Does the PowerView app have a low battery indicator? My shades were installed at different times with the lithium batteries and so I have no idea when they will need to be recharged. Thank you for the video! It was very helpful.
Hello Rachel. Yes, when you use the PowerView App, you can open the specific shade and look for where it says “Power”. It will tell you how the power is coming across to the system. It should be green and say “Good”.
They probably will hold the battery, but know that they make clips that will attach to your shade and hold the battery pack. This method avoids drilling any holes in your trim. I hope that is helpful to you.
@@paulkempler642 Thank for your reply. I was aware of that, but had been told that they do not come with the wand and are "not readily available". Is there an online place I can but the wands, charger and those clips?
I believe the answer to be yes. Though, my only experience with recharging lithium Ion batteries is with other company's products. With theirs, yes, it works as soon as plugged in. I'm assuming the technology is identical.
My batteries are not holding a charge. Everything I have read says the charge should last a year ..... im getting about a week with opening and closing once a day. Any thoughts? Thank you
I'm very sorry to hear that. Yes, there is a problem with a certain batch of motors. Your issue of battery drainage is the symptom. If you contact the company you purchased from, they will replace the motors. At least be confident that when the new motors are installed you will have long term use. Thanks for watching.
Hi, great video, very helpful and HD should use this as a reference !! Great touch with the explanation between alkaline and lion battery’s and the way it. Will stop… Now I have a question on the PowerView and battery level, will the indicator worked with this new battery ? It does not work for the alkaline (reading always full…) ? Thanks …
Great question!! I am going to do a video that asks the question. Hopefully we will get comments and responses that will tell us what people find is true with their batteries. I agree with you, the indicators are almost a “I wish” section of the app. Let’s see what people have to say. You may want to follow my channel so you find the answer to your question. I don’t have a formal answer to your question, thus this reply. Thanks so much for the kind words.
Please contact me or Hunter Douglas to determine exactly what you have. There is a DC power supply available through Hunter Douglas and it currently is 18V, but I need to know the age of your shades and the size too. The power supply retails for around a $100, but you can probably find it for less. th-cam.com/video/UFpXwKlr7rY/w-d-xo.html
@@PaulKempler Thank you for taking the time to reply. I have spoken with the Hunter Douglas dealer that we had ordered our blinds from. Since our project wasn't ready for our blinds to be installer, we were able to add the appropriate plug in power supplyto our blind purchase. Thanks again!
I had a chat with some higher ups at Hunter Douglas and they had the same question. One thing I can share is that Hunter Douglas is being careful lately to only provide products that have been very well tested. We are about to get new information as to what is new to the industry. We will be sharing this information within the next couple of weeks. Please check out those videos when we post them. Good question though. Let’s see where it goes.
I really like the idea of using a rechargeable. However, this solution is far too expensive. One vendor wants $105 per wand and $120 for the charger. It is cheaper to buy AA rechargeables.
I appreciate your feedback. Yes, new technology is not inexpensive, but most of my clientele feel like it is a choice worth making. I get calls from people all over the country asking for these battery packs. I am happy to place their orders for them. But with people who feel that they would rather not spend the extra money, I completely respect them. Thanks for watching the video anyway. - Paul
Thank so you much. Very clear and helpful instructions.
Thanks for the info. It was very helpful. I will be installing 30 units soon and didn't have any of this info. to guide me.
Great info. Thanks!

Great video! I do not want to drill into my window frame...would 3m Commmand strips hold it horizontally?

Do you have a way to safely access the charging port if its mounted 20 feet high?
I'd be happy to go over the options with you. Please call me. Go to the website for the phone number. www.kemplerdesign.com

Thanks for the info! One question, will the shade still operate during charging?

If I have very high up shades, can they place the satellite battery pack lower?
Absolutely!! You can get the extension cables in sizes of 15”, 4’, 10’ or 20’. Very simple to do.

Could you please leave me a link to the black charger?
Give us a call and we will have it mailed to you. Our website is kemplerdesign.com. I’m not aware of a link to the device.
How long does it hold a charge if used daily?
Depends on the size of the shade, but the standard answer is one year.
Hello, what is the actual DC voltage for a power view system? I would like to purchase a plugin DC power supply to eliminate the batteries?
TY

Why can’t they offer a solar panel option to charge the batteries? Other companies have it and I want the solar for HD.

Talk a little faster and like we’re not idiots… it should not be 7 minutes long.
