One has to wonder what percentage of them survived. I bought one years ago for $50. Last one sold for $5000 on ebay.

@@hb8010 I've been watching clips of Robin Williams lately, and he does (did 😥) a really adorable childs voice. He's the only one I can think of who might have been able to pull it off.
@@hb8010 I talked to Rob Paulson about that and he said he would definitely do a couple of voices for Calvin & Hobbes (Hobbes especially) since he liked the comics so much. Sucks Bill Watterson just doesn't feel comfortable Doing anything outside of the comic strips though.
This is PRECISELY what I needed to put up on my tv in winter while I'm steaming chestnuts and making hot chocolate. The ambience is so PERFECT. It makes me think back to Christmas time with my parents AND grandparents, when I was still young and excited for everything related to the holiday. Even the music you chose reminds me of what Christmas sounded like in my house. It all feels comforting and warm, like it should.
One the best videos to ever grace TH-cam. Just like Calvin and Hobbes was the best comic to ever grace our childhoods. The music is superb as well. Everything is perfect. Just right. Just as it was when I was a child, reading Calvin and Hobbes by the fire with my dog Floyd.
Hobbs inside snoozing under the fire by the evening paper. Calvin building snow goons. Dad building character shoveling snow. Suzie chases Calvin having been clobbered with one of his snowballs. Mom's cup of hot chocolate left by the fire to stay warm while she does chores. Family photos on the mantle. Everything in place except Calvin's Astroboy school picture. Outstanding work Adam! 6 stars out of 5. Excellent soundtrack; bounces back and forth between L-Center-R speakers. Wow.
Put this on in our work break room. People that didn't know Calvin and Hobbes were watching to see the entire loop. Thank you for this! You match Watterson's style and spirit well!
This is genuinely the best Calvin and Hobbes animation Ive ever seen. I thought it would be impossible to capture Wattersons style so well in animation. If you ever have the time Id really love to see more Calvin and Hobbes animation from you
Love this. Only thing i would suggest is have more of the wait time between the more active animations to keep it more relaxing. Have the more active animations be like Easter eggs that you have to pay attention to the video to see. It may seem to busy otherwise. And for a little icing on the cake some subtle audio cues for Hobbs stretching and the great animations in the window. But as a C & H fan I’m am very thankful for this blast from the past. 9.7/10 *all opinions expressed in this comment matter as much as you think they do. Just a “layman” pointing something out to who i think is a pro* I hope you have kept up with your art journey because this truly gave my heart joy. This really captured the aesthetic of the comics and perfectly translated them into motion without losing any of that. This is gonna be playing on my computer alot this winter. ❤️
This is beautifully done. You captured the essence and style perfectly and faithfully. I also love that you didn't take liberties with the material to make "fanfic" out of it

Back in the day, I used to give the latest Calvin and Hobbes book to my brother every Christmas. He would dive right in and laugh until he was red in the face. Best Christmas memory for me!

Speaking of Calvin and Hobbes animations, there’s actually a Calvin and Hobbes Lego stop motion series out there created three or four months ago, and it pays homage to several iconic comic strips of theirs, and the opening isn’t too bad,it’s just, the music in the opening is BLARING. Its a wonderful tribute to the duo otherwise, and I really want everyone to know about it. Go check it out and maybe give me some feedback.

I've often wondered what he thinks every time he sees a sticker on a car of Calvin peeing on a truck logo or sports team.

It is lovely, but I can't see any voices being given to any of the characters. So I don't think an animated feature would work. Maybe some purring.
