I wouldn't miss even one of your posts Xav. It's pretty apparent you really like dabbling in bonsai. I wish I could buy several of them from you, but I'd be living in bonsai jail. Then who would cook dinner? (actually I don't cook at all) I would rather bonsai than cook.
Congratulations Xav my friend you have worked hard to get the 5000 subscribers, we both share the difficult times we had to get through with the love of bonsai. All the Larches are credit to the work you have done to maintain their health over the 24 years. Daisy bush is going to survive, it’s so exciting to see it is going to come good, I have a similar situation with a mame pyracantha, it looked to be dead but kept it and it is rewarding me with lots of new foliage, the style may have to change but hey I have the tree. Loves young dream with the love birds moving into a happy married life, I remember that time as I am sure you do, now are kids are doing exactly what we did back then. All the best for the next 5000 subs.
Congratulations on the 5k. Very well deserved Xavier. Not sure if you remember our email exchange earlier on in the year but after a chat, I sent a picture of my "collection". Well, it's increased significantly since last winter and have to say, your channel is one of my top bonsai channels to watch and learn with so, thanks and congratulations again. I've even been tempted to start my own channel (although, I must admit it would be laughable content!) As for your more developed trees, I'd love to see more. The white pine is a favourite of mine and I'm looking at getting a korean hornbeam next year so would happily watch more work on your tree or even appreciate a care guide. Here's to another 5k! I appreciate the support and look forward to seeing more pictures. I am doing a couple more care guides at the moment to be released in the winter (like last year). I try to keep it to species that I have practical knowledge of. I would hve done more on my old Korean Hornbean but it is such a slow grower that there is rarely any change in it :)
They will do fine in a standard bonsai potting mix but equally as well in a good draining compost too. They thrive in most soils. I would probably use a 40% organic with 60% inorganic mix. They are pretty hardy as younglings :)

This is my backward way of complimenting your channel: it’s been very informative and entertaining, and the quality is just as good as those with more subscribers. I have a couple of Chinese elm young ones coming in the mail next week and I am looking for info on the soil for them since they are so young.
