"From the excellent View From The Vault Vol. 3, featuring an opening sequence of Let The Good Times Roll/Truckin'/Touch of Grey, this hit song from 1987 was still very warmly received whenever it was played live. Its melody and lyric were so uplifting, and today truer words could not be sung than its final refrain of 'we will get by, we will survive.'" - David Lemieux
i guess Im asking randomly but does someone know of a way to log back into an instagram account? I was dumb forgot the login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Callum Edward thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Seeing Jerry singin n strumming on a hot sweaty summer afternoon takes me back to Highgate VT in June of 95... still miss you Jerry... thank you for being you!
Great run of shows in June 90, 3 nights over the weekend in Sacramento; 3 nights @ Shoreline the following weekend; 2 day shows in Eugene the next weekend 6/8/90 & 6/23/90 among my favorites of the 300+ I attended from 73 through 94
Jerry and Brent are both unbelievable in this. The playing is razor sharp. For example, Jerry’s solo and Brent’s opening are both all time best ever imo.
I saw the Grateful Dead at soldier field in 1993. Jan Terri opened and we deadheads realized she was the real deal and that the torch was finally being passed to a new touring legend. We saw the dawn of a legend and Jan Terri was it it. She played the crowd like a violin and we were in awe of her bands intricate jams and deep profound lyrics
The dead always reminds me of the trips I took with my dad as a kid up to the mountains in NH when he would play his dead cassettes It’s amazing how music can take you back, make you feel the things it does, and speaks to your soul Love this song
Jerry's Guitar is badass. Wonder what happened to it. Can't believe how old he looks and he is only in his late 40s. Crazy how the partying lifestyle really catches up to you. Plus the diabetes didn't help him out. Legend!
Same here after seeing Dead & Co at the Sphere. They were amazing! I am sure the only thing that could have one upped that show is if Jerry had resurrected for the show.
Lovely, respectful reaction..this man wrote this decades ago…great reaction to a great song…it wasn’t religious per se it was love among humans interpreted biblically
such a killer set of shows..all three days were so much fun at the ol' landfill..the LTGTR >truckin>touch was a great trifecta to open a sat night show..played the final Big Boss Man in the first set,,and a monster Terrapin>jam pre drums made this one to remember..
After this album is when the really big stadium and amphitheater shows began. Like a traveling woodstock. Number one act. What a time, best music I ever heard live.
Even Buddah knew he had to let go of letting go, it was the same with Jerry. He did his thing, and left the rest up to us. Where we go with him is also the same road we go without him. The map is there for our exploration, the trip is eternal......
This is brutal. I listened to GD through my brother growing up, but never attended any of their shows. I had no idea they sounded like this live. I am not sure if it's a good idea to keep these videos up on the internet. I'm sure the couldn't have sung/played like this back in the 70s. Jerry can hardly sing in this video.
and thanks for saying something on sunday, the day i play the dead all day long and mostly have been doing that since...oh.....since 1973, but still a hippie man.....!
Love this song, love the dead. But they have so many better songs than this one. It's odd how this was their most successful single by quite a bit. It was huge and all over the radio and even mtv. Funny how the right song at the right time and with the right video will strike a chord with the public and blow up.
F%CK Jerry Looks HEALTHY ! You know that part in dr Hooks cover of t . rolling Stone where where buddy says Ahhh BEAUTiful after the guitar solo , thats what should be Edited in here at the end of the song .

@Callum Edward It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my account !
@Caiden Gatlin You are welcome =)
seeing Jerry smile is one of the most wonderful things in the world
This great song should be the worldwide anthem for 2020
Well Said, In Dead, We Head, Nuff Said.🌈🎶🌬💨🛫🎶🛫🎶🛫🎶☀️🎶💯🎶💪🏼🎶🥰🎶💀🎶❣️
Totally agree
Let’s save it for 2021, 2020 is already way tooshitty for this great song lol
Agreed!
The ABC's we all must face.
Try to keep a little grace.
Beautiful song by Grateful Dead. Long live Jerry Garcia

Great quality vid- Jerry looks happy.
Brent passed away a month after this show. RIP Brent
No shit
Amazing band, amazing music. RIP Phil.
Amazing musicians, amazing song.
Jerry and Brent. Stage Left. All Fire and Smiles. Damn I miss those days...

That Brent sure could murder those keys. He passed away the following month. But he was at the top of his chops game. 😢

It’s amazing how music can take you back, make you feel the things it does, and speaks to your soul
Love this song
I will get by! I will survive!
I was at this show. God damn, they were on point that night. Jerry looked and sounded great. They were all obviously in such a great mood. So was I!!!
finally some more brent
Yeah, even i am guilty of taking that guy for granted.
Midland was cool
that little phraze from brent in 2:27 and then jerry singing ''its a lesson to me'' sounds so magical all together.
I love how loud Bobby's guitar is in the mix.
David St Hubbins he’s a guitar virtuoso
@@litedawg He's the #1 Number Two. Such a great rhythm guitarist!
0:54 clearly jerry doesn't
@@user-lc5uh4ic1z I think Jerry is just mad the clocks are running late, lol.
“Touch Of Grey”IS a Magnificent Greatest HIT 4 Jerry& The Guys!😊
Beautiful sound from the Hammond
Amazing band, amazing music.
The drummers are killing it 😎
Long live the Dead 🍄🌁🍄🌍🍄🔥🍄🌹🍄
That IS the BEST song that they (Ever) .made”! 😊😊
No
What a treat! Jerry and all the guys were awesome. Wish I was born in an earlier time so I could have seen them live.
You see the guy on the piano rocking out? That's the kinda energy I need in my life
His name is Brent and he was one of the greatest keyboard players/singers ever.
@@danielashelford He died about a month after this video of a drug overdose, he looks high in this video....
He was high as a kite on H. Died about 6 weeks later. No one feels like that without drugs
Long love Brent, long live The Grateful Dead ♥️🤙🏼
Made my day better... Thank u all
This is a great song. I do not understand those who put a "minus" (dislike). Sorry, I don't speak English very well
Your English is good.
Jerry's Guitar is badass. Wonder what happened to it. Can't believe how old he looks and he is only in his late 40s. Crazy how the partying lifestyle really catches up to you. Plus the diabetes didn't help him out. Legend!
The specific guitar he plays in this video is currently in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!
My introduction to this band back in 1987. fantastic stuff and a killer version
Fantastic!
Brilliant.. nice to hear Brent..!!🔝🙏😎👌🎶
Beautiful! I love hearing Brent.
Killer vamp section at the beginning. Awesome example of how there ain't another band out there like the Dead.
Hi, New dead head here. I adore this song
Same here after seeing Dead & Co at the Sphere. They were amazing! I am sure the only thing that could have one upped that show is if Jerry had resurrected for the show.
@@vagrante13 Totally agree.
the music is still wonderful great music ,,, r,,i,,p garcia all band members the music we thankyou enjoy million admire and fun ,,,
I will always love this song!!!
Thanks makes me cry
The drums are crazy in this version
Extremely fitting tunes for these troubled times. Thanks for sharing David.
Always
I saw this run, and Cal Expo the week before. 🎶Gone are the days...🌹⚡✌
That 6-8-90 Cal Expo Estimated>Foolish>Jam into Drums is THE SH*T. So triumphant.
Just last night at band practice we were playin a few dead tunes and its comming along nicely! We need to cover this one!
Is this really 31 years ago !? My how time is flying 😎
I like listening to the touch of grey’s from 1982
Hello From Brasil
Lovely, respectful reaction..this man wrote this decades ago…great reaction to a great song…it wasn’t religious per se it was love among humans interpreted biblically
Brent was really playing some interesting organ here. I really loved that guy!
RIP OUR UNFORGETTABLE JERRY GARCIA
Look at the video quality! Holy Cow 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

You can see the love Jerry had for Brent.
AWSOM😳😌😎
5 weeks left on this crazy ride on a rock spinning around a star for Brent. Wish he never walked through that door.
RIP Brent
That is a great slow build of the song.....

Bill always looks like he's having an epileptic fit when he's playing the drums.

Love the dead!!!!!!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
@outlook es
J'aii perdu de vu les Grateful Dead dans les années 80
Je les redecouvre avec grand plaisir.
I love it.
Ah the memories
GD is an marvellous Band. Ich habe Sie 1980 absolutely live in Bremen gesehen!
Beeindruckend und einmalig!
Gibt es ggf. eine adäquate Coverband?
Joe russos almost dead does their own takes on dead songs and dark star orchestra tries to accurately recreate the vibe and sound of dead shows

Phil cooking as always on that six-string bass.
Brent ❤️⚡️
Ty!
love jerry's little licks at the end of this song too.
Looks like he has moccasins on.

I cherish my dads Grateful Dead concert tickets from this era😅
What guitar is Jerry playing? Is that a Gibson SG? If so, that is the MOST Kickass SG I've EVER Seen. Fuckin-A!!!!
That’s a custom guitar made by luthier Doug Irwin. Called Tiger. Edit: actually this one is Rosebud.
Nice to see a band that didn't rely on drugs to boost their career.
Lol
I was there !!!!
Even having to wear a hoody it’s not too cold down below for the hot pants huh Bobby
It's Not Easy Being Cheesy. 😆
Cheesy answers! 😂
Dude their ac was insane
Damn, did Jerry raise his arm up and down at the end like he sometimes did? Right at that very moment, the damn camera goes to Bob!

Bob looks like a corporate guy that plays in a Grateful Dead cover band on the weekend.
Heard this outside the Wal-Mart with my kids...had to introduce them.

@@TC-dw6wg why?
34 years today
I love how the classic black shirt is inside out
Anyone have any info on the guitar Bob is playing? Always loved the sound of it but never heard much about its specs or anything. Thanks in advance!
It's a Casio synth guitar (PG380 I think) with a Modulus graphite neck.
Modulus Black Knife
Wildman Brent on the keyboard
In internet forums, I always hear jokes about Bob's short shorts. Is there an inside joke I'm missing? I get it, they are funny looking, but is there something else?
nah he just used to rock them a lot
What’s up shoreline.
Jerry was in fine form this show!! Funny I don't think this solo has ever been played the same way twice lol
fine form... er... he looks and acts like being 74
@marguskiis7711 I guess that's why art is subjective, right, Cheif lol
