Whether you use a torque wrench or not you should use locktite on your bolts (blue). That way you will not risk the chance of bolts loosening whether you use a torque wrench or not.

You no longer need the 3/16" allen wrench. You now need a T-25 Torx instead to mount the step. We have a 2017 RAM1500, and taking that bumper bracket off is a real PITA. The two nuts on the side are sandwiched in between the bumper and the body. There is almost no clearance. Using the 10mm open end wrench I could get about 1/8th of a turn at a time.

The stock bracket that was taken off of the bumper was there for some reason, I didn't see anything take its place
