i imagine it's because they're very hard to catch, low catch rate and if you fail the catch during a nuzlocke you don't get another chance until the next zone. not to mention they're very strong so they can kill his current pokémon and again it's a nuzlocke so if it dies that pokémon is out. pretty sure it was for strategy, but had a side effect of being funny 😂

Ok look Cosmoem usually has sturdy which I totally definitely remembered and was banking on, it's been a tough day and the economy is in shambles and I can't be expected to remember everything
I did a randomized nuzlocke in a pokemon fusion game and happened to find a shedinja I got it fused it with a dark type I had and sweeped the game because no one had fairy type because there were no pokemon that learned fairy type moves naturally
This just gave me a cool idea, a rom hack or something like that, which makes the game a lot harder, all main fights have 6 Pokémon, and a built in nuzlocke death rule
I actually recently found out that, since I was trying my first sword and shield nuzlocke, every Pokémon you catch needs to be hidden. I’m not accusing you of not doing this, but since you cut out the video when you were catching most of the Pokémon I just wanted to let you know if you didn’t.
Not necessarily. There's no official set of rules that dictates every encounter must be a random encounter, and as long as you get "the first encounter" if that's the first pokemon you see, fish, shake out of a tree, or get in a random encounter, it's fair game. The whole point of a challenge run is to tweak the rules to your liking, and Quinn can do whatever he wants without being "wrong"
Lmao he doesn't "have" to catch hidden encounters. It's his own rules he wants to play by. And there's literally nowhere that says you must use hidden encounters anyway, it's all personal preference.
