@@jarlbalgruuf8375 Nightblade is next, so definitely this week. I am trying to get the rest out as fast as I can 🤩 Awesome to see people excited about our vids!
@@NinjaPulls I've tested zaans compared to the mythics (harpooners kilt, ur mage, death dealers)zaans always, outperforms by a lot on my magplar specifically something you should look into lmk if you get different results 😊
Yes I test everything like this. Ur-Mage has been top in all Templar tests for over a year now, but since it replaces a fairly flat amount of DPS from Light Attacks with a % bonus, its effectiveness depends on a tight rotation and especially the execute. This is why offering build advice is so hard, because it can vary literally from player to player.
Proper Corpse management is also really important. i love the complexity of the class and its nice to see Kaan actually showing that the "dead" class is actually not that bad you just need to think ALOT more than Arkaanist.
I genuinely enjoy people who do necro content ! I love necro, it is my main since its release. I love the fantasy and i never run score runs so being 10k behind in dps has never been a problem. Thanks for the video, a lot of people do NOT know how to play necro and blame the class instead of learning it. I've created a RP frost necro build which works extremely well while able to get 110k in content, and it also works in arenas/IA. Once again, thank you for the video, lets hope more people try out this unique amazing class ( my personal opinion ) !
Thanks for the skill bar options. That really clarifies something ive always struggled with. The res is an amazing alt. Saved many groups from wipes with it. I do need to try runecarver again. I do wish they made bb cost the highest resource. I sometimes run of stam during a block mech and die
I have been a necromancer main for the longest time now nearly launch and no more. I hate how awkward its become and am moving to the Arcanist soon. I CAN do damage but the amount of work needed is like 25x the amount of work needed to do the same damage as others. In my middle age skin conditions prevent me from wanting to move to fast and frequently if I want to heal.
One thing, if using skull as a spammable you really should keep boneyard on your front bar, and move trap to back. The gravelord passive is stronger than the fighters guild passive, and having boneyard on your frontbar will double the amount of level 3 skulls you throw.
Thanks for the comment. Slayer vs Death Knell has been tested and this is not what I've found, even after the buff. Skull has also been tested. I already throw twice as many big Skulls as regular ones due to Blastbones every 3s and the fact that Skull is cast so infrequently, so slotting Boneyard on the front bar probably wouldn't add more than one or two per minute. Doesn't mean you're wrong, just that it's not that simple and the results can vary depending on the setup and even player execution. P.S. I tend to use a DOT rotation in trials anyway.
Hey there - I actually went back and tested again (why am I like this?). Both setups are hitting 125-126k for me, but Barbed Trap front bar pulls ahead in 3/3 tests just as before. Only by 1k DPS on average, so like I said player execution could probably swing that. As for the big Skulls, putting Boneyard on the front bar only added 2 more in 3 minutes, so it's only worth slotting for that particular interaction if you've taken DOTs out of the rotation and are spamming Skull a lot more often (dungeons, for instance). Anyway now I need to get back to work, but thanks again for the distraction - join the Discord and hit me if you wanna do some more Necro theorycrafting!
I took a couple of breaks from eso and still run staff instead of daggers on my dk and necro. I managed about 80+k dps. Guess my question is is staff capable of doing 115k+ dps or do i need daggers
Staff front bars are fine situationally, and work great on damage classes which skew heavily into one damage TYPE (e.g. DOTs for Arcanists or direct damage for Sorcerers). Necromancer has a mix of everything, so a staff front bar is fundamentally weaker and there’s rarely any Destruction skills that we want to use on the front bar anyway. But for default damage setups for group content: if you want range, I’d suggest a Bow. And if range doesn’t matter (most of the time it doesn’t) then yes Dual Wield (not necessarily Daggers) will work great.
I'm tempted to give Necro a go, but I'm kinda 'scared' of being bad at it. And from what I'm noticing in your videos going staff magicka caster archetype for stuff isn't that much of a thing anymore which is unfortunate. ah well, I'll figure something out.
You mentioned maelstrom 2h buffs the runecarver set. How does the damage from runecarver work? Is it a proc for separate damage or does it increase base damage like draugrkin would? If it is a proc, is that damage single target dot or direct? ZOS needs to word and list these things better.
I actually made a whole video on this when the set released! It's a separate proc of direct damage, triggered by every third tick of a DOT, per target. Here's the vid if you want more details: th-cam.com/video/TiZ-HNabOuk/w-d-xo.html Obviously it's over a year old and some things have changed, but the way the set works remains the same. Hope that helps!
It's absolutely not dead. In scorepush trial groups you still see more DKs and Arcanists, but Necromancer is underrated. It did take a big hit in U35 and was weak for a while after that, but that was long ago. There are no recent 'nerfs' to speak of, and quite a few buffs actually. Do don't worry, just make sure your setup is up to date and keep on Necroing!
Not necessarily. Some are dependent on slotting a specific type of ability, while others must be triggered by killing an enemy, consuming a corpse etc. But you’re right that so long as you’ve put points into them, they will work.
Timestamps are auto-generated by TH-cam, almost never by the user. But if it would help to put markers in just for Grave Lord, Bone Tyrant and Living Death, plus a couple of other things, I’d be happy to.
Why master at arms and deadly aim with a flame staff back bar if all of your skills get buffed more from thaum and biting aura ? In content by the way/EC stam cro
The CPs are correct. The Runecarver setup at 21:52 is 62% direct damage, so it's better than Thaumaturge by a long way. People too often assume that Thaumaturge is the default for Necro. The only way to be sure is to do the math for every setup. Hope that helps - good luck with it.
Absolutely amazing video, I’ve rarely seen other guides go so in depth. Do you have any guides for warden or nightblade in a similar style?
Yes they're on the way - I'm going alphabetically so Nightblade is next (my personal favourite). Thanks so much for the kind words!
@@NinjaPulls great to hear! When can we expect it? I’m eager to watch. Great videos as always!

Hard agree with all of this!
Thank you so much for taking the time to post.

I had no idea that necros have their own damage and crit buffs on siphon and skeletal now! I did not pay attention to that! Thank you so much!
🤘 one hell of a break down. Thank you!!
Thank you! Glad you liked it 🤩
perfect timing, i needed this one!
Awesome! Enjoy ☺️
Looking forward to your video on Nightblade. My favorite class in the game, and most build videos don't go into the why's like you do.
Nightblade coming later this week 🤩
And thank you for your kind words.
Always fun to see necro content on here, thanks Kaan - Ashur'gul
Thank you! Really appreciate the feedback!
Thank you for another amazing video!

It's funny how similar your Necromancer looks to mine.
Thx for the amazing video… on Biss setup which skill woulf u change for a healskills? Carve?
Sure you can drop Carve, especially in shorter fights where it isn't as good.
nice one brother ty
Thanks very much!

Why does everyone call this class dead when I see them in every other piece of group content I run every day lol
How did you get your character to look like that…looks so good 😂
He looks like he wants to buy your babies skin. An appropriate look for a necromancer.
Hope they soon, make skeletal mage, archer same as sorc pets... Then I will start playing Necro 😊
How do the update 44 changes to grave grasp fit in on stamcro?
Ninja, in your opinion do you think the necro class is dead due to ZOS nerfing it to oblivion and not giving any good buffs lately?
It's absolutely not dead. In scorepush trial groups you still see more DKs and Arcanists, but Necromancer is underrated. It did take a big hit in U35 and was weak for a while after that, but that was long ago. There are no recent 'nerfs' to speak of, and quite a few buffs actually. So is it doable for me being a magicka necro, to use the stamina morphs, like the archer and blast bones?
Yes. Archer and blastbones are still preferred for damage output.. no matter if magcro or stamcro
I'm full on magicka with a high elf, why are they all stamina, damn...
Sorry, what’s “all Stamina”? Feel free to join the Discord and hit me up (Kaan) for any advice if you need!
necro enjoyer and sad still since they killed the best class out there xD cheers
Necro is fine. Definitely not dead 🤩. Made a video about it just a few weeks ago: th-cam.com/video/iuNOHJs_UUY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_rrcPt_6Z14JcDRl
Question. Passive Abilities, are these not active all the time?
Not necessarily. Some are dependent on slotting a specific type of ability, while others must be triggered by killing an enemy, consuming a corpse etc. But you’re right that so long as you’ve put points into them, they will work.
You need timestamps in this man. Without them it makes it annoying AF trying to come back and recheck something.
Timestamps are auto-generated by TH-cam, almost never by the user. But if it would help to put markers in just for Grave Lord, Bone Tyrant and Living Death, plus a couple of other things, I’d be happy to.
SCRAAAAMM! BACK OFF, BUDDY! He's doing his best there, PAL!
I know I ask this a lot so plz forgive me 🙏🙏🙏. what's your style pages
