Looks very doable and I interested to hear what the outcome is after the final installation of it all. I have a 2014 Q50 and have being wanting to do the same thing so would be really good to hear what your feed back is after running your intake setup. Great video!
I ditched the grill mount and am running the filters in the wheel wells and it’s breathing great. I’m gonna be redoing the piping in the future to clean it up more.
I didn’t do a video of the wheel well specifically but I did show in this video where they would be placed and on what pipe they would mount to. I still haven’t finalized the new design yet mainly because I can’t weld aluminum and wanted to get away from as many couplers as I can.
My airboxes were broken and didn’t seal. It was gonna be $400 to replace them. So for less than that I got to have fun making these which looked better and functioned no different than stock. I didnt dyno the car so I have no idea what the number change good or bad was since increasing horsepower wasn’t my focus. I just know it drove nice afterward and got the job done.

Look up boosted6auto and check out their kit currently produced. It looks like it’s def doable diy style with the right premade piping.
