Yeah, they are incredible. But have you seen the green flash? Heard the sun touch the ocean? Off shore means no land in sight. There is something magical about being on big water like that. I've never sailed n ocean but I've flown above the clouds where you can't see any Earth only clouds as the sun rises. So jealous, I'll never fly like that again and so many places and horizons left to see. You've seen a lot and thanks to your sharing so too have I seen some I'll never in person. Thanks Aubrey.
I spent a few days at that same marina about 20 years ago when we went to pick up a new 40 foot Carver cabin cruiser to bring back to Newport Beach. I recall the food at that hotel was really good and back then very inexpensive.
Do you have a rudder indicator at the helm? it makes it easier in close quarters if you know where your rudder is. Also, how powerful is your prop-wash? If you turn in the direction of the effect of your prop-wash it will react faster.
Don't know if this it right, but might be worth a look. On the steering, bleed the hydraulics again. I know you did it but even a couple bubbles can make trouble. Second thing, there may be an adjustment on the amount of gain on the input from the wheel. (If it is a servo type set up) Less gain may mean more helm effort and feel.
3:58 Did you ever install the bow thruster? I remember back when you originally bought her and were doing the first fit out that you drilled the holes for it but don't remember if you finished it.
