Nice review. Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought for the 2022-23 they switched to a turbo only gas motor and upgraded to a larger rear electric motor to make up for removing the supercharger.
A lot of people have been confused by the "e-charger" term, including a lot of reviewers, thinking it's an electric motor in place of the supercharger. The supercharger is still there, but it's powered by an electric motor, rather than a belt or gears. That allows it to better match the boost to fit the power/torque needs at low RPM. The rear electric motor was upgraded from 87HP to 145HP and the battery was upgraded as well mid '22.
Great video Steve! One of the things you mentioned, was the road noise from the tires. It is quite noticeable in this video as well as some others I have viewed. In your opinion, do you think the remedy to that would be upgrading to better grade touring tires compared to the standard OEM tires?
In a pinch I just turn up the radio up!!! But to answer your question, the factory tires are typically chosen to provide the best "all around" ride and performance for the money. I do recommend, when you finally need to replace your tires, to do a fair amount of research because tire technology, design and manufacturing is becoming as advanced as the latest and greatest vehicles themselves..:) Steve
Great video, I don't feel so bad buying the 2023 Subaru Outback XT Onyx featuring the Volvo like touch screen and Vegan Leather! (jk), but 3-4 yrs from now who knows maybe a Volvo XC90 high trim w the 60mpg plus shindig.
I bought my first Land Rover Sport, after watching some of Steve's videos in 2013. Today, I'm thinking about buying an XC90, and I see Steve's video again. Oh, my God! Ten years have passed. 🤣🤣 Greetings from Brazil!!
I am seeing your video for last 10 years, started with video of 3 series in 2012/2013. I was really impressed with the video quality and all drama/choriography you do in those video. I don't know but now your video are boring, just reading specification and driving. Please improve your video. I haven't seen any video quality yet like those in 2012. Please bring that back.
Thanks for being a loyal viewer all these years! I know how you feel... Those were the days. We still do our best to have fun and make the videos a bit entertaining along the way. We're actually hoping to do a fairly big production in the next video that you might enjoy. Thanks for your feedback and we'll see how it goes..:) Steve
It a very beautiful car that drives like a dream. I’m glad they hide the exhaust in this model to accentuate the more environmental friendly hybrid engine. It also looks much more streamlined. For us Europeans this car is considered large btw. Very happy with it so far and had no problems with it.
Question: we drive 120 miles to our vacation home . Is it safe to say most of the trip this Volvo would be running on engine power (312 hp) not 455 hp. In other words, on long trips this car becomes a gas only car.
@@dentalworld3629 I bet you don't have any idea what full option means for Volvo , if you have a momentum trim line it might be, but a full option Hyundai is way far behind compared to a full XC90 inscription . Can you compare the interior quality? Plastic on the door for Hyundai , cheap feeling knobs... Hyundai is just a substandard car equipped with some led and displays . Safety? Yes Hyundai is also behind, sound system? 1400w bowers and Wilkins for Volvo is astonishing. Volvo is better in any way
Awesome presentation. I just kept on expecting him to say "Now, on with the countdown!"
You need to be on the radio.
Thanks! I really appreciate it..:) Steve
Haven't seen one of your vids in a while
some funny bits, thanks - made me laugh, and good review, great presenter.
Thanks a lot! I really appreciate your kind words and hope you Subscribe..:) Steve

This guy sounds like Jim Lahey from the trailer park boys. LOL The best video I've watched of the car.
I'll have to check Jim Lahey out sometime but I'll take that as a compliment! Thanks for the positive feedback and hope you Subscribe..:) Steve

Michael Douglas just persuaded me to buy a Volvo.
That's great! I hope you buy it from Fairfax Volvo..:) Steve
@@rosenthalstevek8869 Well I bought one from my local Volvo dealer but thanks for the info!
Can i change the wheel into bigger size?
Ultimate comes with Bowers and Wilkinson Audio as per Video.
Not always.
It’s an option

Are you testing or selling Volvos?

All d best! 👍
What's the color of the car behind you? And the clips of the car moving? Thank you.
Exterior color is Denim Blue, the interior not so sure.
@@cast9609 Thank you
inside it looks identical to the 2016 version.
You don't know your XC90's. As a 2017 XC90 owner, I can attest there are many interior changes since 2016.

So with the 2023 models being made in the new South Carolina plant, does that mean the recharge hybrid will qualify for the US tax credit?
Yes if your model is less than 80K and you make less than 300K 😢
Dark Theme only available for T8.
how do they make it shinier than other cars???
nice..
Dann this guy… I accidentally bought 3 volvos
I just purchased my third Volvo, the XC90 B5 Plus. I like the Hyundai Santa Fe but is too high a target for thieves.
How is your car no any problems?
I thought the supercharger+turborcharger drivetrain is going away.

Power or all wheel drive mode will have over 400 hp if it is a recharge. The electrical power is always available. However, not economic.

Google's system in this car is a tragedy if it works the same as in 2022 it's money spent down the drain
A tragedy, really?
A new Hyundai vehicle has all of that and more luxury features nowadays lol.. For less. Way less... So go ahead and pay for the badge
👍🏼Buy the one you like
This is a LUXURY vehicle not a hyundai that’s easy to steal and blows up! Don’t forget recalls! And EVERYONE has a hyundai
You need to update your standards regarding quality and luxury, Hyundai doesn't even come close to Volvo in any way
@@paulmorozan7893 i have both. If you get full options from hyndai then it s a better car
