  • Gautam Sachdeva takes the seeker through the core concepts of Advaita sage Ramesh Balsekar, as outlined in his first book 'Pointers from Ramesh Balsekar'. Gautam first visited Ramesh in February 2000 and, over a period of nine years, also worked closely with him in the process of publishing some of Ramesh's books.
    This series of videos present the essence of Ramesh's teaching, as if he were walking the seeker through it in one of his morning talks.
    Gautam Sachdeva speaks and writes on the subject of Advaita (non-duality). He writes with a specific focus on peace of mind in daily living. He spent over nine years in close association with renowned Advaita sage Ramesh Balsekar, assisting him with the editing and publishing of some of his books. Ramesh’s guru was Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, whose famed book I Am That is considered a modern spiritual classic. With the blessings of Ramesh, Gautam went on to write books based on his experience with the teaching. He also shares his experiential understanding of Advaita during talks with groups of like-minded people, with the specific focus of ‘peace of mind in daily living’.
    Gautam is also the founder of Yogi Impressions, a publishing house that is at the forefront of publishing books on spirituality and personal growth. Yogi Impressions publish books across categories such as non-duality, kundalini, religion, mythology, paranormal, tarot, biography, mental health, parenting, health and wellness. Some of the authors and spiritual masters published include Alan Jacobs, Alan Watts, Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra, Joseph Campbell, Mooji, Nisargadatta Maharaj, Peter Russell, Rainer Maria Rilke, Rajini Menon, Ramana Maharshi, Ramesh S. Balsekar, Robert Adams, Santosh Sachdeva, Tony Parsons. Visit yogiimpressions.com/

      Dear Gautamji, after listening to you the way I understood is that all our actions are predetermined however the way we react mentally to the results of the actions create karma which becomes or does not become the prarabdha for our next birth. This prarabdha again predetermines your every action and destiny in the next birth.
      Am I correct? And is this why Ramana Maharishi says that best course of action is is to remain silent mentally so that no karma get created at all. Kindly please provide your thoughts 🙏🙏🙏🙏

    Oh God! The acceptance of this brings immense freedom and joy because finally there is no room to think about this and that should have happened. Then it means everything that happens is right and correct and one can only be at peace and happy with whatever comes ❤

    You brought me to a point where there is no regret, no anticipation, but only the present moment. Yes, there is a lot of pain. And i just let myself feel it and cry without really going into what's causing it. Perhaps the way through pain is to just feel it.. just suffer what's there to be suffered.

    So much liberation in realising,I am not the doer. I never was.
    That One source,which I am,is doer and experiencer.
    All burden of personhood just washes away. The fear of future,the responsibilities and all things,just have been(apparently) lifted.

    Nice quote In the beginning of Ramana - whatever is destined to happen as per prarabdha karma , will happen no matter what in that Persons life … ..in my old age now , I realize that most of the events in my life were pre destined like, I ended up going and settling in cities I had no plans to visit or settle but my job took me there and despite my best efforts to find jobs elsewhere, I would get job in that city only even when I left that city ….. prarabdha karma and destiny is indeed very powerful

    Yesterday randomly (well now I guess its not that random) I came across Ramesh Balsekar's : What happens after self realisation. And watched it very slowly. Going back to some points. Making my husband watch some points again...the video the began in the morning ended at night. I'm sure people who watch his videos or Ramana Maharishi videos or advaita videos are or were in trouble or pain or whatever it is... that human is most likely trying his/her best to help himself/herself. I've not come across a person that puts in such simple words. I'm short of words after watching that video and this one. Just amazed. Even if Ive understood everything just intellectually. I'm very very grateful. And after sharing it with an uncle of mine, I also realised there are more followers of Ramesh Balsekar in my family than I thought.

    Thanks. Nice teaching, but I have a doubt. What if it's not even the other way round? D-C-B-A. What if both the sequences are simultaneous? Like Eckhart Tolle and Anita Moorjani say, it all happens simultaneously. Anita even says, if she had to describe it in a symbol, she would use the infinity symbol, where all the Past-present-future events are happening simultaneously. Also, Rumi talks about rising above the duality of Destiny and Free Will. What if they both are true yet false at the same time?

  • @mdimran.hossen

    So the best practice is , if your destiny takes you upto here in this Advita teaching then from now try to invest your time in seeking/ knowing God or realise your true self , and still if you do other things then you are not destined enough to know your true self in a early stage . What do you do with your free will if you completely surrender your sense of doer ship to God , just keep quite and study Advita teaching in deeper level . Thanks Everyone 🙏❤️.

    Very interesting video. i agree that everything is predetermined.
    Destiny is stamped on birth.
    What i am wondering after having accepted the destiny concept is :
    There will be a day that human mind will be in a position to know the next happening??
    It requires an extremely deep understanding and subtle perceiving of events of one's life,but it does not seem to me as something impossible..

    Notion that "Everything is predestined" conflicts with that of "Freewill", also what is point in continuing life if nothing is in my control, that way all our good and bad deeds is predestined and hence moksha will attained only at the mercy of God, are we nothing but toys in the hands of Supreme being by this logic.

    • @jitendralal7407
      @jitendralal7407 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have raised a valid point. Further if everything is predestined then we are not responsible for our actions whether good or bad. So no fruits of actions and Prarabdha should take place.

    • @monat9248
      @monat9248 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ramesh mentioned that Free will is there to some extent but it’s result is not in our control as it’s controlled by destiny .. for example , if 2 people study the same course and get same grades but if 1 is destined to get a great career, he will but the other student despite studying the same course n same grades if not destined for career success, he won’t… prarabdha karma for how life will turn out is decided at the time of birth of a baby

    7:17 so taking decision is not destined or predetermined? Why do we fail to take actions at the right time? You say, if something is destined to happen , it will. Also you Ramesh says we need to decide what to do. It's contradictory right? If it meant to happen it will happen then why to take actions?
    Please help me to understand. Thanks

    The only point I'm struggling to understand is - for the current life to be predestined, I must have done karmas in my past lives using the free will. Hence, in every life time, free will is available to me and hence fresh karmas are being created by me to "preordain" my future lives. Is this understanding right?

      Dear Gaurav Lambole ,
      Be it this life or the previous birth(s)...Life is/was predetermined.
      Basically, in other words it is needed to be understood that , you don't do anything! Rather, events happen through you... Consider yourself to be merely an " instrument" in literal sense...The moment this understanding is achieved, Surrender happens :)

      They both lead to same thing , only the difference being in the thought process. A leads to b and b leads to c is where our ego thinks he is the one who is in charge of everything. But the second, for c to be there b had to happen is complete surrender and acceptance of the fact that everything is predetermined.

    Gautam I dont get this. May be i am missing some thing here. If its all predestined then why put any effort. Like Ramana maharshi said we can just keep quite and do nothing. The food will be served for us in the plate since it predetermined, no need to work for it. But even Ramana M had to use his own hands to put the food in his own mouth. Since he is a sarvagayani/trikalagyani he knew his future, isntit why should he have to eat food. Doest make sense to me, at all.
    If Bill gates didnt do all the hardwork he wouldnt have be come the founder of MS, rather he would become another Ramana Maharshi sitting under a tree. If you think its all predestined why are you writing all the books, it will automatically get made for you. Its very easy to look at the past and say every thing was predetermined.
    I believe at every point in life we have a choice, that itself is freewill and the outcome may not be completely in our hands but definitely depends on many factors, the choice we make, the effort etc. Its not all predetermined for sure.

    • @thelastsamuraiRonin
      @thelastsamuraiRonin 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I get your point. Even I have the same questions. One person told me that to sit by doing nothing, that also should be predetermined. Because everyone one cannot sit idle for long time. To the world Bill gates success looks like a hardwork but for him it's a destiny. There are many people who can put a lot of hardwork that bill but no one knows. Why? They aren't succeeded. So the best thing what we can do is put our efforts, take action, make a choice. But for every choice there will be a consequence.

    No destiny, you get what you earn.
    For B to happen, A must be present; you say this proves destiny but where does A come from?
    'A' was there before you as part of a closed system called Earth that has existed for billions of years, where things happen according to fixed rules and also randomly to one another (one of these rules is 'genes').
    The mind jumping and worrying is you not being mature enough to ignore its supposed troubles.
