  • In this video, we’re gonna walk around a Toyota dealership and check out some of the new 2024 Toyota tundras and talk about why sales are up for the 2024 tundra even though it’s been a very bad year considering they had a huge recall and a lot of owners are experiencing complete engine failure, but they probably won’t beat their 2007 record for nearly 200,000 units sold but they might be close

These will be bulletproof in a few years. Even older Toyota motors had problems. 2010 4.6L had 100,000+ motor recalls. No that motor is bulletproof. The good thing about Toyota is they will get it figured out. They always have.

And they have. Free motor coming my way!! Nothing wrong with my 23 but I’ll take it.

@johndelossantos1572 a recall never expires. No sense in rushing to get the new motor if yours is fine. Put some miles on what you have , then get the new motor.

Toyota doesn’t have a lot of anything on the lots and if they it’s xse trim or limited in other models which pushes them into tundra territory
Person goes car shopping at Toyota dealer and sees a bunch of tundras
Drive away today maybe a discount no waiting
So perhaps they were looking for a taco or highlander or grand highlander or even landcruiser
    Grand highlander is stop sale
    Highlander is not that available
Taco is less available and cramped
But that tundra is just sitting there saying what about me I am big and strong
Like a siren calling customers to their doom
    Many can’t resist
    So that is the reason
Sales people are putting customers in tundra 😅

Debris in the engine and a bad wastegate. Two unfortunate problems. Other than that, in the end these engines are fantastic!

That’s what Toyota wants! Toyota wants to have a lot of trucks on lots so customers have options when purchasing. Seeing all these trucks on lots is normal

Toyota Tundras made in Texas not any better than Toyota Tacomas made in Mexico.
And my Toyota 2014 FJ Cruiser still humming along w/o any issues being Made in Japan.
If a domestic American manufacturer had to replace the motor on a 100,000 recalled vehicles they wouldn't do it. If a domestic American manufacturer had to replace the entire rusted out frame on a comparable Tacoma truck they would never do it. Besides being known to be "bullet proof" Toyota honors their responsibility as a manufacturer when boo boos are made. But what's really obvious is that Toyota is willing to promote their vehicles with lower interest rate incentives and huge discounts from MSRP. Although there are some folks out there that can afford a $121,999 Grand Jeep Cherokee or some fancy pancy F150 platinum premium primo north of $85,999 trophy truck but these instances are not Toyota customers. Yeah I was surprised that Tundras are doing well sales up 30% YOY. But why was I surprised? This is Toyota we're talking about after all.

Toyota surely does (did) random quality inspections of it's engines. Surely, they found the issue way before customers did? Surely, this would standard operating procedure to check out the assembled engine when switching to a new one and new assembly lines for it? I can remember going through the Georgetown, KS assembly and they did yank a body every now and then to inspect the alignment and welds.

I don't see any deal like these in Wichita, KS. You'd have to really work for a $7,000 discount here (my guess).

Those are pretty good points. I’m sure dealers are losing money on them. I’ve seen them offer Tundras for 60monts 0% interest rates too.
I do think people still think that Toyota are reliable. However another part of that reliability reputation is the fact if something does goes wrong it’s going to get fixed like Tundra’s engine recall and Toyota Kaizen philosophy of fixing things. I honestly don’t think Toyota could’ve afford long term if they hadn’t fully replace the Tundra engine.

Some dealers are buying down the rate to 0%
It’s just crazy to see this happen to Toyota
I feel sorry for someone that paid full MSRP in 2021
Toyota has never been known to do huge dealer discount
      Thanks for watching

How many ppl do research? How many ppl google their next vehicle?
Can decide which in is trash 3g Toyota tundra or Jim Norton Toyota in Tulsa 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ I had multiple issue with tundra until they asked me not to come back lol😂 most dealer they want to make money out of u the more issues u have the more money they make in the service department.
How they have the best year ever when the lot is full of tundra? They even had hail damage sale for 2 months.
They pulled all other vehicles of the lot and kept the tundra so it catch customer’s eye fast, with huge discounts.
When I got mine in 2023 I had to wait a months to get it. Yea right just don’t do it don’t buy tundra

Yeah, the sales figures are really surprising. It probably won’t be the best year ever but it’s gonna be close.
I hate to hear you’ve had a bad experience at Jim Norton i’m still trying to get something fixed on my Toyota. It’s still under factory warranty.
Jim Norton keeps saying they cannot find the issue I’ve had this happen before and I had to ride with the mechanic and it was so easy to find what was going on. You could hear it.
Luckily, I get a loaner car every time so it’s not a huge inconvenience but I’ve definitely heard allegedly of some massive up selling when it’s not needed out of there service department
