450 pulses feel very inconsistent on mnk imo, you have to be so accurate for so little return. Often people live on low HP when I feel like other weapons would have killed in that situation.
Headseeker will secure you many more kills. I was using a 450 without it and so many enemies were left with a sliver of hp. The key is 100 recoil direction, keep away, and head-seeker. Find a 450 with those three things and you’ll get success
Seems like bad player

I think a big issue with outbreak is that it doesn't flinch your opponents. Something about the projectiles causes this
Maybe it's linked to having an auto rifle recoil pattern so the flinch given to opponents isn't that much as well?
Good grief, that Explosive Payload Nation of Beasts guy was out for blood.
@12:48 is akin to the moment in Infinity War where Thor shows up at the fight in Wakanda.
Cammy: _[lands into the match]_ BRING ME THE TOP FRAGGER!!
lol
This thing is cracked on controller, i don’t know what it is but it just melts. Even in comp i’m slaying, not to mention the nanites holding off revives.
It's not even just skill island, they see Totsugeki fishing on skill island and pull up like it's the final episode of Survivor
Got this gun and I think you hit it on the head. At the highest skill level, mid range engagements, HC still rule (esp if you run into a team of goated HC users). As for pulses, Elsies Zen + Headseeker or Messenger Adept are the Queen and King.
Sometimes I feel like these "head to head" comparisons are mired with personal biases towards specific playstyles and weapon types that benefit that style more than another, but I think Outbreak has problems flinching opponents which is why it's so hard to fight back against opposing flinch. It's like your target isn't hindered at all, even if you're hitting headshots, and any weapon is going to perform poorly overall if that's the case.
A we ran on a loss is wild
i love watching these videos because it's like attending a lecture for a class 4 years above you, almost none of this knowledge is applicable for my skill level but it's fun to see experts go at it
It is more applicable than you think! Top players are a microcosm of a bigger environment. Pick up on what he does! You will adapt so much faster than you think!
Wow maybe outbreak feels much worse on MnK but in controller it’s amazing
It does feel great on controller but no way it's better than NTTE. It's fun for 6s with the nanonites but in competitive 3s NTTE all the way
After using it in trials and adept comp matches I can say with 100% certainty this is a competitive option for sure. But hey maybe that’s just me, in which case that’s fine the less people forcing me to deal with nanites the better
I was a bit surprised by Cammy's take on it after watching Jake using it and really liking it, but then Jake is a controller player, so that may have a lot to do with their differing opinions.
@@Welverin that’s what I was thinking honestly
Man, if you had Necro on that thrall explosion would've been beautiful at 5:10.
might be a combination of player count and lobby balancing but it feels like qp has gone back to the old ways and it’s just the two best players in the lobby on either team, followed by ok-terrible players on either team with too much variance. like the whole mercy or be mercied thing.
comp feels the same, drop a we ran one game, get rolled the next, esp in solo queues or mid ranks. need a team to get back on skill island ig😭
The thing is it's a combo between bungie refusing to put real effort towards properly balancing pvp, not letting the artifact work in pvp, really weird matchmaking even when sbmm is really low, and general player sentiment about destiny. All that together leaves player numbers lower and with the way crucible is treated the only consistent pvp players are sweats and people who come just for bounties and seasonal challenges: soooooooo people who are here to run hard meta and stat pad and people who don't really wanna be here but have to for whatever rewards they're after. Playing crucible just for fun has been taken out back and executed because even when the balance is feeling a bit better the crutches and sweats find a reason to bitch loudly about everything that isn't meta hand cannon + meta shotgun/beloved level sniper and the sandbox goes right back to being a boring sweatfest of people all using the same cheese bullshit to win and not only does all skill get sucked out of the room but it becomes unfun to play for everyone.
my guess is their scared to lose the dedicated pvp playerbase who love that hand cannon meta like myself, but too lazy to introduce true mmr or lock in on balancing the damn game and making other weapons viable. I think at least being experimental with the sandbox and bringing proper mmr back would be a start. they did something similar a couple years back for a bit when you could rank up from 0 to fabled if the game thought you were good based on performance and thats when comp was most fun imo. As of late though PVE been pretty cool for a returning player so that’s something.
I think its a population thing, people are either prepping for TFS or just taking a break
trials feels just as miserable, matches take forever to find and its never a balanced match
though IK trials MM is more open in general
Outbreak is most definitely a controller weapon, but in my opinion, a lot of the adaptive pulses just perform better anyway, as well as the fact that chattering bone is just more consistent
it's good, but it's not that good. If the other team is getting tired of being pulsed. They will Put on NTTE/Elsies/The Messenger/
My tip for making outbreak work is have some form of info before the gun fight and pre fire the corner i found a lot of success pairing outbreak with kepris sting
Yeah, I had the same problem, if if you don't get flinched off you die due to ttk..
Atleast with adaptive frames I can use radiant frostees and 2 burst
I think outbreak is overall a cool gun. Looks, sound, feel are all top tier. The TTK just isn't there even with HS. The other major downside is its one of those guns where you announce your presence when shooting it. So with low TTK and getting flinched and people knowing your there its more of a "break it out" for fun gun. Probably has more PVE relevance.
I didn’t really have flinch issues with Outbreak so I find this interesting. I was running Headseeker so maybe the extra aim assist after hitting the body once helps in this regard? I have to mess around with it more personally
I remember a match a couple seasons ago where I was using Outbreak and every other exotic pulse rifle was on the enemy team. My conclusions then were; No Time out ttks you, Vigilance Wing outflinches you, don't think Revision Zero was in the game at that point, but that also out ttks you at base and has the potential to outright snipe you. The only ones Outbreak could compete with were Bad Juju and Collective Obligation, which is not great. Real shame that becoming craftable hasn't improved the situation.
Honestly the Europa pulse rifle is nasty
I don’t know if it’s just me, but knucklehead feels very underrated, the info is awesome
Thing is, you cant really compare outbreak to No Time. Two different archetypes, two different recoil and firing patterns, and two different perks. Outbreak is more for team play against something with alot of health, hence the damage stacking with other nanites and No Time is more a pvp exotic. Designed to get the kill quick and make it difficult to return fire against. The exotic perk with it literally gives you mini aimbot to help with the ttk. It would make more sense to compare No Time to a weapon of a similar firing rate and damage output, versus a weapon like Outbreak.
Best gun in the game. 3kd trials with it so far this week.
I know it’s in the hands of a legend but even at a higher level in 6s this thing looks cracked.
Now taking it into 3s seems silly since everyone and their mother is Conditional/Iggy but damn, I gotta get me one of these for QP.
Outbreak perfected? Im a fuckin outbreak PURIST I’ve been using it since D1 and day one of the quest dropping, I have sung this gun’s praise the second I got those lil nano-particles in my greasy grippers, dude
I really want to see it on controller (especially the one you got). MnK with OBP compared to NTTE is a night and day difference. Really is a shame because I love you MnK gameplays.
Headseeker makes this guns second kill in one mag potential super high, I can easily snap from one kill to the next because of the easiest three burst ever
12:19 That's a lot of range. lol
al go rhythm
6 Malfeasance would be better than 6 Outbreak I imagine
clean af tether. now that's some game sense.
Elsie's Rifle will be on top forever and ever RAAAAAAAHHHH
6 outbreaks? you ever tried 6 rat king?
6 rat kings is a joke its so op lol
Me when the overpowered weapon (ntte) is better than the balanced one (outbreak)
What about lightweight pulses in general?
Something about the aim assist on lightweights + headseeker giving even more aim assist make this thing feel so much easier to use in all situations compared to 340s. At range no time is god king but as soon as someone gets close I whiff shots on 340s like no tomorrow, but on outbreak and other 450s thanks to the aim assist and high handling I win those close range gunfights way more while still doing well at range. (mnk)
Idk but one thing I do know is my outbreak is glitched I can’t change the barrels even though I have all three perks and siva 1-3 collected
Try leveling it up, I had the same issue
What does skill island mean?
one of the reasons I think I'm actually pretty happy being a lower-skill player overall - since I can't get the absolute most out of the META weapons, since I'm not playing against skill island players and loadouts too often, there's more freedom to use what feels fun. silly loadouts like outbreak + chromatic fire to pick up the occasional collateral and make multikills easier are only really viable in less competitive tiers of play.
Wait a minute, this isnt the Adept Rank’s Strongest Warrior video. Booooo
These 450 pulse exotic do NOT have lw...no point in using it...

Outbreak for me is the best worst feeling gun in the game. So smooth to shoot but so bad too shoot if you are being shot at.
450s just aren't a competitive archetype imo
in my opinion the gun is mid
6 min damn

So, for the top 1% of players it's not that good compared to the absolute meta, but for the other 99% of us it'll do more than fine and is exceptionally usable. This is the problem with elite players reviewing guns IMO. Yes, of course you have to see it from your point of view, but your point of view is skewed compared to the vast majority of other players.
You will benefit just as much as a 1% player from no time over outbreak. He’s not saying that no time is better when you’re more accurate it’s just better. He’s also not saying he can’t preform with outbreak he’s just saying no time is easier
Look, it's all subjective. The average player isn't dominating lobbies just because they have no time... I ain't getting 2 bursted by no times consistently. After using lightweights fir the past 2 weeks, I've come to love them over every other frame in the game... and that goes for every weapon type
I'm on console, so controller... 45/70 range/stability is perfect for lightweights on maps that are actually designed for lightweights to shine... outbreak is sloppy on console, no aim assist and insane visual recoil. Being able to up the stab to 70 is a game changer..
My first game with it, I went into comp and dropped 23 kills, no assists. Even managed to pull off a 4 piece 😂 chattering bone is still my go to, but having the nanites and headseeker on controller, is pretty damn good in a 3v3 setting
"Cryosthesia doesn't hang at skill island, delete"
Bye bye 54k kill Cryo 🫡
everyone uses handcannons anyways. pvp is a shithole rn
I can’t see a reason to use this over Syncopation or even NTTE, and no gun will be in my hands more than red death next season
