Probably as an effect of being neutered, to prevent reproduction, which is a policy based on ethical conservation in captivity. Furthermore in some places, like sub-Sahara, there are prides of maneless lions or lions with substantially less manes than we often see. I suppose in this case it is because of the first reason.🦁😌
