@@serraramayfield9230 Why does having some "better" arranges (based on your personal taste) made by fans is related to the quality of the game? I am not saying DDP isn't a good game, but at least Touhou is still being alive while CAVE the company that made "better games", is now only making mobile gacha games. Not to mention they are now making a licensed touhou game.

Cave is a corporate enterprise making gacha games because they're trying and failing to stay financially solvent. They don't "want" to do it but it isn't really a choice, and it has bought them time - but only buying them time. They've only had one, *maybe* two years in the company's entire life (starting in '94) that their fiscal year returned positive. Even as far back as the original DDP they were unsure if they could continue making arcade games: this is a feeling they had after DDP's release, during Espgaluda, and during the development of DOJ. The only reason that any Cave games even exist past Espgaluda is because IGS (a Taiwanese company) decided to get permission for the IP to make Bee Storm, which did surprisingly well and convinced Cave that a market for their titles still existed. They had the feeling yet again around the time of DFK, and SDOJ was one of their last releases period. SDOJ was one of their most difficult projects as development of the game was halted twice due to funding issues; they finished it regardless as a thank you to everyone who had supported the company. They *tried* to keep going with NesicaXLive, going so far as to port Akai Katana onto the platform, but that failed as well. SDOJ Exa Label exists because eXa-Arcadia developed the port in conjunction with Cave's oversight. It's likely that the Touhou collab is their last chance, and if it fails to produce profit/attract a sufficiently large audience, the investors behind Cave could pull the plug and leave the company to die.
