Jennie and Lisa rap because they’re the rappers. In kpop there’s no like random member. All members have a job and the job is stated. Mains are the best. Leads are second best. Blackpink when they came out was stated as follows
Jisoo- visual, vocalist
Jennie- lead singer, main rapper
Lisa- lead rapper, main dancer
Rose- lead dancer, main singer
There’s no like random role in kpop. Everything is assigned. The only difference with Blackpink is that most kpop groups have a leader and Blackpink and YG has made it clear that they do not. They all know their role and they know the group wouldn’t be the same if one of them weren’t there. They aren’t as large of a group member wise so it’s easier. When you have 16 members you need a leader. You don’t with 4 insanely talented girls that carry their own weight.
