‘ I don’t have to isolate myself from the world in order to make peace with myself’ - I love you and I’ve been struggling hardcore these past years mentally, but your words felt like a hug , thank you fellow being❤

Really struck a chord! Started a new job and moved to a cold country and my slow mornings ended from one day to another. Really missing my slow morning rituals but I'm starting to adapt to the new routine and wrapping my head around the fact that I can, in fact, create night time routines! Also trying to give myself grace - life is about chapter and phases and some are smoother than others

Sitting down to 'chat' with you is helping me reflect on my own life with all the 'tangents' you went on. Something I had been avoiding! Thank you.

🙌💯I google translated this because I was curious about what it said haha so my apologies if I misunderstood anything but I agree!!
I also think a challenge with adhd is knowing when you're pushing yourself too far to attain some sort of strict regularity when that's not really what our brains are wired for, adhd or otherwise, it's sort of just a product of capitalism, and knowing that helped me see when I was actually lacking some structure vs. when I felt like the loose structure I had wouldn't be good enough by somebody else's standards, despite it working for me pretty well. Our brains are also physically shaped differently haha so it doesn't make much sense to compare in the first place.
The current world will push a person to believe there is something wrong with them before acknowledging problems with the system that has been built (8 hour work days when people really only have about 4-5 hours of focus in them per day, little leniency for requiring accommodations, etc), and it can be especially difficult for us afab people to let go of the constant self-improvement cycle, but it has helped me to know that very little of it is a "me problem", so that I can remember to advocate for myself and actively think about what sort of structure is important to me and why. I don't know, maybe that can be a helpful reminder to someone else reading this too 💫
