Guido Basso!!! Just heard him play live last night at the Sudbury Jazz Festival!!! Fell in love with his playing over 30 years ago watching "Night Moves", "Night Walk", and "Night Ride" on Global TV. He turns 78 years old on the 27th of this month (Sept)! He is even better now!!!

Arguably one of the best big bands ever. I had their DIRECT CUT album in 1978 and the interpretation of Gershwin's Porgy and Bess was outstanding.....it covered a whole side of one LP

Arguably the greatest ever Flugal horn player and definitely the greatest Big Band of all time - and I've heard them all !!. Oh! how I miss Rob and his fabulous arrangements - how on earth those musicians managed to read them is beyond me. At least Rob left a musical legacy never to be bettered in Jazz.
