    I cannot begin to describe how hard The World We Knew hit me. It still brings me to tears to this day.
    The first time I heard the full song I completely broke down, it was that beautiful and emotional.
    Sometimes the world we once thought we knew, will never be what it once was ever again.

    Really surprised you didn’t go into what is pretty clearly (imo) the main theme of the Lovers section, possessiveness and keeping people at arms’ length for fear of being hurt. Lyrics like “it doesn’t matter if it’s fake / I love to own for owning’s sake” and “like many times a deal was made / a decent, fair, dead-honest trade / what isn’t real could never fade / we prefer the masquerade” make this the much clearer one night stand-y section of the game to me, with the protagonist looking at relationships as transactional and not emotionally investing herself to avoid potential pain. Regardless, love to hear your guys’ take on a game I adore

    I always thought the Emperor was interesting. Most of the tarot cards the protagonist uses are applied to the world around them, in a way. Wheel spawns the bike, Strength spawns the sword type thing. When she “gets” the Emperor, it kind of looks like it’s applied to the character directly. Also, after they lose the Fool persona, it’s the only card that still aids them.

  • @exyzt9877
    @exyzt9877 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    ... the magician card represents (among other things) the will of the user. So it is the fool's will that is summoning the magician to help. how did you gloss over this?

    • @exyzt9877
      @exyzt9877 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Transparencyboo something that you forgot to mention is that tarot cards have different meanings dependent on orientation. A right-side up magician represents:
      willpower, desire, being resourceful, skill, ability, concentration, and manifestation.
      whereas an upside-down (or reversed) magician represents: manipulation, cunning, trickery, wasted talent, illusion, deception.
      Considering that the magician in the game always shows up in upright orientation, and what exactly the card does in-game, it's safe to assume it's that one.
