Project Red is probably for people who wanted warmer sound while May is probably for people who want bright set with Harman bass. It just matter of preference and which one is more comfortable to wear honestly.
Project Red isn't warmer; it has less mid bass and sub bass than the may on the standard eq preset or on 3.5mm directly. if you use the 10ohm resistor on the red, then the bass becomes similar to the may on 3.5mm and slightly more than the standard eq preset.
I slapped the bass eq preset in peaceeq and now I have the warmth I wanted in the moondrop mays, ngl I think these are the budget kings under $100 for how eq-able they are! Plus the comfort is best I’ve had yet aside from AirPods Pro’s (yes different product category but AirPod pro comfort is unrivaled imo)
Bloated bass is not the only thing that make the IEM warmer. I mean it's warmer compare to may. The treble is smoother and less peaky. So May is Harman but brighter, Red is Harman neutral if you want me to correct it.
Would have tried it if i didn't have enough Budget sets already :D I hope we get to see the Blessing 3 x Crin collab soon. Thats the only thing i wanna spend money on if its good :D
I bought the Zero-Reds and I really enjoy the sound but they ended up hurting my tiny ears. I'm hoping that these will be a good alternative and wont hurt my ears the same way. I know the Red has a very large nozzle and I've heard these have a bigger one as well. Hopefully they work out for me! Thanks for the info my friend.
One of the biggest reasons as to why I prefer iems is that I don't have to worry about limited functionality without a specific app. I get the allure, but it's not for me in any way shape or form.
Hello, out of the topic, can I ask? I'm into vocals, instruments and wide stage sounding with minimal bass, is moondrop LAN ok for me or can you recommend me something another for 40 dollars.
The ability to lose my charging is too much for me so I have always avoided May but I wonder how it would sound like with a normal 3.5 cable. I am not really familiar with how sound really works.
Hello! The question is, did you listen to May exclusively on your native dsp cable, or did you also listen to them on a regular cable with a dedicated dac and amplifier? If so, did they sound much better than on a complete dsp?
is anyone having ios / android issues with recognizing this dsp? for the life of me i cannot get it to work on any device. maybe it needs a bios / rom upgrade? (if that's even possible with this dsp.)
I managed to snag a pair for cheaper where I am a few months ago. Definitely no regrets, even for a blind purchase. A change of tips and cable later, it's a daily-able endgame for me. There's just nothing offensive about its sound signature, very well balanced.
I own the salnotes zero and i find them to flat i think they have to much rumble it fells like it overwhelms every other aspect of the audio(the mids and vocals and treble) and not enough kick, there is not enugh vocal presence and mid presence so i find my self cranckin up the frequencys on eq from the range 300 to 16k, the mids to 2dB and frequencys 8k to 16k to 3/4dB the base from frequencys 0 to 200 i turn all the way down to -10dB is this iem going to fit me better or should i get another one id love some recommendations id really appreciate it😊
They sound really good - but I'd certainly like the option of dsp, especially after watching this review. I've emailed Moondrop to see if I can get an answer.
You are paying 65 bucks for an IEM that goes with DSP, which means you're supposed to use them as a pair, not individually, so I don't see any point measuring the housings individually.

Red is neutral with bass boost and neutral timbre, not warm

no, may is not brighter, may sounds dull compared to zero red. zero red sounds analogue, natural, not even warm, it sounds boring to you maybe.
Good on you for releasing this review, now all that's left is for you to release the FLAC file for your outro song
I found that they sound the best with no preset (if you go to custom PEQ and leave everything on 0). Difference is massive like removed veil.
Can't wait for mine to arrive
Just ordered the Chopin 🎉
I prefer technicalities over tuning. I can adjust the tuning in an eq app but i cant adjust for technicalities.
You can. It's just not as easy
tech or timbre, it's all frequency response
Would have tried it if i didn't have enough Budget sets already :D

Sounds like the perfect description of moondrop aria!.. I think you might like the simgot ew200 with a small adjustment of the equalizer
I wish there are sound impression with 3.5mm cable
MINE IS ALREADY ARRIVING!
@@VSN-wb2lytastes like his first time becomes an adult
Allo! Will you review the EW200?
i wonder if you put the DSP to other IEM like blessing 3.
Does the may have an audible noise floor like the other dsp from moondrop?
I get this small buzzing noise when I pause, tried on 3 different phones
what is the solution of buzzing sound ideally ??
Idk i think the may is extremely detailed, but that could be just me.
It's a bit old, but would you be able to consider reviewing the Sony XBA-N3 sometime?

I think you can charge the phones at much faster rates now, now type c becoming standing for the next decade or so i thing its the way to go forward
Can you do a review of the 7hz sonus?
Does the May use the questionable moondrop app?

Letshuoer S15 next
How does it compare to the Hexa?
Looking for some iems to use with the psvr2, hexa seem like the best bang for buck, any suggestions though?
The eartips that cone in the box aren't any good..they don't fit the iem properly even!..im using spare tips i had from my Arias for these.
“right now” 👀👀👀
blessing 3 dusk later
Great video, quick question; what iem should i go for when gaming pubg? budget 450$
XENNS Mangird Top or Yanyin Canon II

still thinking about ea1000 vs ea500lm
Ha me too! The 500 is looking good
WOW, Finally
If Zero Red is #1 under $100, is AFUL Performer 5 still #1 under $300?
I am still getting IE200 for 98 dollars. 🤭

@@teeteetuu94 Thanks Man, i will get it soon. Which cable and tips are you rocking?
Not sure if you've gotten the chance listen to the 7hz Sonus. Would be interesting to your thoughts!

(Pure analog)

now measure them using a regular cable instead of DSP

The May is like listening to MP3 over BT. 😂
Sounds compressed. Hot trash. To be avoided. Hey, the cable is real nice!
Lmao wrong.
