Hey guys,
So this is some behind the scenes footage of me, Dave and Ben jamming. We've always jammed together and a lot of it was funky rock stuff. It's completely improvised so excuse the odd hiccups!

Don't mean to take the wind out of your sails, Bea... but Dave and his bass tone stole the show for me.
So brilliant. Rabea is an endless fountain of groove. All three of these guys are playing at such a high level. They're living their craft. It's obviously everything to them. And DAMN is the music good.

***** never played one, always wanted to have a bash on one though. I love that start, but you have to fight for every lick beyond what would be considered comfortable.
I can imagine, I've never owned a strat, i love the knopfler type tones they give.... I've got the chromeboy though if you fancied a blast sometime?
Is it because it has a fat neck? Im finding it hard to play on strats and les pauls because of that, especially after growing up shredding on RGs.

Have you tried those 50s roadworn mex starts ? Very much alike the one your playing in sound. but might be a lot more playable :)
It's so refreshing to listen to musicians who use music to express their emotions, not just to play meaninglessly. Too many guitarists just play licks up and down the neck but never really have anything to convey. The playing often just sounds emotionless and similar.
Then we have you guys who instantly connect with what you are playing. That's what separates good from great, and skilled from talented! Keep it up!

Rabea is one of the top guitarists in the world. In terms of making real music, with real virtuosity, he's on par with Nuno and George Lynch. I've waited years to see another genius like this. For example, working chords in to a solo--and pulling it off--he is truly bad ass.

I actually hear a lot of Nuno influence in his Bea’s playing, both tonally and rhythmically, along with the percussiveness. I think Bea is a Nuno fan, I know that he has some Nuno N4 guitars.
I feel like we've not yet seen Bea reveal the true extent of his power, but for once that's not too exaggerated of a comment. Bea is fucking tasty and could certainly jam with Nuno without losing any face at all (Lynch would need reconstructive surgery)
@@silentstormstudios Bea is definitely a huge nuno fan, the runs are near identical, same with the percussive legato he's adopted

Strats are supposed to hurt. No pain, no gain. Seriously, though, some really incredible playing here, especially the rhythm turnarounds/syncopation.

Can you explain why strat is difficult to play?
Andrew Zeleno Long scale lengths, tiny frets,low output single coils, awkward neck shapes and the bridge always felt kind of odd to me,..

Dave's an animal. Fuckin' plays so aggressively, i love it.
I know so many bands that would struggle to write a single 4.5 minute song as good as any single section of this jam. Quality stuff.
There's a lot of funk in your playing. I like that. I want that in my playing. Who do you listen to in the funk world?
Cheers man! Yeah I love funk. I learned a lot of my funky rhythm licks from Nuno Bettencourt, from random videos of him jamming on the internet years ago. Other than that I listen to bands like lettuce (Eric Krasno) snarky puppy. Liquid soul... 6 toys, haggis horns. There's so much good funk out there.

Rabea’s loose-yet-tight strumming hand has always intrigued me, I found myself trying to adjust my own strumming to the way he does it a while back and it made a huge difference for me.

I LOOOOVE doing total improvised shit, & you guys straight MURDERED that! Really....REALLY sweet groove all the way through, great tones from everyone too.

Try recording yourself on video while jamming, you may end up doing the same. Apparently I do the same as well without thinking.
I guess you're right. My dad sticks his tongue out when he writes, so I might just have a similar quirk without noticing. I have a tendency to push my bottom lip out when playing bass... so maybe with guitar too.

I used a Marshall JVM and a 5150 MK2 in stereo.
+Rabea Massaad yup sweet man... would the vx be able to nail such clea tones? i m very intrestend in that amp!
+fabrizio peretti absolutely man, the VX was more or less modelled on my original stereo rig. I simply roll off the volume to get my clean tones but you can dial in a pretty nice clean tone as well
