I have never seen a tutorial go so much into detail! I can't tell you how much I appreciate that!!!! Could you do a video on making a "Be Right Back" screen and a "Chat" screen?
Your step by step really helped me out. Sometimes it's those tiny tiny things that you miss. I really appreciate you taking the time to literally zoom on everything. THAT's is patience with editing. Thank you
i have referred back to this so many times even for the simplest goof ups I've made for some redirection or to see what I did wrong. love this video so much and her voice is so calming ♥
This is just the thing that I needed! I was looking endlessly for images that could go for overlay, but none of them really hit the thing that I wanted. Now I can make my own! Thank you! ❤️
Gonna echo what a lot of other people said and offer the biggest thanks for being so thorough in your explanations. Other videos show the what, how, or why, but you do all three and you make it make sense.
This was an amazing tutorial! Photoshop has always intimidated me, but you made it so easy to understand and follow along! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
I just used this tutorial to make a few new overlays for an upcoming interview I'll be doing on twitch! Very straightforward! Thank you!!! If you ever make a follow up to this, I know I spent way too much time deciding on my background, so helping an indecisive streamer zero in on what will fit their brand and also look good would be helpful. Also, the importance of saving *often* (my browser crashed right when I finished one of the overlays. womp womp!). Thanks again, Ms. Shady!
Hey, I love the tutorial! Im struggling with borders for game play tho. Iv'e followed the steps, but when I try to use 'stroke' on the game play box it outlines the box and the square around it?
thank you so much! i just made my first overlay and i had so much fun doing it. thank you for this helpful tutorial! i know nothing about this stuff but with some trial and error i was able to follow along and completed an overlay!
poppin in real quick to say thank you in advance for this vid - i'm gonna watch it as soon as i have more time!! i always look forward to watching your vids (literally regardless of content, lol
Thank you so much! You explained it with such great detail and I really appreciate it. I also wanted to add, I created my own starting soon screen using this same tutorial! thank you again.
Thank you sooooo much. I didn't think I was savvy enough to make my own but you made it so simple. I made one to start off with that I actually really like!
Could you make a video on how to use this overlay on Streamlabs step by step, I still haven’t managed to get the hang of Streamlabs and I’m having some trouble with my overlay when I paste it on my Streamlabs since my gameplay doesn’t really fit and it also covers my camera :( Other than that, this video was so fun and helpful to create an overlay from scratch! Thank you so much!
Wow, I meant to save this to watch later when I'm at my computer but now I'm already 15 minutes in and still glued. And until I read the other comments, I didn't realize this was just uploaded 4 days ago. That's perfect timing for me. I just started streaming and need A LOT of help. 😅 Now if only I had any design talent. I need to figure out what colors and such I want. I don't have a logo, banner, or anything. 🤦♀️ Lots of work to do. This is all so exciting and interesting. Thank you so much for the info!
you're very welcome!! i'm on the lookout for new video ideas, so if there's something in specific you're hitting a wall with, lemme know and i can try to do a video on it!
i cant get past 16:21 lol the stroke wont preview or go around the webcam border when i click on it..... i dont know what im doing wrong, i followed exact instructions
Hey, I just found you on the 'internets' and wanted to say I'm really enjoying your content. I also wanted to say how much I've enjoyed watching the progression of the improvement of _your_ content over series of videos you have published. It adds a lot of weight to your tutorials that you take your own advice.
hello, thank you so much for making this video, it helped a lot, but i have a question, if I want to be a faceless streamer but want to add a chat, what do i do then?
THANK YOU SO MUCH for making this video (and all your others) !! i’ve been looking for a tutorial about creating overlays thats easy to understand- it looks so daunting when you’re just starting out. your advice and thorough explanations are truly a streamer god send!
this video was very helpful! once i have the overlay on the stream, how do i make it show the most recent follower and chatbox if i am using obs? also, do you think obs is better for beginners or streamlabs?
Streamlabs OBS has a few more useful integrations for beginners (like adding a streamlabel makes it easy to get your most recent follower to show up) But SL OBS is also very resource heavy and can lag some computers down so keep that in mind! If you're using OBS, you'll have to manually add a browser source for the labels... I'll make this my video for next week! I've gotten lots of questions about it lately!
I want to say thank you soo much for this video!! I do a little designing with my business related things and just recently made affiliate on twitch and this came in handy in making some overlays for my stream, now my streams will have a little personality to it 😁😁❤ this was super helpful and I was able to put my skills to the test
Have you found an easier way to make the webcam border transparent? I'm using Photoshop and I was able to accomplish it once. But for some reason when I try to rasterize the webcam layer it won't allow me to do so.
Yeah you should save it as a .png to use for the overlay and also a .psd file ... and come back into photopea when you're ready to edit it, open the .psd file which will still have the layers separated
I know this is a year old but hopefully you check back on this still 😅 When I go to delete Layer 2 for the webcam area it’s doesn’t leave a transparent layer it just shows the background with the stroke around it. Do you know what I’m doing wrong?
When I copy and past image it creates a new layer over the transparent background. So I end up starting with 2 layers rather than the one. Then when I get to the part where I'm selecting pixels to delete the background instead of it being the transparent background it's just black, THEN the border/stroke doesn't work, and I end up with the border being around the entire image and not just the part where the game play is. :(
Could you maybe in the future go into details on how to make a custom youtube video intro and outro detail image? Like ones you make for your own channel. If you already have one, point me to it plz :)
Thank you for the tutorial! I really appreciate the helpful content you create, it’s helping me get prepared to stream and to look good while doing it!
you are awesome. you have helped me so much in my twitch. I currently get about an average of 11 viewers and it’s only been my second stream. I can’t wait to add more of your amazing tips and continue growing. thank you ❤️🥺
i got lost with the keyboard command when you said to press delete on your key board to make the transparent box. nothing got deleted! is there any way you can help with this? thanks a bunch
You need to make sure there is something selected! I think this is at the point where you need to hold alt and then click on the thumbnail of the layer (the one that is the shape of the webcam).. that should select the space... then make sure you have the background layer selected/active when you press delete
Would love a full tutorial on how to set up your overlay in SLOBS and creating other scenes like intermission scenes! Thank you for making this video, as I had almost no clue on how to work any software, especially streaming software!
Thanks so much for making this! Unfortunately I'm still struggling tho with deleting the images from the main background, it's not deleting down to a transparent layer and i don't know what I'm doing wrong 😅
Your tutorials are so helpful!!! I’ve wanted to stream for as long as I can remember but been struggling with how lately. I also wanted to ask you if you see this: I wanna do gaming content but I don’t know how I can make it different, it’s a basic category but it’s what I love the most. I’ve seen a lot of videos saying be extremely good at it but I don’t play online stuff like some big players and more chilled back games. However I do really love the lores and theories of the games I play so I thought maybe while I’m playing I can talk about that stuff and give information about the games I’m playing? And I think you should make a video for niche help cuz I see people struggling with that rhe most
@heyshadylady I created my overlay but now I need to know how to upload it onto my twitch. Do I need to do it on a separate website or is there a way to set it up through the twitch website?
Hey girl thank you so much for these videos!! They are amazing and have helped me so much. Quick question when I add the stroke to the box for a border it adds a border around the entire screen as well as around the gameplay box. I noticed in the video however it doesn't happen to yours. Am I doing something wrong? I guess it doesn't really matter but I would prefer it to not be there lol. Again ty for all your hard work!!
Anything in specific yall want me to go further in detail on?
More Twitch Overlay, you found your niche in the youtube algorithm

i would love it if you could make tutorial of how to put on the streamlab obs... and also a start screen, brb , and a ending screen

Would you be able to show how to get chat on screen?
I have never seen a tutorial go so much into detail! I can't tell you how much I appreciate that!!!! Could you do a video on making a "Be Right Back" screen and a "Chat" screen?

i have referred back to this so many times even for the simplest goof ups I've made for some redirection or to see what I did wrong. love this video so much and her voice is so calming ♥
I appreciate that you actually go over WHY you're doing the things, and not using the other similar tools! A really sick tutorial, my guy! ^-^
This is just the thing that I needed! I was looking endlessly for images that could go for overlay, but none of them really hit the thing that I wanted. Now I can make my own!
Thank you! ❤️

I hope you do an obs tutorial! Cuz I have no clue what I’m doing and I can’t figure out how to add the video and the camera ontop of the overlay
New to the streaming community and I wanted an overlay of my own. You made that possible, thanks!
I have used this tutorial video so many times to make fresh overlays for my stream! I cannot thank you enough for making it!

This video was incredibly helpful, straight-up with no over-complication or beating around the bush.
I was not aware of this site! I'm so excited to make many Twitch overlays!
Can you make a video on how to set up obs with detail pls
This is a major help. I 've been trying to find a software very close to photoshop. Thank you :)

I managed to get it done with the help of another tutorial 😅 I must have not followed properly... I still learned so much and made my first overlay 😊💜

at 12:30 does anyone know why the borders on both layers are getting a stroke border?

yes!
@heyshadylady I created my overlay but now I need to know how to upload it onto my twitch. Do I need to do it on a separate website or is there a way to set it up through the twitch website?
it goes into your OBS as a media source, the same way you add your webcam, or alerts! it's just a graphic source in your broadcasting software.
@@HeyShadyLady thank you so much ❤️
Such an awesome video ! Thank u!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for your tutorials, I really am learning a lot!
How would you add a chat box to this one OBS?

Yeah there's should be a drop down box in the stroke window that you can change from "outside" to "inside" that should fix that!
@@HeyShadyLady Tysm!! It worked!
I wish I could like your videos more than once, thank you very much.
