There is no mentioning of the largest Black Subdivision in the South of the Cities where predominantly Black Families have been living since the late 50's... Nor the Downtown Olde Towne Subdivision Neighborhood of the Cities, and the City Building newer Homes in all areas of the City, where they are demon itlion older parcels of vacant lands...Been away for 40 yrs. Came back home to live. There is no place lack .amen.pastorhelen7@gmail.com
Cavalier Manor of various times incomes, housing, that are high end and affordable too the vast families in HRoads, also Xpress 264 with connections to other communities, even the HomeTown feel of a Neighborhood of many diverse cultures...Amen. pastorhelen7@gmail.com
I bought a home, last year, in Cavalier Manor. It is the side closest to Lake Cavalier. It is quiet and peaceful here. And the home are affordable and beautiful too.
Hi Lisa! Yes!!! I love Cavalier Manor! I have a close friend who grew up there, also. There's a lot of value in that neighborhood! Were you over on the side near Crystal Lake Dr?
Great point about considering additional costs to living in certain neighborhoods such as the property taxes and road tolls. Great tour of the different neighborhoods - I think I prefer the homes with character and being close to downtown.
I just left there. It's not the same as it was growing up for me personally. There's SOOOO much crime now. I grew up there & still miss it. I still go back to visit a lot because everyone I know is there.
Suffocated by tolls, the highest real estate taxes in the Hampton Rodas, and the city council will not hold a vote to become a 2A Sanctuary city. Mayflower park/Hodges Manor (Elizabeth Manor), P-town resident since 2002.
The vote to be a 2A Sanctuary city did happen in favor of the 2nd amendment. www.13newsnow.com/article/news/politics/portsmouth-city-council-to-vote-on-adopting-second-amendment-resolution/291-47d268d4-1eb5-4523-ba3d-6970c1b26a87 www.wavy.com/news/local-news/portsmouth/portsmouth-city-council-expected-to-consider-2nd-amendment-related-resolution-tuesday/ Living in Yorktown, Williamsburg, Richmond, and Virginia Beach, I can say I really don't mind the taxes due to the more affordable houses. Paying $3k a year in taxes instead of buying an equivalent home for nearly $100k more is something I truly don't mind, though I also wish it was lower. I think the city would be better off with a lower real estate tax. Lastly, I do hate those tolls. Awesome access everywhere, except those tolls can really bury your wallet. I'm no economist, nor will I claim to know jack about it, but I honestly wonder if the city would boom if those tolls were near to none. Due to the great access, I think night life could potentially hit many cities and make a lot of money, but before I lived in Portsmouth, I went around those tolls whenever I could. Waterview resident 2020 - I'm new, so maybe I'm just wrong :)
You totally missed the at least the top 5 neighborhood in Portsmouth.... River Pointe. It includes several small sections, some new and the oldest I believe is 1995. It's patrolled 7 days a week by Portsmouth Police as a side job ( easy money, because crime is null), manicured lawns, because the HOA is a pain in the a#@. Rent restricted, so pride of home ownership shows. Check it out.
Such a great neighborhood suggestion. This is an awesome one, especially for the price! And yeah, HOAs can be difficult sometimes, but there are a lot of benefits, like many of the things you're saying! Thanks for bringing this one up!
Don't pay over 250k for anything in Ptown honestly. The crime & taxes aren't worth it. That place has been going downhill big time over the past 10 years ever since they tore down all of those cheap brick apartments over there. It all started w/Academy Park being torn down in the late 90's. More were torn down in the mid 2000's and it just got horrid after that. Cradock was wrecked.

Excellent information- it was great the way you broke down the numbers and compared the different cities. Nice job!!!
Thank you very much, Kathie!
I agree. I really like Waterview & Glensheallah also.
Right?! The homes right on the water in Waterview are some of my favorites in the city.

Understanding all costs is really helpful in considering the whole picture, thanks
Thanks for watching, Alyson!

Absolutely! Me too! There are some neighborhoods close to downtown that also have character, but those are higher in price for sure.
Lot of great information! Great breakdown of affordability per neighborhood.
Thanks, Nicole!
I love your tours.
Thanks, Amy!
I loved how you compared the cost of living between the areas.
Thanks, Angela!
Great information. Important information to buyers needing to know different locations will have higher costs.
Yes! That's one of the specific reasons why I made this one.
I can't believe I'm actually sitting here and talking to this youtube star right now!!! Another bomb video!!
YEAH! I try to stay in touch with the people whenever I can.
Such a helpful breakdown of the costs, nicely done!
Thanks and thanks for watching, Patrick!
Love your neighbourhood videos.
Yes!! Thanks, Ugo! I'm so glad.
great video!
Apprecaite it, Scott!
West Park View & Shea Terrace both seem really nice, & when homes might come up for rent, will probably be in my budget!! yay :)
Yes!! And West Park View is one of my favorites.
Take 64 or the high rise bridge to avoid the tolls. Thank you for showing OTHER neighborhoods in Portsmouth besides just Old Towne.
I really miss Portsmouth
I just left there. It's not the same as it was growing up for me personally. There's SOOOO much crime now. I grew up there & still miss it. I still go back to visit a lot because everyone I know is there.
@@elizabeth-2213 yeah I grew up there too I feel you dude I left there last October it still pains me to realize it'll never be the same
Wow, such a difference: tolls, taxes it all ads up. I liked Waterview as well.
Waterview is my fav!!!
Interesting how those extra tolls and taxes add up!
EXACTLY! I try to review this with each buyer to make sure they're counting the costs.

It’s pronounced Glen-Sheila lol

I gotta disagree with Bier Gardens. My personal opinion is Rodger Browns in downtown Portsmouth.
+Vlogs A to Z to be honest that’s my second favorite! I love going to RB’s on Sundays to watch football, also. Their TVs are great!
I didn't watch the whole thing, like if they said eagle point
