  • The Might Hawks 1873 to 1985 is a documentary about the history of the Hawthorn Football club.
This is an OLD VHS copy so the quality is average.
Interesting to note that while the title says to 1985, the 1986 premiership season is also mention.
Interviews include Dermot Brereton, Jason Dunstall, Allan Jeans, Ron Cook, Leigh Mathews, Peter Knights, David Parkin, John Kennedy, Sandy Ferguson, Peter Hudson and many more club legends

This is the mid 80s history of the club. Hosted by the State Bank man, , "no risk". Even the great Dr Sandy Ferguson is in it! Dr Ferguson delivered all our family except me. 5 kids, grew up in the Auburn area. Victoria Road.

My Nana's brother was Bert Mills. He was like a God, back in his day. Life was slower and perhaps even Happier.

Can someone please tell me why documentaries say hawthorn date back to 1873, but the club say they were founded in 1902?

I remember when my Dad took me to my first ever live game. We were so far up the back of the stand, the players were just dots on the field; very disappointing. I have watched it on TV ever since ☺

HFC founded 1902, the year of 1873 is incorrect.
