    Just found your channel. Reminds me of John Wilson. Calming and catches a few fishing. Subbed. Keep up the great work.

    Thank you for sharing an enjoyable video of what seemed to be an enjoyable session.👍
    A variety of fish on a nice day. 👏🎣🎣🎣☀️
    Was it a walker that had maybe caught your line and knocked your tripod over?🤔
    Well done on the 2 dogfish.🦈🦈 I love the eyes and markings.❤
    Thanks again for sharing, take care and stay safe.😷

      Yes I did enjoy it. As for the rods going over, I’m not sure there was anyone close enough to walk into the line. So that leaves wind, unlikely , more likely it was a Ray bite. Shame it didn’t hook up if that was the case.
      Always nice to hear from you, king of the emoji’s.
      Stay safe Ian.

    Nice watch haven't fished North Beach for at least 20 years. Always was a half decent place to fish especially during the winter months.

      Thanks very much for the kind words. Still learning on the video front. As for taking fish home, I do take the best ones that over the minimum size limits. Never taken a Dog Fish though. People do say they are good to eat. I would hate to take one home and find I did’t like it so I’d rather return them to the sea.
      Thanks for watching Robert.

    • @theangliaangler
      @theangliaangler  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You are quite right John, a pity the Cod stocks have been ruined by years of over fishing. We don’t learn, still catching more of everything than stocks can replace. As for Smooth Hounds, some showing up already.

    I think putting the rods in the butt cups causes the whole lot to fall over, just rest the butt on the beach and it'll stand - save the butt cups for hard standings - the issue is putting the rods in the cups the rear pivot point is the rear leg and a strong breeze tips the whole lot over as the leeward leg sinks in the sand.

    • @theangliaangler
      @theangliaangler  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you’re right. Why didn’t I think of that? Don’t answer that! I’ll leave the butt cups at home next time. One thing less to carry.

    I have fished there quite often and found it really only fishes well either side of low tide assumed this was because the tide can be really fierce through there at times hence the depth as the sand is scoured out. Not many Bass come out along that stretch again assuming they prefer somewhat more shallow water like Caister.

    • @theangliaangler
      @theangliaangler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Neville for that info, I’ll bear that in mind the next time I fish there. I’m really hoping for some decent Bass this summer, getting a bit tired of all those Dabs and Whiting.
      Thanks for watching, tight lines.

      @@theangliaangler I caught a lot of Bass last year, but it was in the estuaries at both Wells and out on Breydon , in fact I had 19 in an hour at Wells. I only used a small 2 hook flapper with about a 1oz weight and a telescopic spinning rod. I either used freshly dug lug or squid tentacles. What I found that their was only a small window when these fish will feed frantically and it’s usually at slack water or near, when they go crazy, soon as the flow picks up they are gone…

    Not trying to be a "know-it-all" but you do know that those circle hooks work better with the bait below the hook? And what's the name of that shelter you have. It's a great one. Thanx for posting.

    • @theangliaangler
      @theangliaangler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The shelter is a Imax Competition.
      As for the circle hooks, I agree with you if I was using a fish bait, but using Lug worm they are so soft and supple I don’t think its a problem.
      Thanks for your comment. They are always welcome.

    Is there a place in east of England where we can do pier fishing?

    • @theangliaangler
      @theangliaangler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve never done any pier fishing myself but I know in Suffolk you can fish on Southwold pier, there is a charge, and in Norfolk there’s Gorleston, near Gt Yarmouth. Also Cromer pier in North Norfolk which I think you can fish from.
      Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Tight lines.
