Always liked General Clark and he knows how to speak about such serious matters. I too am with Israel all the way. He explained the Hamas playbook EXACTLY.
I pray that Hamas is destroyed and the Palestinians can have a better life in the future, for the children to grow up free of jihadist ideology.

That was the good ol' Tea Party. Look who was in charge of the Tea Party and you'll see people who are currently members of the MAGA Republicans, including (but definitely not limited to) Sarah Palin. The ideology hasn't changed. He's a military man. He knows his trade well. But he doesn't know things outside his trade. We have to use valuable resources like him who are still in our military wisely. I'm not entirely sure we are at present. In fact I'm rather unsure. We'll see how it works out, but we're not making any friends in the region with this. I'm not saying we should abandon Israel. I'm saying we probably chose sides too soon. W should only have chosen a side if Israel was at grave risk of being over run. Moving assets into place was a good idea in case they were needed, just as the general said. It was probably not a favour to anyone by taking sides straight away though. That abdicates our position as an honest broker for peace , and also keeps us from trying to restrain Israel as it commits war crimes, which it has on two occasions now. That makes us complicit in the eyes of the international community, and particularly that of Arab nations. I don't know how we can look the other way when Israel kills people who have surrendered and given up arms when we had the same thing happen in World War II to our own soldiers. Our authority to demand the safe treatment of any of our soldiers who are forced to surrender in future is now forfeit. This was a very short sighted and stupid move.

Mobilise 300'000 civillian reserves and walk into gaza with thier 20'000 terrorists just waiting for them. How idiotic is that. Here is the truth: Why has the ground offense not yet started? Because US told them how idiiotic this plan is and they will lose hard and reach nothing. All that happens right now is destruction for nothing. Noboddy will win. netanyahu is always saying they will win. Wrong. Nobody will win. Israel will lose hard this is 100 % certain. They cant win. It's impossible. The people of Palestine should have rid itself of the terrorist organization. Instead Palestinians voted for Hamas to lead their Parliamentary government in January 25, 2006.
Resisting compromise, in 2007 Hamas violently overthrew the (internationally recognized) Palestinian Authority in the Gaza Strip. In 2023 Hamas still rules the Gaza Strip (not the West Bank). The Palestinian people still accept this Hamas leadership.
The leaders of the Gaza Strip should arrange for neighboring Arab nations to shelter their war refugees and provide humanitarian aid, but they have not. Nor will they ever; because since its formation in 1987 Hamas has always used its people as human shields.
Keep these historical facts in mind as you see the suffering in the Gaza Strip.

I think you're wrong about that. They are very dangerous, and most of us know it. At the same time, Israel has not said how they propose to rid the world of Hamas. Hamas is much more far reaching than just Gaza, and Hamas can easily slip away just by getting rid of their uniforms and dressing like civilians. In addition, they know where all the escape tunnels are, and they are the only ones who do. There are members of Hamas in many countries around the world including in the United States, but again, it's impossible to tell them apart from anyone else since they don't come with a brand name stamped on them. Their stated goal is unachievable. If we get involved any more deeply than we already are, we will be stuck in yet another forever war which we will inevitably lose, leaving lots of hard feelings behind. We would have been much better off to have remained neutral unless it looked as if another front was going to open up either from the north and Hezbollah, or from the west bank, or from Syria. By choosing sides we abdicated the possibility of acting as an honest broker to put pressure on Iran not to violate international law (which it has twice so far), and of brokering peace later on. Peace will eventually have to come, and the country which brokers the peace will have more cache than we will have as a result of taking sides. We have given up a lot for absolutely no gain, and if we get involved in the shootin' side of it, we will earn all sorts of bad feelings in the Arab world. Israel is still going to have to learn to live with its adversaries, or else it will never be free from danger. Hard line governments in Israel have not helped their cause any. What happened to Israeli civilians was horrendous, and we can recognize that without bringing any harm to ourselves. What is happening to Palestinian civilians is also horrendous, but saying so rings empty when we have already chosen sides. When Hamas is weeded out to the degree it is possible to do that, who is going to broker the peace? It won't be us. We have already chosen a side. Will it be China? Russia? An Islamic nation? There are a lot of possibilities which aren't necessarily going to play to our benefit. Our short-sightedness is shocking, and it is only getting worse. It doesn't bode well for this country. I'm rather happy that I don't have many years left on my life. It means I don't have to live through what is coming, and what we have chosen for ourselves and our future by not being able to think ahead, take the long term view, delay gratification, be informed, think for ourselves and all the other cognitive problems we've made a part of American life. We are going to pay in ways most of us can't even imagine at present. I'm sorry for all of you who will have to live through it all. But you made your own bed.

They cut off electricity and water for 2 million people and what does the US do? - please dont cut off the water. Israel is 100 % depending on US. Biden has all power you can imagine over Israel so why on earth they let them cut off electricity for the south of gaza strip which may easily result in the deaths of thousands in the hospitals? How is that possible? How is it possible that the US let them do their idiotic ground offense even though the US tried over 20 YEARS!! to defeat the taliban and they lost. This is so insane. They will reach absolutely nothing in their ground offense but destruction. Where will the 1 million refugees go? Europe????

Hold on......................HAMAS shocking crimes are just an exact replica of what Israel has committed on thousands of Christian and Muslim Palestinians over 75 years.
IIs it okay for the white settlers to line children up and shoot them in the head? Is it okay to assault and jail little children, as they did and still do? Is it okay to abduct grandparents, mums and dad, brothers and sisters and hold them in jails because they cry for justice?
Israel bought all this upon themselves. You plant a bad tree; you reap rotten fruit.
The barbarity started with the British trickery, lies and killings. The Christian Palestinians rioted in Jerusalem against them. Where, they were either killed or assaulted, due to British military advantage. After the Balfour Declaration was signed, the European settlers arrived on to Middle Eastern land and continued massacring, stealing their homes, farm stock and land and 3 years after WW11 the 1948 displacement of the indigenous people, who once lived in a thriving, peaceful and wealthy society. The very same people who are the Holocaust survivors. They learnt a lot from being under Nazis. These survivors were stripped of their identity, Hitler's propaganda machine was believed. they were labelled, pushed out of their homes, their lives forever destroyed by displacement and extermination. Something that should not happen to any person. Yet, these same Europeans and their descendants who came to Middle Eastern shores proceeded to repeat history...displace and/or exterminate. Today, the Palestinians live in an apartheid system, in imprisoned open-air settlements, where their land continues to be stolen away. There are some, who live in Israel and are constantly threatened with the removal of their land and homes.
Before the Brits arrived, there were established ports, a university, intellectual and debating circles, festivals, schools, art and craft centers, established orchards, producing, for the export markets. Furthermore, within this well-functioning society were irrigation systems, various industries, decorated cafes where people played board games, listened to stories and sang. There were beautiful and modest homes, a railway, well stocked shops and other booming trade businesses. The home for all indigenous Jews, Muslim and Christian Palestinians, who had lived in harmony, side by side.
Then to have everything you know of, stolen away…your livelihoods, your home, your security, your legacy. Their lives forever smashed, shattered dreams, the squashing of their beautiful heritage and displaced forever.
For what? Greed, control, power and what the bible says, is the Israeli's home. If so, why take nearly 2000 years? They had plenty of time to return over the years. But to wait nearly 2000 years when societies change, as does language, customs, technology, art, architecture and tradition. is it right, I load up ships of Scandinavians and arrive back to our ancestor’s homeland? Proceed to systematically destroy their thriving society, exterminate, displace and continue to displace them? Is that my god given right? To ensure the world leading powers become my allies and start spewing out propaganda when they rise up against our take over? By repressing truths and ramping up the propaganda I seal the deal to indoctrinate the world that we the settlers are the rightful ones and the others, are evil. All because it is my god given right that is my ancestral home. No.
Who, I ask you, is the true barbaric people?
