The Vemuram gets a little fizzy on the top. With an eq pedal on the SD9 I would imagine you could get a lot closer because as Landau had said he basically wanted an SD9 with more tweakability. More meat on the SD9. It's a good video however you didn't give the SD9 the same style of playing as you did with the Vemuram. Thanks for sharing.
Sad to read haters comments, always about the cost. I highly rate Vemuram and will no doubt get a butter machine to add to SD1 and JR. If you’re spending thousand plus on guitar and amp then scrimping on a pedal in the signal chain doesn’t make sense to me. Music is about feeling inspired by the sound and if you get that from a Vemuram or another pedal then it’s hard to put a price on that.
I haven’t tried it yet, but from what I’ve heard so far on the internet this is probably my least favorite Vemuram pedal. I did love the solo sounds, but every time you played chords (even power chords) it gets too muddy and I actually prefer the sound of the SD-9. And when it comes to cleaning up when turning down the volume, it does do a better job than the SD-9, but I still think it sounds muddy. Maybe I just don’t want distortions to clean up. The Shanks ODS-1 cleans up much better, even when you crank the gain control. And that’s more than enough gain for me. Could be that all of this would be better to my ears (or to my liking) if you would have turned up the tone control a little more. I think I would have liked it better. O well, I don’t have to have every single pedal they produce. 😊
I’m not hearing a perceived warmer highs in the Vemuram and as sounds just as good, just not as much volume as the Vemuram. Must be just perceived less harsh in person. Great demo!
Tbh, this demo doesn't do the Butter Machine justice. Cause it sounds so much better live thru guitarspeakers. Maybe I'll do another video of that sound
The butter machine does sound better but costs £400 in the uk 🇬🇧 Not going to moan about price, if you like something and can afford it, why not? I’ll have to stick with my SD9, nice playing btw 👌
I have used both live for a few months now. I like both but each with his own purpose. For getting harder Marshall esque tones, the sd9. For more bluesy open sounds the Butter Machine
Thx for your refined comments. I love the sd9, as I said I have it on my board for over 7 years! That being said, the Vemuram just sounds better. Anyway I'm entitled to my opinion, just as you are.
I have two Vemurams. I have compared them directly to the pedals to which they are most similar. Preferred the Vemurams and sold the others. Sure, they're expensive. But, to my ears, they're 5-10% better than the others. If you can afford them, and nuance is important to you, 5-10% can be the difference between a pedal you like or don't like, or between something that's satisfactory vs one you love. "Hate?" People like what they like. A "rip off" is something that doesn't do what it's supposed to do. The rest is up to your means and what you value.

The Vem sounds perfect (like they always do)

Yup, I do concur absolutely
Well said!
Great comparison! I still prefer Maxon SD9.
just got one after long thinking and money....I also like it more than these new signature ones TWA SH9 and Vemuram!

Thank you. And you are right, if you can afford it....
Great video! Thanks! What single coil pickups are those? Are them noiseless? Sounds great!
This is a budget set from Wilkinson. But I like them a lot
Thank you very much! Sounds great!
Did you try Scott Henderson TWA SH9 pedal? TWA SH9 is also the improved version of maxon sd9
No I have not tried it yet
Churn? Butter machine?
Which one do you like better in your opinion?

Just get the Boss DS-1 Wasa Craft it sounds bigger and better.
Vemuram B.M. very similar to Roger Mayer Voodoo One
True on lower gain settings it sounds like the voodoo1
The V. is $469.00 USD a total rip off for a ts with a bit of extra EQ. The new Keeley Noble Scream is better and $199.00 USD.
SD 9 is smoother
Yes, that's why I still use it a lot
10:30 well said.
CAN $540??? Ripoff
👌😂😂😂
I was going to order one until i saw that price. $520 at Electric Mojo. It is a great sounding pedal, though.
First price of ven is Total rip off. 2nd Just sounds like you want to hate on the sd9. Total waste of time vid
Thx for your refined comments.

Couldn't have said it better Centaur
@@DutchGuitarDude total rip off. But more fool you. Go for it
@@leeshobbyheaven3307 yes we know you think it's a rip off.... Thanks
