Omg. I literally figured this out last night and then I find this video today. The only difference is I laminated 1st, cut around the picture, then placed the picture in its spot and had the Cricut do a more precise cut.
Oh this is a game changer. Thank you so much for sharing this. Works every time and saves so much time cutting the laminate by hand and ALOT neater. I used the offset for the laminate templates if that helps anyone.
Thank you SO much for this video! About a week before you posted this, I was searching for a way to print and cut laminate, and its like your upload answered my prayers! lol. I make and sell these type of laminated activities and it was becoming very tedious to hand cut my laminated pieces, not anymore!! thank you thank you🙏🏻
I did something similar but I just laminated after printing and then sent the sheet through the cricut. It actually lined up nicely and the cuts were great.
Hi Jen, Thank you! I'm new to using Illustrator so it took me a bit to get all the steps sorted out but I've adapted your technique to make double sided laminated bookmarks and am very pleased with the results.
Hello I am a new Cricut maker owner. I have a 1 yr old gg daughter and I know that she’ll love these animals. I’m looking forward to more new ideas from you!
Print a second copy on regular printer paper. Cute the image out and keep the border then tape it over your laminated piece. Your cricut will be able to read the guides then.
Thank you for this video, I am a novice, and need more assistance.... So I purchased busy book activities online, the pages of the document does not use the 9.25, but traditional letter size. Should I return my explorer air 2 device? If I resize the print and cut, the images will not match the busy book well.
Ok I have a question please and thank you and I hope it doesn't sound crazy. What would happen if you printed out your print and cut with the registration marks, then put it in between the laminate sheet had the cricuit air explore 2 cut around each sticker then run each cut out back through the laminater
What works for me is a tiny dot of glue on the back of the paper pieces, stick it down gently on the laminate sheet. They won’t move around so much and it doesn’t affect the laminating.
I used the heavy cardstock option on my explore air 2 but it will depend on how think your lamination sheets are. I used the ones I linked in the description. If it doesn't cut through, don't unload the mat and run it through the machine again (press the blinking green button).
Awesome! Alternative to other hack of having to tape over he laminated sheet with plain sheet of paper aligning the registration marks. You didn't mention what cut setting used to cut laminate. Can you share what you used? Thanks!
Thanks for this. However, cant you just print the image on Cricut print then cut, then laminate the sheet, then cut? This seems like a really long way to do it. Unless it's specifically because you wanted the border, and didn't want it to be a paper border around each print.
When you make the cut the first time, couldn't you just use that as the template to run it through the second time after laminating? Just trying to understand the method.
Hi there! The template for the first time (print + cut) isn't the same layout as the one for the laminated cut. Cricut rearranges print+cuts for you (when you load the file into Cricut Design Space, the images are horizontal but when you go to cut, it does so vertically), so it wouldn't be aligned for a laminate cut. Thanks for the question though! I do wish there was an easier way!
Wow this is a great hack! I have a few questions if u don’t mind. How did u keep the images so still in the laminate sheet when u picked it up from the cutting mat? Mine slide around😃 I would LOVE to learn how you made the 2nd file to line with with the original images. I have a non verbal son with autism, I make him laminated images to communicate with us. It would be so helpful if I could do this with my Cricut. I would be able to make him many more shapes. Thank you so much for sharing this! Best idea ever.❤️
Which brand of laminate sheets are you using? The Amazon Basics ones have a "static cling" to it that holds it together very well for me! (Link: amzn.to/3fbv2Rn). I also don't move the sheet until I ready to laminate and keep the laminator right beside me. I will try and make a video on how to make your own cut files! You will need a third party program like Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape to do it but it's really easier than you think! Stay posted!
Hi! I use regular scotch brand laminate sheets that don't have that "static cling" to it and also had the same problem! I've found that running a glue stick on the back of the paper pieces you're putting in the laminate really helps them to stay put and the glue dries clear once laminated!
i am too much of a perfectionist i hate hate hate it when i add bleed and it sometimes leaves a bit of the bleed on the main image i am wanting, so in photoshop if it is anything like a single picture like what you are doing here i add a thicker white line around the image like what you do with stickers then atleast you get a neater picture. depends though on what pictures i am wanting and style i need
If you upload your design into the photo editor, you can follow the same steps to make you own. Watch this video to see how: th-cam.com/video/vlDPjTabJBA/w-d-xo.html
I have a color laser printer also. I find this too complicated. What I do is I print out my designs on a printer. Then I take that page, laminate it, then put the laminated sheet on my Cricut mat, then send that through the Cricut. Cuts perfectly.
@@PocketWonders I will have to revisit your video, as I might want to do it your way, to give it a bit more border around my piece for better sealing. I haven't had a problem yet, but having a bit more border wouldn't hurt.
There is! Most of the heavy duty settings will cut through both. The problem is that you don't get the extra seal if you don't leave a border around the paper you are laminating. This method accounts for that so the things you laminate last longer :)
you're correct for precise cuts but I'm guessing the laminated shapes are larger than the printed ones. that extra space allows room for the cut to be slightly off without noticing.
Came for the cricut print and cut tips, left with some great ideas for home schooling my 4 year old! Thanks so much!

Very helpful video. Can you please share how you made the laminate cut file? Thanks!
How did you make the svg file for the laminate? The cut images are bigger than the actual one to allow for the border, but how did you make it?
Thank you SO much for this video! About a week before you posted this, I was searching for a way to print and cut laminate, and its like your upload answered my prayers! lol. I thought this might be easier! I’m going to try that. What setting did you cut on?
I was thinking this
Didn’t the machine have a hard time seeing the black lines due to the shine?
@@janetmenchyk9778 nope
When I laminate after printing... the cricut wont read my registration marks
Thank you so much! I make things for my granddaughters for school and I have been struggling with the laminated part. I can't wait to try this. 😃
I was just looking for the best laminates. I wanna say u are an amazing parent! This would have been awesome as a kid especially with the pandemic.
What settings did you use to cut once you laminated?
I used the setting in between the light cards to keep setting and the cardstock setting and it cut perfectly
Phenomenal. You are definitely the queen of Print and Cut. Thanks so much for sharing this valuable tip.
Hi, thank you for your video!
please what setting did you use to cut the laminate?
many thanks

Love it so much!!!!
Do you have a laminated pocket method? Example backpack with items to go in it?
This gonna come in handy for home schooling that’s about to start
Wowww. Now to figure out how to make a svg template
Thank you for sharing! Your voice is so comforting 😊
What settings do you put the cricut on for the laminate?
Double Pass using the setting for Plain White Paper
Love it can you please tell me the settimg for laminte cut
Can you just do the print portion of the print and cut, laminate, place the laminated printed paper back on the mat then cut?
That’s what i was thinking
The cricut cant read the border...
Print a second copy on regular printer paper. Cute the image out and keep the border then tape it over your laminated piece. Your cricut will be able to read the guides then.
Yes! That’s how I do it.
this is a labor of love! Quite a lot of work for the end result. I may be too lazy :D
The best dear lady. Nonetheless what setting for the cricut to cut. poster board paper.
this is great is there a way I can do this for index cards I want to laminate my index cards for my photo box, so they will not get dusty or faded?
Hi! How did you make the laminate cut SVG?
I need this answer too
I will post a tutorial soon!
You can make it inkscape which is free, I do mine in Adobe Illustrator.
Whst was the cut settings for the laminate? If I missed it... can you put the time you mention it in the video...
She had a laminator machine
What cricut maker did you have?
Thank you so much!! I’ve been looking for exactly this!
Me too lol, but can I put this on food jars?
what setting do you cut out the laminate sheet?
Is it possible to do the same in the acidity Joy?
Mine dont line back up when I take mat out of the machine at all. Not sure why, but this is cool if I could get it to work like you
By any chance, can you teach how to do this using cameo 4?
I would like to see how to do print and cut flash cards please

May I know the machine name exactly because I find too many options. I want to use this for cutting images in laminating sheets alone.
Can I do this with my cricut joy?
what cricut did you use? explore or maker?
Ok I have a question please and thank you and I hope it doesn't sound crazy. What would happen if you printed out your print and cut with the registration marks, then put it in between the laminate sheet had the cricuit air explore 2 cut around each sticker then run each cut out back through the laminater
How did u save an SVG file of the one u wanted??
This is such a great video. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much this helped
My issue is how do I get the paper pieces to not move inside the laminate sheet? Also, what laminate sheets did you use?
What works for me is a tiny dot of glue on the back of the paper pieces, stick it down gently on the laminate sheet. They won’t move around so much and it doesn’t affect the laminating.
Brilliant just got a Cricut so im new to all this , need that tutorial on svg image :) subbed you :)
Where can i sourse these activities?
What setting did you use to cut the laminate? I tried, and it didn’t cut through

Awesome video! Do you have the crayon SVGs in your library?
Why is mine saying it can’t see the cut sensor marks when I go to cut the laminate sheet?
thank you, this was very useful information. i love learning hacks
Is it laminated on both sides or just one side
What program you use to edit the image please?:)
Thanks for this video! I was a bit worried if I should buy the Cricut but then I saw what you did here with the laminated pictures. Really helpful!
Which cricut machine is this ?
wow can u share the printables... is ir free?
What is the dots that you use to stick the laminate to the book?
Velcro dots! You can get some here: amzn.to/3epEReU

What cut setting/type of paper do you have your cricut on to cut laminated sheets?
I like to use "Heavy Cardstock" as my setting on laminated sheets. Hope that helps!
I'm a newbie, so I don't understand why it prints BIGGER than the 6.75 x 9.25 if that is the limit.

Jaedyn Kamalani- that is an amazing idea to use the glue stick! Thank you so much for sharing that trick! I really appreciate that 😍
Just purchased a Cricut and looking at projects. Why can this just be cut once on a laminated sheet, why print the image twice?
You could just cut it once with the just the laminated sheet but then you don't get the laminated border around the image which gives it a better seal
Can I use an ink printer instead ?
Yes! Any printer will work for the printing.
Amazing

Surely there has to be a setting that is deep enough to cut through the laminate and the vinyl at once.

Have you ever tried putting the whole pre-cut printed sheet in the laminate then just do one cut with the laminated sheet?
This is an option but then the laminate wouldn't be sealed.

The max is actually 6.75 x 9.25
