I see how the ending can be disappointing now... I actually liked it though. It's realistic, not a fantasized dramatization of what we want to happen and that's ok. Realistically, that's pretty much exactly how things would go down. When a corporate behemoth has that much money to throw at problems they magically disappear. Many people who think they would have the morals to stand strong against that sort of situation hasn't stared down the face of a blank check and escaped without caving. As long as we live in a society that puts money above people, we're going to need that money for survival and self preservation is a strong thing to fight.
One of these days we need someone, anyone, willing to throw away their life for the right thing, willing to risk paying the expensive penalty of losing and risk eternal debt as long as they get the truth out there and see true justice. Making that long leap of faith and hope that luck is on your side and you'll land on the other side despite seemingly you wouldn't make it in the first place. Technically that's one of the main reasons why daredevils, especially ones that took the greatest of risks, were so entertaining.
People dont care about martyrs. Im an Argentinian, and many years ago, at least 10 kids were taken, tortured, and killed by the dictatorship; Why? becouse they wanted a cheaper public bus ticket for students. People did care only for a while, but now my people voted for a man who said the dictatorship wasn't that bad, and he wants to sieze those benefits from students. People dont really care. Money will always prevale over empathy sooner or later.
The greed of money may prevail over good here on earth for centuries, but not in eternity. All who choose greed and don’t repent go to hell. So many societies are horrible, but the pain is not forever. Im sure those young martyrs are honored for their sacrifice. I guess the point im trying to make is that hope still exists, even in a country run by a government and people who disregard the value of a human life.
Of course, there's the realization that the company won't be able to replicate the success of Trevor's break out, and reviews will start declining again
Awesome story with a sadly with a very evil and manipulative message on Vivian's part. She can lie all she wants but cannot confront her own emotions nor understand WHY the Justice system has a more complex and opposite understanding of human judgement!? She ONLY got lucky because the courts were dealing with ANOTHER more evil media company that LEGALIZES snuff films in small countries.
I finished this Game, and my reaction at the end is just feels like pomni's reaction to the reality that there is no exit or scape (The Amazing Digital Circus). Despite the deception that the story that You we're playing was also a lie, I love the effort made by the developers to make this story possible. A kind of masterpiece story, by mixing the stories of The True Man Show & Now You See Me together. And the implication that the player is the real villain of the story (You wanted Trevor to know the truth, You wanted him to scape, You wanted him to free everyone despite everything being a lie at the end), that feels like breaking the 5th wall.

Volume during the video varies a lot... most of the time it is normal at 100% and at some points it goes to 200% or even more... It is very troublesome. Felt like my ears were about to start bleeding from the sudden BLAST on headphones with no warning before that happens. Check out volume at 1:44:00 and again at 1:44:38 PS. When Zhain gets shot and killed at 2:02:24 game is suppose to "glitch" and travel back in time putting player just few moments before but for some weird reason he was pushed in future by about 2 minutes or 3 minutes of gameplay.
I agree. It felt kinda... rushed. Not the entire thing - I was totally invested until the finale started happening (basically when Angela saw that Trevor had a million views and on). It does feel kind of true to real life though, Find out something bad is happening and MOST of the time people get paid off and keep their mouths shut and the bad thing keeps happening.
I personally love the ending cause it’s exactly how this stuff would play out in real life. Hush money being piled on and onto the situation by Arcadia and everyone forgetting about the incident quickly like most controversies nowadays. I really love how in touch the devs are with current day stuff.
Honestly, quite the opposite. The ending just ties everything together: all the "hey, the hexagon is empty and not secured" or "hey, the guards are always leaving you one opening to escape through" or other stuff, that you just ascribe to game logic before reveal. But nope, all in universe. All the drama and chases and daring escapes - all staged.
I was worried that the ending was gonna be awful, but actually seeing it, it was hilarious, and I actually loved it, genuinely one of my favorite games in terms of story and writing💀
I guessed the ending within the first hour of the game. But I was surprised that many viewers were dissatisfied with this ending. I mean, if I were a screenwriter, I might write it this way, because it would allow the game to avoid the simple redemption theme of "The Truman Show" and better fit modern society. Of course, the game still has some plot holes, but it still makes a certain degree of satire on modern network media. First, many people actually don't have their own lives, or watching other people's lives has become their lives. Second, more and more people are happy to show themselves as commodities to the world, which is exactly the different feeling that Jim Carrey got from the movies he starred in. (In essence, Internet celebrities may not sell their privacy, because the team that makes money understands that reality is the most boring.) I think the most valuable thing about the game is that even though Trevor's ratings are low, he still has the right to ask for the camera to be removed. The infringement of rights is not a question of degree. It is a question of yes or no.
