    Thank you for this video, I was so scared to split my Pathos, but it is big from the store and more than likely root bound. I did take some cuttings and propagate them into two other plants, now after watching this I think I will split it up to have two other nice size plants. I hit subscribe, and I think it's great to hear the kids in the background I am thinking of incorporating how to propagate and grow from seed into my daughter's home school curriculum. Especially growing fruits and veggies even in a bag if you do not have the yard for it, She will never go hungry if she knows how to grow her own. Maybe even the grandkids, Kids LOVE to play in dirt lol

    I split up my golden pothos and they all died 😩😩 I didn’t split them as gently as you did though, so I’m excited to buy a new one and try again. I *might* have over watered them, and I don’t think they liked the tap water here in GA. They turned yellow and brown and left the building. Thanks for sharing!

      AwesomeAshTV I have hard tap water in NY too. The trick is to only water when the leaves get droopy. Pothos are very resilient plants that can thrive in low as well as high light. Give it another try for sure! Thanks for watching🌿

    I just got a hugeee and way overcrowded pothos from a regional box store chain... It's a gorgeous plant but it needs some help. This video was a nice little tutorial, I'm so new to plants I didn't even know what to do. Thanks!

    Well done. I bought a fairly small one a few months ago, and it's growing like a freakin' triffid, so i must bite the bullet and separate. Thanks for the how-to.

    Omg, how do I get mine to grow up around some sort of pole/stand?? That one you showed is LIFE

    • @GreenThumbish
      @GreenThumbish  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you just have to grab a pole and put the trails around it going upward. It's super simple.

    Hey there! I’m a newbie! What kind of soil do you use and what are those white beads?

    • @GreenThumbish
      @GreenThumbish  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      MyLadyLushh hi. I just use whatever soil is available and I add perlite and orchid bark to it. The white beads are perlite.🌿

    We wait 2 days before watering, right?

    I spent 5 hours splitting my pothos Rupunzel last night... she's about 6 ft long and has complex, tangled roots in a 11-in pot. Half of the roots are circular, taken the shape of the planter and i couldn't pull it at all. 5 hours of carefully sorting through the dirt and "hand combing" her roots...
    Dear TH-cam Community, My question is, some of her roots are exposed above the soil in the new planters. should I dig her back up to bury her deeper? But then the dirt would cover some part of her vine... Any advice is appreciated!

    • @GreenThumbish
      @GreenThumbish  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’d say make sure all roots are covered for sure.🌱

    • @theapan4889
      @theapan4889 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GreenThumbish update, she's dying... her leaves are yellowing and falling from the top down. I am so sad... I moved it into gentler sunlight and added more soil. I will also stop watering. but it seems she's going to die completely soon... what do I do?

    • @GreenThumbish
      @GreenThumbish  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@theapan4889 sound like shock. You separated the roots a lot so that often happens as the plant becomes acclimated to its new space. I’d say leave it be for a bit and it should bounce back.🌱

    I’m so afraid to attempt to divide mine but she’s already in a ten inch pot. But she’s so lush I’m afraid I’ll kill her. Hence why I came here! Wondering if wet or dry soil is better when separating. I’m thinking dry so it comes apart easy?

    • @GreenThumbish
      @GreenThumbish  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For a pothos I'd say dry is fine. Thats how I've always done mine. I don't find their roots to be too sensitive.
