USA: there's actually lots of different crossing bells, though the General Signals type 2 is the most common "bell" used today. Back then, the bells had actual gongs. Western Railroad Supply (WRRS), US&S (Union Switch and Signal) and the Griswold Signal Company were pretty big manufacturers of grade crossing bells. Australia: The same "bell" is used in the USA known as the Western Cullen Hayes (WCH) electronic bells with 4 types (technically 5 if you count 1.5). You instead can use a Westinghouse Hybrid bell since they're an Australian exclusive. Brazil: Also used in the States. Possibly a WRRS or WCH mechanical bell Greece: WRRS Mechanical bell from the US The Netherlands: It's not just that one "bell" the Netherlands also use their own mechanical bells and even WRRS "mini" Pedestrian crossing bells.
I miss the double cross bar sign here in Indonesia. My passed uncle made it for me since I was a little. Now they're changing all of them and make it like a cross and a up point sign just like the thumbnail 😢
That's why there is an additional blinking white lamp under the two red lamps. If the signal in operation, it's blinking red, otherwise (if it's working) the white lamp is blinking, so you know it's not broken. It's important to know that the white lamp din't indicate that the crossing is clear, but that the signal is working. So, if its blinking at white, you don't have to stop before the crossing, but you have to look around, but if the signal is black (none of the lights blink) you have to stop before the crossing and look around for the train. However in neither case you cannot stop at the intersection (not even for traffic reasons!), you must drive at a minimum average speed of 5 km/h and you cannot overtake at the intersection, and even vehicles with distinctive signs (police, fire, ambulance) cannot drive throught at a red light. However, it would be cool (and more safe) if there would be a bell, like in US or Finland)
the sound of Italian PLs is no longer like that. the sound reported in the video is that of the SOA of barrier-free level crossings which has become illegal in Italy

Unfortunately, we don't have any single sound for the railroad crossing in Hungary. I still don't know why... But, nevertheless we have fantastic sounds for each train in my opinnion.
Well that's because hungarians HATE this type of noises, and there will be a rebellion if any sounds are used. Trust me, I'm 100% hungarian more than 35 years... So you won't find any sound in Hungary railroad crossings, because WE ARE NOT USING IT (only maybe in the backwater countryside where only a simple bell used )!
I think here is some mistakes Netherlands crossing doesnt always make the red light go fast it is slower andd Phillipines (my country) has a fast warning lights
0:12 slightly misleading. The amber light stays on for about 2 - 5 seconds (usually 3), and the red lights flutter about for a bit before going to a rhythmtical pattern.
Makes sense Every time I watch a railroad crossing video with gateless railroad crossings, everyone keeps going until the train crashes into one of the cars
Mistake on India the picture is Sri Lanka not India thanks guys for pointing this out. Also I will fix it in part 2
That is okay

Our Railroad Crossings in the Philippines can be dangerous because while the train is still passing, they raise it too early.
