      Jeremy if the sled is dying and the headlights are going out it could be caused by the plug being corroded. The plug is located under the hood right above the engine. It controls your screen , key ,and headlights.

      Assaults are bad especially yours they blow up really easy and are all around bad sleds sell it !!!!!!!!

    Proper warm up is so crucial with these 800’s. Don’t rush it or you’ll regret it.

      Streeters Garage Exactly, my 800 fouled a plug one time because I didn’t let it properly warm up

      Even with a warm up the pistons don't last, hopefully this one has the piston upgrade kit.

      @@linken187 agreed. I'm sure the 800 is a lot of fun but the bigger bore Polaris sleds are time bombs. The 600s however last forever. I sold my 08 Dragon with over 12k miles on it and it still had 110psi on the STOCK never rebuilt motor.

    • @offroadcanadian552
      @offroadcanadian552 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      was about to say the same thing ive got a 2011 pro 800 always let it hit 30c before taking off and then just puts around until it comes all the way up to temp. Also turned up the oiler and put a different oil cap on it to keep it going good. Idk what he thinks is expensive for a sled you can get the pro ride chassis sleds for around 5k where I live and thats pretty cheap imo idk what some people spend their money on.

    • @StreetersGarage
      @StreetersGarage 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Big Boolin Yep. I typically don’t go anywhere until it’s 110f. Also need to take it easy after stopping for lunch. The 3 way sensor in the air box gets heat soaked and is slow to come down to ambient air temp.
      The ECU thinks it’s warmer than it is and leans out the mix. Rider gets on the sled and hammers it. Next thing you know it has a meltdown.

    I had a 2005 artic cat F7 and I loved that machine. Had it for 5 years before my daughter’s friend wrecked it. Never had a problem with it sitting over the spring summer and fall . Started right up within the first 3 or 4 pulls. 10 years later and I still think about that machine. RIP my F7

    It looked like it pulled hard after it died and I was just thinking you cold seized it since it only had 30 seconds to warm up.🤦 I watched you for a couple years but this was just hard to watch at the beginning

    Great Sled! Most of our group all had one just like it. Pull the temp gauge up on your dash and let her warm up to around 90 degrees Fahrenheit before you start ripping on her, should help with bog and prevent any long term issues.

    The switchback assults are good sleds. The 800s are prone to to end failure depending on year. Over all you'll be very happy with the sled as is. As for the skis go with a c & a pro great ski in general and a nice upgrade. If you plan to ride packed snow get your self a set of ice scratchers. I'm not big into loud exhaust personally no true gains performance wise and 5 pounds does not make a difference. Not for your average rider. If you get one i recomend the ggb quiet can still has bark but wont make your ears bleed..... Those are some of the more common things we see through the shop for upgrades. Feel free to hit us up on Facebook you would be welcome to join us at our cabin in the upper of Michigan anytime.

  • @AKproXR
    @AKproXR 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    With these assaults you NEED to let it warm to 120F before ripping in it. Otherwise you will run a higher risk of cold seizing it. They also have a tendency to foul plugs if run before at operating temp.

    Not a big fan of the 700 or 800 models always liked the 500 or 600 because of the fuel mileage, dependability, and plenty of power for what I need. Never snowmobiled in Vermont so enjoying your videos and topics. Would be interesting to see what the trails have to offer and any maintenance ideas you may have.

    You've got an electrical issue connected to your ignition. Could be as simple as a bad ground or sensor. That sled is a good candidate for a turbo. Those rmk's are tough and can handle it. In fact Polaris makes a factory turbo just for it for a reason. It would be cool to see you take a trip out west to Montana to sled the mountains here. It's big stuff here. No shortage of powder.

    So how many problems can you have in one video. I've owned a 2008 ski doo 550 fan for 5 years now and never had it stall or had my lights go out never had it catch on fire. Never blew a motor. Fires right up with out the choke. Only thing that happed was I blew my belt when i was stuck one time. And that's it. It runs like a top and will bring the skies up on command. I miss the 700 videos they where the best. But besides that I can't wait for this riding season. Good luck to you and stay safe.

    If you let the old girl warm up to about 110. Don’t let it go over 140. Get some ice scratchers for it. End it should last a long time. I know I know lots of people are saying let it warm up good. I don’t think 100 is quite enough though. I’ve been a tech for a long time. And most times they either blow up because they’re cold seizure or because they sucked in snow. For the most part fun sled. Enjoy it and take good care of it. Now back to business I want you to go back to your old 700 that you decided not to play with last year because of oil in the cylinders. You need to get that running LOL
