I thought that I would not live to see any years more than my parents, but I have reached age 70 now, and my sister is 77. Our generation is living longer than our parents as long as we take care of ourselves ourselves.
I had a beautiful country home.. black bear, dear, turkey, even moose. At night the crickets, tree frogs and owls were my lullabies. Keep your dreams, they are so special. ❤

When you talk about what you have over come in your life you inspire others. Little Man may be a handful and is both a blessing and a trial. But how you deal with the issues teaches others. Great happy mail! Your story about Juju and living with her brother reminds me of living with my brother. He was tough to live with growing up, but now I love him to death, especially since I don't live with him. 😉 My husband and I started dating when I was 17 and he was my escape from my crazy home.

I love the fluffy yarn. I hope you make something pretty with it. I enjoy your stories. I grew up in the country near a small town in Michigan. We lived on 42 acres and raised lots of animals. I wanted to raise my 3 daughters the same way, but my husband decided to move us to New Orleans. I hated the city, eventually we moved to Houston, TX. I’m 73 and still stuck in the city, well county really,but still part of the city. I’m fortunate to still have my girls and grandkids living near me,but I’m always a country girl at heart. 🧶💜🙏🏻
Now whenever I see yellow swallowtail butterflies I will think of you and your mother and that hard trip to a new life.

Bright colors are my jam 😂❤ great happy mail yarn 😮 I need to reorganize my yarn shelves. I’ve been using it and haven’t bought any lately. We almost lost my husband this month due to a widow maker heart attack. So I’ve just been taking care of him and doing some crochet. They misdiagnosed me with lupus when I was younger. Turns out it was RA instead. I’m a firm believer if there are too many blocks in your path don’t go. It’s good that you could be there for your mom. ❤ butterflies are special. I’m glad you got some happy mail and shared it with us, because it’s nice to see you happy 🥹
Thank you Jennifer for sharing with us. It is a good thing that you are dreaming about the new house cause that will help you to make the decision on which one to buy when you find it. I wish I could talk my son into buying a home. He does not want the cost of repairs to the home once you own it. He likes to rent then if something breaks or wears out they are responsible to do the repairs. I can understand why he feels that way cause it is expensive to own your own home. I understand where you are coming from. I mostly stayed at home with my 3 kids. I worked part time at the preschool where they went and that was honestly my time. Moms don’t get days off or lunch breaks or sick days and most of us wouldn’t have it any other way. It is exhausting though. I’m not trying to diminish what my husband has done. He has worked his butt off to create a nice life for us. I’m with you, the next time we move i will advocate more for myself and get something more suited to my needs. I’m looking forward to hearing about your future adventures, yarn and otherwise! Take care!

I hit 70 this year and I am not in bad shape, but my mother died when she was 52 and my dad was I think was 61? Maybe? I didn't think I would live this long and if I did I would be one of those very old people you see when you are young. lol That can barely get around. I love to watch you open boxes to see what is inside. It is almost like being in the room and experiencing all the fun. I love opening mail LOL I don't get any anymore unless I buy something online. Just not the same (unless it is yarn lol). I love your dream house! We live in California and it is so expensive everywhere to buy a home and then the taxes are awful as well. We have been working on our credit and trying to save money so that my daughter, son and youngest grandson and I can get a house of our own. We want to live by the ocean ;) But not have land that is like 6' feet then a neighbor on all sides of us. We want a drama free home lol. Thank you for sharing all the fun. I now am going to go and watch yesterdays video cause I was all over town yesterday which wore me out and I napped. Much love and prayers for all, take care of you. See you soon!

I totally understand about the housing prices. I was in upstate NY and my home was on 3 acers. We painted the house, put in new carpet and made sure the outside looked nice with flowers. We had trouble getting $100,000 for the house. Moving to MD, the house has no land, the layout is horrible and we paid over $200,000 for the house. Like you, I miss my land. I want to move to a place with an acre or two, where I don't have nosie neighbors.

Hi Jen. In Connecticut plastic bags are banned. We have to pay for a paper bag at the grocery store ,so everyone brings the reusable ones. Great video today. ❤
I would always forget my reusable shopping bags as well. So now when I get done unloading the groceries from them I just have one of the kids throw them in the back of the car. That way they're always there when I go shopping.
My grandparents lived to 50 years old because of heart problems both of them. My dad lived to be 76 shy 4 months of his 77 birthday. He was so proud that he lived past the age of his parents. I'm surprised he lived that long he drank and smoked a lot.

Good idea about the container. With the heat and the humidity aren't you worried about the items in the container? I would look into products that would help with humidity, like silica gel packets to put in your boxes or containers and also little desiccant containers that you could put in the container itself. Looking forward to your journey.

I need more 5.5 hooks even though I have a million. I keep them with projects because I have found that different hooks tend to have different gauges. It drives me nuts sometimes 😂
I think you still need to stay close to where you are. If you really come out into the country, I feel you are gonna miss all the shopping and activities that you enjoy being near the cities. I go to the yarn shop once or twice a year because the only two I know of is three hours away. One is Huntsville where you have visited, the other is Brentwood TN just outside Nashville. There are no reuses stores that I know of.

Good morning Jennifer! I to want to move so bad. We are staying put because my parents are in there 80’s and they will not move and I get it but sometimes I just wish I could move tomorrow but we will one day. I wish you a very great day.
I understand completely about the addiction. I took a friend for kidney stone surgery and when she was leaving they the gave her a prescription for pain med. She did not want it filled because of her family history of addiction. I got it filled because it was only $4. And I was afraid that in the middle of the night she might need it. I told her that I would take it home with me if she wanted. I am and so was she that I filled it because she did need it.

Jen a successful move entails sooooo much. A plan is number one of course. But that plan should begin with the ultimate goal. You and the family need a very comprehensive discussion. Which of course includes everyone’s goals.
Now this will sound duh but take it from me KEEP CONSTANT TRACK OF ALL KEYS. I still have not found our original RV keys.
Purge is number one.
I dream of secret rooms too. One room has three separate bedroom suites, one leads to an apartment where three people live, then there are the three other one room apartments that have elderly women in them. Scary 😱 right?
Just remember to make a list and check it twice daily. An idea from professional movers. Every box or item has a number a fixed to it and a corresponding number on a paper document.

Hi Jennifer, I can relate to your feelings. My Grandmother died at 66. My mom died at 66. I am blessed to be 69 now. My dad mom she lived to be 103. I am going for 105. Let us think we will make it. I love you your cinnamon bum.

My ( older) brother died at 42 from a drug overdose. My older sister died at 42 from liver failure due to alcoholism ( a horrible way to die) I was so freaked out to turn 42, I didn't celebrate my birthday that year, which was probably dumb because I don't drink or do drugs... I am now 63, you can beat the generational curse of addiction. And you are setting an example for your kids🥰
