With a past theme maybe we might see the resurgence of humans or human technology. Maybe Tartar managed to survive and is using tech to recreate past enemies and conflicts. Maybe Ark Polaris wasn’t the only ship launched. I don’t know if people are sick of it, when it comes to fandoms I prefer to keep to myself and only peer out over available information when I need to.
A salmon-run approach to the next game hadn’t occurred to me, but that sounds super interesting! As I don’t do salmon much in 3, and I’m sure plenty of other people don’t either, it would probably help expand the community out of just playing turf war. Also one of my hopes for Splatoon 4 is more expansion on tableturf, it was kinda fun to collect the cards but I personally didn’t have much to do with them.
My personal idea is that past will take the story mode and map themes. Future will take the DLC and present will take the hub aesthetic and where the game is in the timeline. For the story mode we will have to go to the past (time travel will exist) with Callie and Marie because the antagonist will be someone who made time travel to try and change the past. We will play as Agent 4 or the new Agent 3 For the DLC we will go with deep cut who got their hands on the time machine after the events of the story mode and got help from Marina to restore it and go to the future to see what it is like. They will find out that tar tar has made a return and need agent 8s help to save the world from ending.
My prediction of Splatoon 4 is… I think know the dev are aware of the fanbase so we will get the pasts. For the DLC we will continue to get a new conflict with the far future. We have went to space and if history repeat itself. Callie become an enemy in Splatoon 2 after losing Splatfest 1 Order loss and Marina became the enemy in the DLC for Splatoon 3 Prepare for Anarchy and treasure hunt because who just lost Splatoon 3 Splatfest. Deep Cut or renamed Ice and Fire. If the music hints are true, Big Man will leave the group or inverse can happen too. But hey it a theory…

i think it’d be very funny if we just got a first person shooter of the war that caused the end of humanity before the inklings existed
