BTS turns every award show into their own concert. And the ARMY also reciprocates the energy they give. Every live performance does not disappoint. This is for sure. They set the standard so high when it comes to it. I remember how they performed dynamite for about 30+ times but none has the same concept and production. This is one of the many reasons someone will fall into the rabbit hole. 💜💜💜

I want to be kind, but it is obvious that you are not dancers. All of the dances were meticulously choreographed. Also, Jimin received an award from a society in Korea dedicated to the ancient art of fan dancing. Lastly, the song Idol in all of it's iterations is a homage to Korean traditions as well as other cultures whose dance moves are incorporated into the choreography

In all of their award show performances, they incorporate images from the music video of the song. Those of us who watch these MVs multiple times, recognize it.
They performed their nominated song Butter at the 2022 Grammy’s. Jin had broken his finger and had surgery just before heading to the US. He couldn’t dance. I think JK and J-Hope tested positive for Covid when they got to the US and had to quarantine. This impacted their rehearsals and preparation for the performance. Despite all the setbacks, they still pulled off an incredible performance. There is a definite difference in the Asian award show and the Vegas Grammy audience. Would love to see a reaction someday!

3: Jimin was presented with a plaque of appreciation by the Kim Baek Bong Korean Fan Dance Conservation Society for performing the traditional Buchaechum Fan Dance
4. In Idol BTS are wearing traditional Hanboks. The song and MV was in response to people critisising BTS for being too westernised.
"Airplane Pt.2," the term "El Mariachi" refers to a style of traditional Mexican music characterized by its distinctive instrumentation and rhythms. The song incorporates elements of Latin music, and the reference to "El Mariachi" reflects the group's exploration of different musical styles and cultures.
ALSO, another point of view - “El Mariachi” translates to the word “musician.” It originally came from the movie “El Mariachi” which was about a guy who sang romance but nobody liked that about him-but he never cared and continued to sing romance wherever he went and whenever he sang. In Airplane Pt. 2 I think it compares that to the old days of BTS and how they continued to sing their songs wherever they went and didn’t care that people didn’t like them or their songs. In the lyrics it says “Wherever in the world, I will sing” which connects that they won’t care and don’t care about who dislikes their music. That they will continue to share their music and passion with the world.
ARMY's are always amped up for BTS, especially at major award shows, and concerts. You can't compare fandoms, ARMY's are over 350 million Globally. If you look at their numbers, BTS are on a different level, way ahead of any of the KPOP groups, and that is why they aren't considered just a K-Pop group any more. They are just Global Super Stars and Mainstream artists.
Thee award show performance would definitely be MMA 2019, I think most ARMYs would agree. My personal 2. and 3. would be this one and then MAMA 2020. 💜

I love the way they banked so much to come out when they are in the army.. I have been addicted to Sugas SUCHWITA its the best talk show. People being alcohol ghey drink talk and eat. RM is hot an album coming out. I have no idea what it will be like? INDIGO was so different from MONO so I expect RIGHT PERSON WRONG PLACE will be different again. After all on Indigo every track was a different genre. I saw him refer to it as more fun?

All their performances are great! But, as for me, BTS’s performance at MMA 2019 was the most legendary and the best!
But this performance at MMA 2018 includes their equally iconic songs! Some of their best songs are “Fake Love”, “Airplane pt.2” and “Idol”, which brought them incredible popularity all over the world and many awards.
And, yes, you are right - in the song "Airplane pt.2", in a sense, there is a reference to Robert Rodriguez's 1992 film "El Mariachi" (it was the first of the trilogy). Only in the film is a poor, unknown person a musician comes to the city to try his luck and become famous, but ends up in hell, as he is mistaken for a murderer and is eventually taken for weapons..
And BTS made a kind of analogy with this musician in the film, only they made it their own story.. They sing about how they were children who did different things, but always wanted to sing and make music. And when they seemed to have come to their dream, they were faced with disappointment, hate, injustice and much more. But they didn’t give up, although there was still the same hate and they were in pain. And they continued to be where they had always been since their debut - in the air on an airplane, flying from one country to another and giving concerts. They became number one, but the hate did not decrease and the problems did not decrease. But they are still the same as before, they, no matter what, continue own way. Someone succeeded in one thing and changed, someone gave up their dreams.. But they are still the same. They are El Mariachi..

And the dance performance that was performed before the start of the song “Idol”, the best dancers, in my opinion, not only BTS, but also K-pop - the wonderful 3J: J-Hope, Jimin and Jungkook - it’s just a masterpiece!

The answer to your question is that Jhope's Idol dance was choreographed, not freestyled. There are rehearsal clips. The production for this song- traditional musicians, dancers and instruments- was direct clapback to criticism that they were becoming "too westernized".
