- How I store grated coconut in freezer. I have also included how I break open the coconut in case to help the newbies in kitchen. Skip to grating part at 2:50
Many of you already know this but there could be people who want to know/ learn as they are new to this.
I use my wet grinder attachment for this as it is easy for bulk grating. You can use your own method of grating and freeze them this way.
Storing as thin layer is the key for easy usage, you can break some portion and use it in your cooking.
Do not thaw and re freeze the coconut, take just the required portion and keep back the rest immediately.
The wet grinder I am using is Ultra grinder and this coconut grater attachment can be either bought together with the purchase of grinder or can also be ordered separately through their website.

Even I used to store coconut like this in Tupperware container. Stays fresh for 2 to 3 weeks. Post more video like this for working women this.

How long can we store it in freezer?
I finish within a month. If your freezer is in right temperature and you do not take it out at all, upto 3 months it will stay good. Never leave out and refreeze it

This is a timely video for me , I just bought one coconut for storing . I had one question - is is easy to take out coconut as much as we like if stored in single ziplock ? I read that people make cubes n store
So sorry, missed this comment. Just make sure to level the coconut inside ziploc as a thin sheet. Then just break required amount. I have told this in the video towards end.

Yes, just make sure to immediately freeze the coconut as you grate. Use gloves if possible. Store in small portions. Take out only the portion you need, immediately put back inside. Maintain freezer temperature low. These things will ensure freshness :)

I store in ziploc as we can store it as thin sheet so that we can break required amount. If you can take required portions then you can store . There won't be any issue other than that
How can you make coconut chutney from this frozen coconut later?
I usually take out and grind using luke warm water. You can also leave it for 10 mins to defrost and grind.

How long can store ?
For me it gets over within a month. It can be good for 2 months definitely. But once you take out a batch, use it completely if thawed. Otherwise put back inside immediately.

There may be regulations for that like adding preservatives to match the criteria. So please use this for personal use only.
@@m4mathees965 I would believe getting air out would give long storage. When storing any meats if air get to it its burned. Why they wrap plastic and paper to protect the plastic from holes. I think any products same. Thats my theory I'm going for long term storage. Vaper seal bags.
