Our Lady of the Abandoned Marikina Fiesta 2023

The 232nd Feast of Marikina’s Patron, the Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados, Birhen ng Marikina, and the 333rd Parish Fiesta.
On May 14, 2023, the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of the Abandoned of Marikina celebrates its 333rd Parish Fiesta and the 232nd Feast of the Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados de Marquina. In the celebration of the Town Festival, the month of May is also considered Heritage Month, and the LERION dance is a rich tradition in Marikina among the devotees of Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados de Marikina. Which symbolizes unity and gratitude to the Virgin of Our Lady of the Abandoned. Maligayang Pistang Bayan! Viva OLA!
The Birhen ng Marikina is a canonically crowned image of Mary here in the Philippines. It was the second Our Lady of the Abandoned in the Philippines to have this title, and the third in the whole world. Attending its mass is rich in tradition, culture, and faith. Since it was my first time attending this parish and its fiesta, Marikina didn’t disappoint pilgrims and devotees. Viva la Virgen!
