  • In this vlog we travel to Apia, Samoa to surprise Shahnee’s dad who has been working clearing land and cropping a new taro plantation. Our kids missed their grandpa over the Christmas period & new years. Because we were flying to Fiji we thought we would take a short trip to Samoa and also kept it a suprise from most of our family to have less chance of ruining the suprise. The hardest part was finding the house since the last time we traveled to Samoa was 2017 so barely recognised the roads. We only had one child in 2017 & now we have 3 so it’s a blessing to be able to bring them to the homeland.
    I broke one of my sd cards & lost half my content so this is only a short video of the suprise & the second part Shahnee takes you on a tour of her old home where they stayed in the 90’s while mum & dad were starting up the Apia McDonald’s Franchise.
    From the humble beginnings of Fasito’o tai we wanted to bring our children here so they can see where & how we grew up, that things are not always that easy. To appreciate the little things so they can be grateful for what we have. A good reminder for us as well.

    Thanks for the video guys. That is awesome love the old house that your dad has built just like I was in the Cook Islands. I taught your old man put there and it’s you the kids that need to define it and make it better for your children to come back from Australia or New Zealand have holidaysall our islands and Pacifica the most beautiful things that our parents can leave us. Keep up the good work, love you guys.

    By any chance does anyone remember Alofa being a letter written in the stars? Alofa is the basis of all positive societies, Whanau. The Alofa letter was introduced by very ancient people. Anyways love the vid of living memories Arohanui from Aotearoa.

    Did I see solomon Island?

    • @Travel-Lish
      @Travel-Lish  9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi.
      Yes you sure did. Some of the villages represent other countries. I’m not sure of the reasoning maybe someone on here can explain.
      But that village is called Aleisa where my grandfather lived & I know some of them are of Solomon Island decent.
      If there’s anyone on here that reads this feel free to elaborate as I would love to know more as well.

      @@Travel-Lish Samoa held the last Climate Change Forum and each village were given an overseas nation to host. Fasito'otai hosted Bangladesh and Aleisa hosted Solomon Island.
