  • Benjamin Crump shares his unfiltered experience about the injustices against black and brown people of America. The attorney also sheds light on the biases behind the “Stand Your Ground” Act and tells the story where undercover officers set up drug deals near a black man’s property who ended up getting fatally shot.
    His book, “Open Season,” touches on the justice system’s assumed goal of trying to break minorities, not only through extensive violence, but also spiritual robbing.

    It irks the hell out of me everytime I hear somebody say black and brown, we as black people need to start doing like they tell you to do on a plane in case of emergency. On an airplane when they give out safety instructions they tell you if you're traveling with a small child put the oxygen mask on yourself first before trying to put it on the child because if you pass out trying to put it on the child first then both of y'all might die. We as black people need to worry bout ourselves first before we try help others. George Zimmerman is of Latino descent we never heard one Latino leader come out and condemn him for the murder of Trayvon Martin. Latinos can blend it with white society we can't. And another thing, how many unarmed Latinos are being murdered by the police, I haven't seen one case this year but we've seen several unarmed black people murdered by the police. So stop saying black and brown when only blacks are being affected. We've been looking out for everybody else for decades now its time to look out for ourselves so you won't ever hear me say black and brown but you will hear me say black all day.

    • @kaula300
      @kaula300 4 ปีที่แล้ว +32

      @paul hicks Exactly he talking bout Latinos are getting deported. Well if they bring their asses over here legally then they can stay. Thanks to the civil rights movement we made that possible for other minorities to come over here. So gtfoh with that bs, we've got our own problems. We've already got the gay community hopping on our backs and riding our waves when it comes to civil rights and white women too. So this is a black issue.

    The fact that so many folks don't know the difference between a criminal attorney, a civil attorney and a district attorney is astounding. He's a civil litigation attorney. Michael Presley You are so right by that fact, to the point the black man hate himself. How can so many of us leave our Queens to raise a family on their own with no guidance or protection from transgressions from those who rather see us disposed? Before we claim that others hate us, we must first start loving us. Turn on any video, you will see the foolery we do just for a “like” that do not benefit us in no fashion. We are quick to defend this foolery because we have lost our way. There is no way that we represent 12% of the total population as a whole, but 80% of people that are incarcerated.Yes there are the discrepancies in socio-economics that have been plaguing us for centuries, including the systemic racism. But we do have a choice to do better is all I’m saying. We gots to do better by our fellow people in order to break this downward spiral of deprivation.

The justice system showed me that as a woman of color, I can be attacked, abused, tortured, kidnapped, r@ped, sodom!zed, and dehumanized but I can NOT fight back.... thank God my lawyer worked out a good deal for me though, I know what I did was wrong in the sense of the crime, but he did wrong too, we both should've been in jail in my opinion if anything because I was just trying to survive.

    👍🏼👍🏼 Great interview guys! This was powerful! Loved listening and I actually held on to every word attorney The attorney was saying… This needs to be taught in our elementary and high schools by African-Americans especially African-American men… Our children need to hear from those who look like them, understand their experience and who are not biased against them. I am a firm believer that we teach our children the necessary Survival skills and education of the unjust justice system here in America so that they are prepared early in life to understand what they are up against. I cannot wait to buy this book. And I am going to send this book as Christmas presents to all of my nephews and nieces and godchildren and any young people that I have on my list… Thank you so much for sharing such needed information. D. Carroll Crump is not a state attorney so you are not going to see him putting people in jail. He doesn’t argue the cases in criminal court. For example, the Trayvon Martin cases was argued by the Florida State attorney against Zimmerman, that case was lost. Crump filed a civil suit against the city and the state that he won a settlement for the family. Criminal and civil cases are different.
      He would have to become a state attorney so that he can argue these cases in the criminal courts.
