Maybe it’s just me but like most carp gear I feel they are massively over priced. Being in the electronics industry I suspect the components used to make them cost peanuts. But as usual us mugs will buy them!!!!
I bought the 2nd gen delkims and had them for 15 years without any issues. Last year I upgraded to the new ones and hope they make it is as well for at least a decade. If they do, I don’t mind if they are somewhat pricy… because I like to buy and don’t have to rebuy soon.
Your paying for all the research and development, 10 years of it isn’t cheap. My delkims have lasted me years without fault, quality components and well engineered. In some cases you still get what you pay for..
Seen them in angling direct store, can’t believe how cheap and flimsy they looked. It looks like the sensitivity settings are not as good as on the old ones. I think it’s missing a couple of features if I’m not mistaken. No good for river fishing.
I say old chap, they're priced like that because they're unique and so that riff raff can't afford them and it gives one the opportunity to look down ones nose at all these other alarms
Just use the goo,s and bait soaks m8y attraction is key on coloured waters. Rigs generally the same except colour matching end tackle not as important 👍
*These things are awesome **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it’s very loud when they go off and I could hear it easily from 20 yards away from my pole. Also very sensitive that even a bluegill will trip it. But one of the alarms wasn't working, made a quiet click and a flash of the LED and it was it. Was fine since I'm only allow 2 poles in the state I live in. High quality and already came with batteries.*

Never understand what people do to get this. I've been fishing with delks for 20 odd years. Had 4 or 5 different sets as I've gone from carp to sea fishing multiple times, they have been dunked in the lake multiple times. Sat through some shocking weather with rain, snow and ice. And have literally never let me down.

I am from America and i've never seen anything quite like this. Can someone explain the clip on part, the green thing? I can't figure out what that's for. Could you just let the line run across the wheel without that?
Its called a hanger/bobbin/swinger (depends on what type) But its just there to keep tension on the "wheel" (in this case its not a wheel but a Y shaped vibration sensor) if there is no tension on the wheel/sensor it can have a hard time reacting. AND also if the fish picks up the bait and swims towards the rod (what we call a dropback), the hanger falls down and pulling line with it so the alarm still react, if no counterweight(hanger) on this side off the alarm and there is a dropback the alarm will not react ;)

They look good but do they work when it rains? Nothing but trouble with my last set. Never had a problem with my first set from the 90s

Still dont explain why they are so exspensive.
Probably because they waa running out of money
because they should last 20 year+ if you look after them + the technology well worth it
