Love ALL your vids. Nice to see these site installations......bc it addresses what your viewers most think about after viewing B's reviews & deciding on a TV. What do I do now?......installing, mounting, placing, etc. All the unknown issues that freak out consumers. Thank you so much for simply pointing out the obvious stuff professionals know about, but the public is just clueless about.
Very nice and perfect installation. I wanted to buy the same BUT it seems to have a lot and very high REFLECTIONS that I didn't realised in the presentation before on the channel. Thanks to the owners of TCL S5 to give me their feedbacks on this point 😘
I'm not a fan of expandable wall mounts on dry wall even when installed on studs (at least that how I was taught) but I gotta say you did pretty good job.
Can’t understand why the all the 📺 doesn’t include a stencil. It would make installing much easier. Tape the 98” stencil to the wall and then drill out the holes and so on. And it’s easier to se where the tv will sit on the wall.
The tv doesn’t come with a mount for the wall so how are they going to give you a stencil for it not knowing which of the 100 different mounts you can buy??
I wished they made tv stand legs that attach to the VESA amount holes of 98 inch sized TVs. The biggest size that you can find goes up to 90 inches and 150 lbs Max weight. 😢 This would make getting a TV this size an option because 1.) not every one can mount a tv (window). 2.) not everyone has an ultra wide stand which is where most of these TVs design their feet to go to where you need a super wide stand. Only Samsung (80c) has a center mount pedestal the other companies have their feet super wide which dis includes them from consideration.
I got the 55" tcl 5 series on black Friday for $148 right before covid... Then a week later I found the exact same TV at a pawn shop for $150. Snatched that up no brainer. They have served me well and only one of them just now 5 years later had the top led rows die which are $10 to replace from Ali express. I really want to upgrade but nothing is this cheap nowadays. Aliexpress order is in. If I can't fix it then I'll upgrade. This tv is awesome. I can't imagine it being 100 inches! Congrats! What times we live in.
To last 5 years in any brand, is really nice! Gone are the days of expecting a TV to last 10 years. There are always exceptions, but that is not the rule. At least that is what my repair guy friends say.
Mounting a huge (and expensive) TV seems like it's more of a hassle than it's worth, even if you want a cleaner presentation. Unless space is a huge concern, the go-to is to just save yourself the trouble and get a stand.
You should try a weat paper towel or cloth against the wall while you drill instead of a dust pan, bro. I think it catches all the dust a lot better. Great job and content!
Always so funny to see TV installs from the USA like okey, we just saw away some of the wall, put some cables here etc.. Ames me wonder if there are any concrete build homes in the USA at all. Doing this in my living room would require some real heavy duty drilling and wall demolishing.
Wow thanks Brian I finaly got the measurements I got that same mount you recommended now I can mount it and wait for the tv that I'll be ordering next Friday the only thing that worries me is that my wall has metal studs 😢
Wow. Is this warmed up a lot? I'm going to put this TV behind my head. So the customer can see the TV and still can have eye contact. hope it doesnt get too hot
HI B, thanks for this video, went out and bought one of these 98in TCL TVs - I have a mount but the wall mount arms (vertical) max out at 500mm. In the video you say it has a 500 x 600 VESA pattern and that the 500 you think is vertical. Can you confirm that? Note- purchased Feb29 for 1999.00 at Best Buy
I love your videos! If I wanted to build a wall unit to install this TV or a UM8 98 inch TV, how deep does it have to be to have that flush look? With the mount I am guessing 9 inches or so. Any thoughts?
@@BTheInstaller love your videos and support your channel. I live in Wisconsin and I'm a huge Packer fan. Just glad to see their support out there even with a new team.
Would you go for the Hisense U8K 100” for $3999 or this TCL S5 for $2999 during the Black Friday sale? Is the extra $1000 for the Hisense worth it for the mini LED and backlight zones? Thank great video.
Truthfully I'd go for this one, the U8K has better colors, but for a 98" tv you have to go with an LED. The U8K will increase your electeic bill a lot.
The u8k is technically a better tv with dimming zones so better contrast but then you also get blooming. Very tough call and I'm sure you'd be stoked either way. I heard the u8k is now 3k? If same likely the u8k
Just got the TV a couple of days ago $2498 on Amazon 12 months same as cash. First smart TV. I think the picture looks great. But, I came home from work, turned it on, all the channels were there, but no picture on any channel. WiFi was good, everything was good but nothing but a black screen. I unplugged it and plugged back in and everything back to normal. I hope that's not the start of things because I really like the TV.
I can answer that cuz it's my house Yes because the way the room is centered where we sit we couldn't center it on the wall otherwise my fireplace would be blocking our seating
A flat mount may have been best here. He may change it out at some point. People don't realize how far out arm mounts stick out but at the time he just wanted a massive mount.
Hello Brian, have viewed many of your videos in the past, but new to your channel as a subscriber. Looking for some guidance: I presently have a Samsung 75" UHD (UN75RU9000FXZA), connected to my Denon AVR-S750H receiver which I have connected my Fire Stick 4kMAX. With all the QLED, Mini-QLED, Neo-Qled and OLED not user which route to take. As many user looking to get the most bang for my buck, yet want Quality! I am not a gamer, but would take advantage in the future and purchase a gaming console. I mainly watch my tv channels via a streaming app, as well as watch TH-cam content and Prime video. Since BIG is the new norm, looking at either 85" or 98". Guidance Please!! Thanks in advance, keep those reviews coming !!

It baffles me why people opt for larger TVs over just getting a normal sized 55 inch - 60inch OLED which are miles more worth it in terms of Picture Quality just baffles me. Clearly people with 0 TV knowledge.
It’s like watching a movie at a drive-in theater. Only the picture is super clear!

In 1997 that's what people used to say about the 42 inches tv's lol
Just bought this on Amazon for $1999! Can’t wait to get it in!
The 98" version of the S5 apparently has TCLs AIPQ Gen 3 processing engine normally found on the QM8 and Q7 , which maximizes the image . Bonus .

Awsome Video i have a Question How do imstall the Brakets dat come with it caz i installed my 55 inch Roku But it feel Like the Mount is Shakey

I'm surprised you used the push connectors for the outlet wires.

Nice job you guys. Looks like a great picture.

do you have a link on the mount required?

Close. I get the venti salted carmel cold brew and then I mix it. A ton of caffeine.

Which tv is better TCL s5 or Samsung Q80C.
There was no piece to latch over the hooks? And my man shoulda got an OLED 😥

That TV is 30 square feet!
Great opportunity for content you mean...
How high should a typical TV be in a standard room?
Eye level when you are seated otherwise long term you will get neck ache if its mounted high up.
the usual interesting informative video but where's Jen. : )
What is reasoning for articulating, why not use a flat fixed mount?
So they can move it duhh
@bossblacka1951 Not sure you want to move a 98" TV, fixed mount will give you a better finish.
A flat mount may have been best here. He may change it out at some point. People don't realize how far out arm mounts stick out but at the time he just wanted a massive mount.
It's easier to access the HDMI ports and you can move the TV to help with glare and whatnot

Not very. Like 6 inches just for the mount and then the tv thickness. But you can also get a flush mount that will be tighter for sure.
Thank you for reply
I can't afford the g3. So I'm after a thin large tv that sits as flush as possible
