Music lovers, art lovers in general, spend a lot of time looking for that thing that reconstitutes your soul by a degree or two. This song is ethereal. The photographer was extremely talented. Perfect soundtrack. Devastating.

After that you can go in numerous directions - from ballads, to ‘80s pop, electronica, folksy music, jazzy stuff, Depeche Mode covers, “music for people in trouble,” and more. She likes to change things up. One of her most recent songs is called “Reincarnation”, incidentally. She’s won 5 equivalents of the Grammy award.

I have seen this reaction before, came across it again. It is hauntingly beautiful. Lene Marie Fossen was an autodidact Norwegian photographer. She rejected the linear progression of time that forced her to go through puberty and stopped eating at the tender age of 10. She struggled with anorexia for the rest of her life. Fossen chose to be open about her disease and found her means of expression in photography.
She is best known for her revealing self-portraits, captured in an abandoned lepra hospital in Chios, Greece. Fossen was a master of composition, color and light, and her soulful portraits of victims of the refugee crisis on the island of Chios in Greece also bear witness of a unique photographer. ‘My photographs are not about Anorexia’ she said, ‘they are about human suffering.’
I am inspired to witness that even trough this struggle she was able to give us the wonderful gift of her art

when some other Norwegian singers were being recommended to me as a fan of Angelina and Aurora, Susanne Sundfor was mentioned....and I had much the same reaction as you when I landed on this video as first listen. Absolutely beautiful video and song... and profoundly disturbing and sad. One commenter said the people in the photo exhibition were all the leading photographers in the country....

thank you, for this reaction. You're one of few on TH-cam that do react to this wonderful musician. Susanne Sundfør is a treasure, and should really have had more recognition for her siger/songwriter talent. She captures emotions with her voice, the same way Lene Marie Fossen captured peoples emotions through pictures
When life throws you fastbolls you just have to hope that you are one of the skilled cathcers.
Theres something so raw in this video that It's hard to rewiew.
There's angelic voices, sadness and menthal health issues here.
This is art accompanying art leading to death.
Art can hurt, but it's also what you grow your understanding of the world from.
It's a heart rending reality in society, that *'image'* holds such sway.
And have done so for generations. Decades upon decades.(it's how we lost Karen Carpenter too)
Yet, even in this so-called, enlightened time, there is still such a stigma attached to it, that we *seldom* hear it discussed. Even now,
Unless someone you know is suffering. Or has suffered.
Seldom to a happy ending.
Parents shouldn't be afraid to discuss this debilitating disease with their children, girls AND boys, because eating disorders don't discriminate between sexes. To strive to shine a light on this culture of self-hate, and critical judgement, self or otherwise, of appearance/weight.
Please, everyone, educate yourselves, and your child(ren) Learn the signs, even amongst your friends. Realize there is almost always other underlying issues/causes involved, not just anorexia/bulimia
It could save someone you love.
No, it is not for public consumption, because consumption is not the right word. It is for public empathy, compassion and humbleness.

The thing to realize is choosing this Journey her aim was also to educate those who knew her, those who met her, and those that have and will see here photography (Art). Her Memory is to be Loved, Cherished, and Remembered, Always. FYI, this no way to start a Sunday - Stay You : )

Ever seen the Tom Cruise film....'Oblivion'? The only thing I know about Susanne Sundfor....is that she sang over the end credits. A group called M83...composed the soundtrack (..M83 'Oblivion' featuring Susanne Sundfor..) I bought the film on DVD, having missed it in the theater. i can highly reccomend the interview attached. its done by the older guy giving lene a big hug in the gallery. it's about her life, her work and how people react to her, especially people she ist taking photos of. and its also so sad, because you see how sick she is, and still she hopes for recovery.

The pics we see in the video is Syrian refugees in the Greek island of Chios. They are stranded there cause European Countries cant deside what to ‘ do with them’ 😭😔

I believe it is because they dont want to take a stance on Chios ownership, it is debated between turkey and greece. Correct me if Im wrong, but they would bring them to europe if they could.

Loved to have met lene Marie fossen great video on sandras song that’s my favourite song love all her songs you should watch nostalgia lene marie is interviewing with morten krogvold she enjoyed going to Greece Chios every summer and winter that was her passion in life to take pictures of the children and the elderly people love her closeups and black and white I want to do this when COVID is over go to Greece Chios she took pictures of the refugees she was a talented young lady they will all miss her so much that she is gone on October 22nd 2020 it was a year that she passed I lit candles to remember her prayed for her dear family 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🤗🤗😇😇😭😭love your family beautiful names for your sweet girls stay safe

It's funny you say you believe in reincarnation, one of Susanne's songs is called Reincarnation and the opening line is "do you believe in reincarnation?".
I honestly hate the "trigger warnings" people give when requesting this song, this is for public consumption, the whole idea of a trigger warning goes against the entire point of the documentary, and the last wishes of Lene Marie. We can't make people recognize the horror of things like anorexia without confronting it, and trigger warnings are the antithesis of confrontation.
