      Thank you for this great lesson! Would you believe I’ve bought about 10 dagger/triangle brushes in the last few months. I’ve struggled to master it and get my technique down, but I just love them. Your leaves are so gorgeous. I like the way your brushes are “fat”. Most of mine are too thin to maneuver easily. I’d love to see some more techniques for these brushes if you get time. Thanks for what you do!

    Thanks for all the wonderful ideas. I know brushes go by different names, mine was sold as a ‘triangle brush’ which makes sense with the three sides to to it. I love your leaves.

    I would love it if you could use this brush on compositions again. Just bought one and trying to get a grip on it 😂. Am trying to explore loose florals with it beyond the common shapes

    My brush bristles separate when painting even though I wet the brush and put a lot of watercolor paint on it. What am I doing wrong?

    • @bealaart
      @bealaart  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're talking about a wedge/triangle brush, right? I love when the bristles do that. 😄 Many things can cause this. The most common is, as you obviously already know, is not enough moisture. How thick is your pigment/water ratio? How old is the brush? Have you washed it thoroughly lately? Do they cling together until you make a stroke with it or are they separated as soon as you remove it from your water jar? What type of hair are the bristles? So many questions, right!? In my experience, wedge brushes will do this as they age or if they are not completely clean. I wash all my brushes with a brush soap once in a while. Pigment can get compacted in the bristles where they attach to the ferrule even if you are rinsing the brushes after every use. Even high quality triangle brushes will do this and it doesn't take very long for it to start happening. I'm serious when I say I love when they do that. Whenever I get a new triangle brush I try to use it a lot for a few months so I can get to that stage more quickly.😂Do you have this problem with other brushes, too or just the triangle brush? I hope all that has given you some troubleshooting ideas.

    Are these dager brushes

    • @bealaart
      @bealaart  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! No, this is not a dagger brush. Dagger brushes are flat. Dagger brushes can have a few different tip shapes, but they are all flat brushes with two sides. This is a triangle (aka wedge) brush because it is a 3D wedge. It has three very distinct sides. Hope that helps.
