Hello Matt Teck [ TECKreacts ] ! Nightwish fan here, your musical quest summoned me. Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band! This live recording is from Wacken Open Air 2013, together with Floor Jansen [pronounced Yansen], the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of an 82K audience. About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen [pronounced Tuo-mas], the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [Sami Vanska was the bassist of the band starting with their 2nd studio album, he was with them until 2001. Then Marco Hietala was bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least. Then in May 2021 Jukka Koskinen [pronounced Yukka] became the bassist of the band, for the Human :II: Nature tour - and recently, the band announced he became a permanent member] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen [he also recorded the bass lines for their 1st studio album]. Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen [pronounced Yukka] is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen [pronounced Tarr-ya] (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps. I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I hope you like them enough to continue the journey. Believe me Nightwish will surprise you with their songs. You will never know what to expect. They are unbelievable live. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. So be prepared. lol " For an extended set of suggestion (with links), I posted 2 huge comments in the community tab in my main YT channel: www.youtube.com/@gabriel.bardac/community 🤘
@@teckreactionsI'm glad that your experience helped you appreciate the high level of the composition and interpretation of the whole band! At the end, you noticed the fans singing along with the pre-recorded choir a counter-chorus, with the same chanted words: "My fall will be for you / My love will be in you / You were the one to cut me / So I'll bleed forever..." I hope you will continue to explore this real treasure of diamonds and pearls. With this hope, I am a new subscriber, to follow your adventure of discovery. All the best, from Romania!

"whose this guy coming out"...that is guitarist extraordinaire Emppu Vuorinen, he was on the stage the whole time - he loves to move around the stage (sometimes running), and is never in one place for very long. His guitar skills are phenomenal, his playing always serves the song and is usually very melodic but make no mistake - when the song calls for it he is a master shredder and employs jaw-dropping tapping techniques. Emppu is known for his mischievous smile, practical jokes, throwing hundreds of picks to the audience every show, and his love of drinking Corona beer on stage.
Emppu's superpower is his versatility. He can bring in very different kinds of guitar tones and play styles depending on what the song needs. But as all Nightwish, he plays exactly what the song needs, no more, no less, no egos involved.
@@teckreactions There'll be some great songs to witness his skills in the recommendations, like "Romanticide", but my personal favourite is their hommage to Pink Floyd's "High Hopes"... But for one or two somewhat spoilery reasons, I'd say don't get to that one right away, try at least "Everdream" and "Romanticide" beforehand 😇
Emppu is *the* guitar player of Nightwish. They only have one guitarist but you never feel like the sound is missing some guitars. Some other metal bands may have up to 3 guitarists. And Troy can obviously play guitar, too, if needed.
As retired music teacher I appreciate reactors who actually discuss the music, instruments and vocal techniques. Too many listen to the music and at the end just say something like, That was great! The former are the only ones I subscribe to. Don't expect every Nightwish song to be like this. Every song is different and each one an adventure. Apart from their most recent album, live performances are the best.
Totally agree, but their live performances are also great with latest album, we just don't have many of those in good quality (no official dvd/bluray). By far the Hellfest 2022 and two songs from the Masters of Rock 2022 are the only ones that are available in good quality. We also had Deichbrand 2022, but unfortunately our remastered version was removed, and only bad quality versions are available.
there have been so many reactions to GLS Wacken that she figured she'd have some fun and did one herself! her name is pronounced Yan-sen, the J is soft. She's one of the best singers I've ever heard and I've heard many of the greats, and I'm a 73-year-old musician and have heard many of the greats from multiple genres. I've heard NW in concert here in Maryland 3 times since 2015. Brilliant. At the end the refrain is "my love will be for you." The drummer here is Jukka who is now behind the scenes, replaced by his former drum teacher Kai Hahto. Both are so superb. Gabriel will be along soon to give you lot of info about NW. "Dead Boy's Poem" live in Buenos Aires is one of my many NW faves.
@@teckreactions This is "Ghost Love Score". From the singer's perspective, along with some aditional info from Floor, and how she feld about this performance. You'll love this! th-cam.com/video/QW_3F186_5Q/w-d-xo.html
♫ My fall will be for you My fall will be for you My love will be in you You were the one to cut me So I’ll bleed forever ♪ That's what it is sung behind the vocals. It is what the guy here is singing like crazy 😃 17:20 Thanks for you reaction ! 👋
That’s the version sung at the end. Earlier in the song it’s slightly different, still talking about “if you’re the one to cut me, then I will bleed forever” (probably not exactly right).
Having a musician react to music is WAY different than a non musician. LOL We are the ones that stand at the back watching HOW they play the instruments while we cross our arms. LOL You'll also find that bands like this, and even Black Metal bands, tend to all be classically trained. Also, Floor Jansen (vocalist) is 6 feet tall. So, yeah, she's tall. And one of the best vocalists in existence.
@@dalestevens3332 Not to be picky, but Floor herself has said that she's 183 cm, which is almost exactly 6 feet. 6'1" is an often repeated claim, but I think someone must have dropped the fractions when converting from the metric system.
Song of Myself was the next track of their performance that night after Ghost Love Score and continued to build on that energy. They were track 13 & 14 out of 15.
@@teckreactions Please make sure to use the link from Gabriel's post, though, and not just the one you find that has the most views. A lot of the Nightwish videos on TH-cam are poor quality, wrong speed, and cut very short at the end, and I wouldn't want that to spoil your experience.
I, personally, found the glory of Floor Jansen about 5 years before she joined Nightwish. I will Forever(that's a hidden joke I'd love people to get) be thankful for that to a certain prog rock composer who gave her a big part on one of his albums. I earlier only knew the powerful voice of her sister Irene. Sadly, I can't just recommend that artist for a reaction, as the man only writes concept albums(Prog Rock Operas) and it's impossible to hear the full glory of his works from a single song. He is a masterful multiinstrumentalist and lyricist, a brilliant storyteller, and a genius at picking the right vocalist for the part in a way that will get the message across right. Well... Even if not as reaction material for your channel... for personal enjoyment... Ayreon. My first contact with it was, The Human Equation. A brilliant album from the middle of the discography, when his signature sound has already matured and he had access to some powerhouse vocalists from multiple music genres(that particular album, a 20 day trip through the mind of a comatose patient having conversations with personifications of his emotions to understand how he got there, includes James LaBrie of Dream Theater as the main character, Mikael Åkerfeldt of Opeth utilizing both his smooth, chilling vocals and his deep yet intelligible growls to portray two different faces of Fear, Irene Jansen as Passion, Devin Townsend as Rage, and more). It is also the most down to earth album in a shared universe spanning eight albums so far. Couldn't recommend anything more.
Ohhhh, you are going to love the drummers with this band. This is Jukka, the first drummer with the band, who unfortunately had to quit due to severe insomnia, but is still with the band in a managerial position. His passionate expression is so great. He was replaced by Kai who is equally skilled but plays in a completely different manner. This entire band consists of extremely talented musicians who play for the song. No egos here. The mastermind behind the band is the keyboardist, Tuomas Holopainen. He composes and writes the lyrics for the majority of the music that they play and is often called the "Metal Mozart." I'm betting that you are going to continue this Nightwish journey and have subscribed to follow you on your journey.
@@WNYretiree Absolutely no offense to Kai, but Jukka is one of my favorite drummers of all time. As a drummer/percussionist for 54 years I truly appreciate his talent.
Welcome to Nightwish. That 'guy' you keep asking about , is one of the founding members, guitarist Emppu Vuorinen. He, original lead singer Tarja Turunen, and the band mastermind, keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, started the band in 1996. Drummer Jukka Nevalainen joined in '97. Bassist seen here is the 2nd , Marko Hietala (joined 2001). Floor is the 3rd , and current singer, taking over mid tour in 2012, about 10 months before this concert. Tuomas writes and composes 90-95% of the songs. This song is a Tarja era song, from the 2004 5th album ,Once. Nope, not the closer here, song #13 of 15 at this show. Showtime/Storytime is the name of the DVD recording. The song is about an unrequited love. Yes, the orchestra is on track, recorded with the London Philharmonic. It is a flaming bulls head, that's the venue logo. Wacken (Vah-ken) Open Air in northern Germany, which is in cattle country. Multi day metal festival held every year , first weekend of August, in front of 80-85k fans. 82k here in 2013 for NW's headline set. Yes, please continue, this entire show was great, try Romanticide, Storytime, or Everdream next from here. And since you said you love symphonic music, there is another symphonic metal band recommended to check out, if you haven't heard them yet. They are called EPICA, like Nightwish they are great live, and also female fronted. Try "Code of Life" live in Amsterdam 2023 at AFAS Live, or "Consign To Oblivion" live at the Zenith in Paris.
i concure 120% to Chriss(did i ever dont concur?...yore my Mantra:D) Epica is also, but very different RAbbit Hole worth to dig in , when loving symph Metal.
"What have I missed".... welcome to my thoughts about 2-2,5 years ago or so. Member of the Danish Nightwish Army joining in. Since my first experience with this song on another reaction channel that long ago, I've ended up getting all of their albums on vinyl and this particular concert on Blu-ray. Every song is different, but everything is spectacularly thought out. Nightwish to me just hits different. I've never really been into metal, but Nightwish opened up my mind to delve into more metal, but at first mainly Symphonic Metal. This particular song sent me down the rabbit hole of Nightwish themselves, Epica and Amaranthe.
Similar here. Not much into typical growly metal. I have some scattered ones I like from older gen metal, like Black Sabbath. Now I adore all kinds of symphonic and folk based metal, and don't mind some growls mixed in. I have experimented singing some scattered songs in the genere, as well. Basically stuff I know I'm not going to over do it trying to get up there, although, strangely I can handle Stargazers and Come Cover Me, and outside my living room or car. I couldn't believe the guy actually had the tracks, so I thought, yup, this is an imperative 😁
@@teckreactions You should also look into Tuomas Holpainen's solo project "Music Inspired By The Life And Times Of Scrooge" and specifically "A Lifetime of Adventure" on there. Marko Hietala's solo album "Pyre of the Black Heart" is also worth looking into, and one of the tracks on there is called "The Voice Of My Father". Well worth a listen and reaction.... And last but not least Floor's solo project/album "Paragon" released last year where both the main track "Paragon" and "Invincible" are showing off she can do pop music just beautifully.
Floor does have a bit of classical training but not as much as you might think. She did 1 year of opera but she is by no means fully classically trained as many of her fans claim. It's mainly natural talent coupled with a lot of experience and hard work - she joined her first band After Forever when she was 16 and she's 43 now. An utterly mind blowing singer in my view.
Whats crazy too is shes said herself that she doesn't even particularly like opera singing. She just knew she had the voice for it and that when she was offered the Nightwish gig she knew she could do it because of watching Tarja perform. She knew she could do it just as well if not better even though she said she doesn't like it very much and that shes more at home in that commercial metal lead singer pocket.
Glad you followed the suggestion of me and many others. Welcome to the Nightwish rabbit hole and a warm welcome from the Nightwish Army. Gabriel was of course already ahead and gave you a very good overview of Nightwish.
Hey y'all. Mr. TEKreacts is the real deal. Within one minute I knew that he's a real pro. Much respect. He picks out time sigs, in like, two progressions, can pick out keys sigs no prob. Goose bumps, tears. And he appreciates pinch harmonics!!
Welcome to the world of Nightwish and symphonic metal. They really are a unique band; each song is different and awesome. Floor's beautiful voice reaches your heart in unexpected ways. It's always amazing watching new people discover this awesome band, specially when they know music, and I hope you continue to explore this amazing band. Hello from the NW Army Portugal.
SouthCentral PA Nightwish division reporting. You just litened to the greatest band with the greatest singer on this planet. The rabbit hole is endless so the army will be your guide. BUCKLE UP
This rabbit hole is possibly the single most worthwhile journey you could make with a musical artist. I know that's a bold statement to make but that's how I really feel...They played some more songs after this one, and had an even better one to close with...That's how good this band and this particular concert recording are...It's kinda hard to believe...
Great reaction..we have all been there with Nightwish discovery…I’m 72 and just discovered them a year ago and they are top of my bucket list to go from Canada to see them hopefully live in Finland when they decide to tour again 🤞🤞 I am excited for you just beginning this epic journey 👍 Bring some carrots. You’re on your way down the Nightwish rabbit hole and it’s a deep and friggin’ awesome one😉
Floor Jansen, First of Her Name, Warrior Queen of the Valkyries, Master of the D6, Snatcher of Souls, Lady of Nightwish and Protector of our Metal Realm. Long may she reign.
It was fascinating watching you listen to the interlude and picking out each instrument as they kicked in. What an ear! All other reactors (and I've seen most of them) simply wait it out without really getting anything from it.
Hello Teck. Nightwish Army reporting from the Netherlands. Welcome to the wonderful world of Nightwish. They are from Finland. And they make Symphonic Metal. What you've heard here is just the tip of what this band can do. Nightwish really hits you in your heart. And that's what makes this band so unique. Her name is Floor Jansen and she is Dutch. There were 82,000 people there. I happily refer you to Gabriel Bardac's comment (he'll be here soon) for a list with lots of song suggestion. Watch out for the Nightwish Army. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Welcome to the Nightwish world! Now you have to listen Storytime,Everdream, Shudder before the beautiful, The Greatest show on Earth, The poet and the pendulum.....
There she goes again! The Valkyrie Goddess snags another soul ! Great reaction! The chior part starts out: My fall will be for you - My fall will be for you - My love will be in you - If you be the one to cut me - I will bleed forever! It morphs at the end to: You were the one to cut me So I’ll bleed forever Lyrically its one of Tuomas' more impressionistic pieces, making it best the first few listens to do what you did and listen to it as it is , a great piece of music without trying to figure the lyrics out. Welcome to the Rabbit hole, let us know when it's Storytime!
I love witnessing people's first time reactions to Nightwish, that never gets old. I have heard this song hundreds of times and still, I get goosebumps every single time. What makes this even cooler is when the reactors are musicians themselves, like you, and show some appreciation for the composition. I really enjoyed the deep dive into the complexity of it, the time signatures, the key changes and chords and, in particular, how you picked up on the different instruments in the orchestral interlude. Many reactors ignore that, you didn't, much appreciated! Honest and heartfelt reaction, I subscribed to see your journey with NW. I see you already got the Nightwish 101 from General Gabriel so I'm stoked to see more. Greetings from the German division of the Nightwish Army.
Welcome to Nightwish and our 6'1 Valkyrie Godess Floor Jansen. Enjoy the rabbit hole that is Nightwish. Nightwish Army North Florida Airborne Div reporting in.
Don't worry we all tear up when Floor hits that crazy note. Its part of what we call a Floorgasm ! Welcome my friend to the Nightwish rabbithole, the hordes will descend upon you. Subscribed to follow your journey !!
NW army Finland reporting💪 Glad you liked our national treasure, the rabbit hole is deep and you will enjoy every second falling into it. I would suggest their song Ever Dream as next. There you will be surprised by the bass player Marko Hietala, or what NW friends? Keep on Rockin🤘
One of the best reations I have seen to this song, and this is the most reacted to song on TH-cam. Well done sir. I always look forward to these reactions from real musicians. Thank you. I hope you keep reacting to more nightwish. Follow Gabriel's (our Nightwish General's) suggestions. It will be a journey!!
As a Nightwish fan, it took me few years to find out the actual choir lyrics on this song, it's so beautiful. Most of their videos have subtitles, it's worth it to enable them, they add so much (not some random mainstream drivel).
That Goosbumpy, shivery feeling that brings a tear to the eye...we call that a Floorgasm, and it's a normal mortal response to raw divinity. Floor's voice counts. Gabriel Bardac has been here, and he has the List and the Lore. Please do more....live versions, please. Nightwish is one of the few bands I prefer to hear live. This was 13th in a 15 song set for Wacken Open Air in front of more than 82,000 people. Be prepared to be amazed.
More to the truth he tends to take off their monitor earphone plugs, mess around eith them etc, he is the joker of the band he has great guitar technic and zero ego, plays what the song needs.
Go to Wakken every year with the family, biggest metal fest in the world. We were at this and i wanted to go home early as i wasn't into Nightwish, before Floor, soooo glad we stayed for it,amazing
Just a comment which I forgot to mention. Your analysis of the songs by Nightwish is fantastic and very accurate. I only know of one other reaction that picked up on the 5 5 4 5 beat. Congratulations
So, Trans Siberian Orchestra worked with Russell Allen. Russell Allen and Floor Jansen worked together on the projects Ayreon and Star One by Arjen Lucassen. Russell also sang on a song from Floor her second band ReVamp. Ayreon is another rabbit hole. Fastest way to understand what it is, is the video of “The day that the world breaks down” on Arjen’s own channel.
Hello! I have watched almost every ghost love score reaction out there, yours is hands down the best one. It felt like I heard the song for the first time 😢 you have a new subscriber ❤
Nightwish Army PNW division reporting for duty! Welcome to one of the greatest metal bands ever. Been a fan for 20 years myself and as a long time metalhead, since I was 9 years old, I consider Floor Jansen to be the greatest singer in the entire genre. Enjoy the journey!
OMG! I do believe your reaction is one of the best EVER to my all-time favorite performance, and I’ve viewed every reaction I could locate! Thank you. Your knowledge of the compilation of this performance was so appreciated. The time signature changes, the mood change of the different movements, the instruments you identified, etc., were all fun to observe during the reaction. Your expressions were priceless! We’re a musical (trumpet, French horn, bassoon, flute, percussion, baritone, piano, and acoustic & electric guitar) family, also from Texas, so this was most refreshing. Music is my sanctuary. 🥰 Well done, YOU. You have a new subscriber!
There is also another member not on stage here. But his name is Troy. He is so multitalented, he is out of this world. He plays: Uilleann pipes, tin whistle, low whistle, guitars, bouzouki, bodhran and vocals. :D A track with him. Check out I want my tears back live from Buenos Aires 2019 :D
@@teckreactions And also "My Walden" from their Wembley 2015 show, this song is a real showcase for Troy - he introduces the song, sings the opening bars in Welsh, and plays the Irish Uilleann pipes and low whistle. As Floor enthusiastically says during the song "Come on Troy, bring us your beautiful pipes"
Great reaction Teck! This is from the Wacken (the "W" is pronounced like a "V") Open Air Festival in Wacken, Germany in 2013. I was introduced to Nightwish in 2022. The first one I heard from them was also from this concert. Please check it out. It's called "Storytime". It's my favorite NW song and I think you'll quickly find out why. "Ghost Love Score" was the second NW song I heard. It's truly amazing. Rock on brother! Enjoy the journey! Btw, Floor is married to a drummer named Hannes Van Dahl. He plays for Sabaton, a Swedish heavy metal band. You should check them out too. All of their songs are history-related. They're practically the Swedish version of Iron Maiden! Their song "1916" would be a good start. Hope this isn't a big info overload for you.
Yeah, who would have thought that a classical style soprano voice and metal instrumentation would go together? Yet it works brilliantly. That's why I love this band.
I have to say this, the sound quality of your video is excellent, I really enjoyed it, I also like your knowledge of music, so a new sub for your channel.
Singers sing what they can, Floor sings what she wants ❤once she sang the phonebook in a Dutch show ❤and it sound like a real song ❤her voice just touch your soul and grab your heart ❤she is one of a kind ❤
Great reaction and welcome to your first Floor-gasm! If I was ever asked the Colbert questionnaire, the one song I would pick to hear for the rest of my life is this one.
Floor is one of the rare empaths that can not only feel deeply within themselves, but is also able to project those deep feelings and emotions onto the listeners. People reacting emotionally and physically to that is called having a "Floorgasm". :)
You're going to have so much fun with nightwish. I recently spent a weekend with a dear friend of mine who I hadn't seen outside of like a gig etc in 15 years. She's like I don't know any new music so we went on a journey. She cried, laughed & said she feels like she knows Floor but doesn't know why. It was so cool to introduce her to the music of nightwish as well as Floor doing her solo stuff
You're right that the 82,000 people in the crowd knew the song as it had been in Nightwish's songbook for many years previously, sung by both previous singers. For most of them though they had never heard Floor's version of it and were as blown away as the rest of us by it. You'll notice that, at the end of the performance, Floor gives kudos to Jukka for his incredible drumming. The orchestra is the London Philharmonic, who have worked with the band almost from their beginnings in 1996. Tuomas has collaborated with their arranger Pip Williams on pretty much every album. I always enjoy the reactions of real musicians to this band, as guys like you appreciate more than most of us can discern, making your reactions more meaningful than most. This rabbit hole is deep and will lead you to Floor's solo work, Auri, Sabaton and even Scrooge McDuck. I won't give the game away, but be prepared for an epic saga.
Thank you for taking the time to listen to this masterpiece ❤😊 Please, continue... we will be with you on this journey. The last song this concert is Last ride of the day😊 Greetings from Finland
Great, great reaction! I love your deeper knowledge about music, and I’m sure you will appreciate Nightwish and all the phenomenal songs that the composer (and mastermind) Tuomas Holopainen has done with this band. Better discover them late than never! New subscriber here! Greetings from Finland!
Matt! What a sweet reaction.....to the sweetest band in the world...just subbed...be a good boy and do all Nightwish has ever done and ever will do! All love from The Netherlands.
Hi Matt! Welcome to the Nightwish community! I feel sure you will not be disappointed by this band, no matter how you approach them. Take heed of Gabriel Bardac's direction. He will guide you through lots of fine music from this excellent band. My comment: Well, you have started with the correct song! This number has led many, many reactors into becoming recruits for the Nightwish Army. Certainly, you have a huge discovery line to follow. Bless you for your kind and candid reaction. Hey, that's the best way to do it! Get yourself down the rabbit hole and discover that there is more to music than you thought there was. Just follow the guidance and enjoy! Peace and love from the U.K.
Nightwish Army, Scotland Division reporting. Welcome, and strap in. You are in for one heck of a ride. I would personally go to "Ever Dream", "Storytime", or "Last Ride of the Day" (all live at Wacken); then the Tampere show with "The Islander". But hey, you'll have a good time wherever your journey takes you.
oh, lucky you you found a treasure chest a dark chest full of wonders "Dark Chest of Wonders" -> opening Track Wacken Open Air 2013 (this show) -> see Gabriel´s links for a next reaction ;) greetings from Germany
This song was about 2 hours into the concert. The closing song is actually, "Last Ride of the Day." Another great candidate for reactions. In fact, every song from this 2013 Wacken concert is brilliant and worth reacting to.
You should also hear the old nightwish version of "phantom of the oprera" with their first singer tarja, just to make your nightwish related phantom journey complete
The first "my fall" giving you goosebumps... would that be considered a premature floorg... never mind. She's just that awesome. Nothing premature about it.
Hello TECKreacts. Nightwish Army Phoenix new subscriber here for you. Awesome reaction and analysis to our beloved Nightwish with our 6'1" Valkyrie goddess, Floor, on lead vocals. You have now dipped your toe into our Nightwish rabbit hole. Come on in. You won't regret the journey.
Gabriel is right. next few are: "Storytime" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals) "Romanticide" live at Wacken 2013 (metal) "Ever Dream" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals)
Many reaction channels do Nightwish because it brings the Army (rightfully so!). It was awesome to experience this with you because you were able to pick out and appreciate the musical genius of the composition. You bring value to the reaction with this unique perspective. Those are the channels I subscribe to. Your nightwish journey will be a long one, but you'll enjoy every minute of it. P.S. I'm also here for more Electric Callboy reactions 😉
Another soul carried away by our Valkyrie goddess. The rabbit hole is deep but worth the dive. Floor can sing anything from opera to death growls. This is just the beginning. Enjoy the ride. New sub here.
Nightwish Army Member reporting from Germany! Enjoyed your reaction, especially your insights of the music itself. And don't be afraid about the tears, goosebumps and stuff. You experienced a clean, strong and returning Floorgasm! Can't wait to see more of you reacting to Nightwish. Just follow General Gabriels list and you will figure out so much more about this incredible band! My favorites btw: Storytime (Wacken Live 2013), Shudder before the beautiful (Wembly Live 2025), The Greatest Show on Earth (Tampere Live). Cya soon!
18:53 Funny you mention that - in this same Wacken 2013 concert the NW guitarist and drummer also do a similar kind of 'hand signal number of hits' at the end of the track "Last of the wilds"
Great reaction and welcome to the rabbit hole. You're going to love it. A great example of the signal you mentioned comes at the end of 'Last of the Wilds' from this show.
Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer.
So be prepared. lol "

Approaching 3 years down the Nightwish rabbit hole. In my 60's, love this band and never tire of them.
My favorite pass-time. 🤘😝🤘
Looking forward to more!
@@Wolf-ln1ml : High Hopes is indeed a good piece to show what Emppu is capable of.
Emppu is *the* guitar player of Nightwish. They only have one guitarist but you never feel like the sound is missing some guitars. Some other metal bands may have up to 3 guitarists. And Troy can obviously play guitar, too, if needed.
Tears in your eyes, unknown body reactions, etcetera... It's all because of a Floorgasm.

@@teckreactions That is a word often used when reacting to NW. NW army Denmark checking in.

"This is the perfect song for closing a concert".
Everyone said that until they saw 'Greatest Show on Earth."
Looking forward to it!
Same, I like a bit of analysis with my reaction!
General Gabriel Bardac of the Nightwish Army will be along presently with all the information you need.
Ha! Looking forward to it!
Even Floor herself teared up when she did a reaction video to this performance. 😀
No way.
there have been so many reactions to GLS Wacken that she figured she'd have some fun and did one herself! her name is pronounced Yan-sen, the J is soft. Song of Myself was the next track of their performance that night after Ghost Love Score and continued to build on that energy. They were track 13 & 14 out of 15.
I would also suggest Song of Myself, same concert, the track right after this epic masterpiece...
@@teckreactions Please make sure to use the link from Gabriel's post, though, and not just the one you find that has the most views. A lot of the Nightwish videos on TH-cam are poor quality, wrong speed, and cut very short at the end, and I wouldn't want that to spoil your experience.
"I almost had tears in my eyes. I don't know why..."
That does tend to happen when it's Floor who's singing.
My body started doing things I did not expect.
Sad story, but looking forward to hearing and learning more.

Awesome!
Pretty incredible.
Even that one year does qualify her as classically trained. As someone who is, I can attest to that.

He plays for Sabaton, a Swedish heavy metal band. You should check them out too. All of their songs are history-related. They're practically the Swedish version of Iron Maiden! Their song "1916" would be a good start. Hope this isn't a big info overload for you.
Looking forward to more!
Yeah, who would have thought that a classical style soprano voice and metal instrumentation would go together? Yet it works brilliantly. That's why I love this band.
Brilliant indeed 🤘🏻
I have to say this, the sound quality of your video is excellent, I really enjoyed it, I also like your knowledge of music, so a new sub for your channel.
Thank you very much!
Singers sing what they can, Floor sings what she wants ❤once she sang the phonebook in a Dutch show ❤and it sound like a real song ❤her voice just touch your soul and grab your heart ❤she is one of a kind ❤
She did NOT! What?
@@teckreactions sang the phonebook in a Dutch show, just searc for Floor sing the phonebook
Great reaction and welcome to your first Floor-gasm! If I was ever asked the Colbert questionnaire, the one song I would pick to hear for the rest of my life is this one.
Nice
You can count, and seem appreciative - I'm in! /New subscriber
Awesome! Thank you!
Floor is one of the rare empaths that can not only feel deeply within themselves, but is also able to project those deep feelings and emotions onto the listeners. People reacting emotionally and physically to that is called having a "Floorgasm". :)
Crazy term. That's hilarious.
Can't wait!
Will do
Symphonic rock is my favorite style. I recommend Within Temptation, Epica, Beyond the Black, and Ad Infinitum
Love it
the choir in the back sings :
"My fall will be for you.
My love will be in you.
You were the one to cut me.
So I’ll bleed forever."
Interesting.
Yes, that's a track in the background. They couldn't get the London Philharmonic to perform there live, so, you know, it's a recording of them. :)
I love it.
@@teckreactions You might find on YT videos for "the making of".
Also "Please learn the set in 48 hours", a real eye-opener.
Thank you for taking the time to listen to this masterpiece ❤😊 Please, continue... we will be with you on this journey. The last song this concert is Last ride of the day😊 Greetings from Finland
Greetings. Thanks!
🤗🍒🤘🏻 well done and welcome to the Nightwish Family
Thank you!! 😁

@@teckreactions Fantastic!

Me too!
NightWish ARMY!!! Michigan division here. This will NEVER get old as long as I'M a live!!!!!!!!!
Awesome!
Thank you! Looking forward to more.
I absolutely love watching people react to Floor/Nightwish for the first time. And I get goosebumps EVERY time I listen to NW.
oh, lucky you
you found a treasure chest
a dark chest
full of wonders
"Dark Chest of Wonders" -> opening Track Wacken Open Air 2013 (this show) -> see Gabriel´s links for a next reaction ;)
greetings from Germany
Greetings! Thanks for being here.
This song was about 2 hours into the concert. The closing song is actually, "Last Ride of the Day." Another great candidate for reactions. In fact, every song from this 2013 Wacken concert is brilliant and worth reacting to.
Will do.
And you shall have more, a lot more LOL. They closed with " Last Ride Of The Day " appropriately named. Welcome and enjoy tour journey. Be well.
Thanks!
NWArmy here, welcome and enjoy your ride into this amazing band 🤘💯 Greetings from Greece.
Thank you! Greetings!
You should also hear the old nightwish version of "phantom of the oprera" with their first singer tarja, just to make your nightwish related phantom journey complete
Will do
Tears of pure amazement, wonderment and AWESOMENESS!!!!.
Yeah!
Waiting for the general to arrive 🤨🤘🏻🎶❤️ they are called “ Floorgasms” the hair standing up on your arm 🙃
I had a few of those!
The first "my fall" giving you goosebumps... would that be considered a premature floorg... never mind. She's just that awesome. Nothing premature about it.
@@LongandWeirdName No, that's called multiple...
Glad to be here. Thanks for the sub!
Your love for the oboe made me love you! I agree 💯!
It's so beautiful.
I think i really know what you feel while listening this, its amazing performance
It is!
Gabriel is right. next few are:
"Storytime" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals)
"Romanticide" live at Wacken 2013 (metal)
"Ever Dream" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals)
On it.
Thanks!!! 💙
Another soul carried away by our Valkyrie goddess. The rabbit hole is deep but worth the dive. Floor can sing anything from opera to death growls. This is just the beginning. Enjoy the ride. New sub here.
Thanks for hopping in!
Cya soon!
Thank you! More coming this week!
18:53 Funny you mention that - in this same Wacken 2013 concert the NW guitarist and drummer also do a similar kind of 'hand signal number of hits' at the end of the track "Last of the wilds"
NEAT!
Thanks for giving a shout out to the oboe. A very underrated instrument. Looking forward to more Nightwish, Greetings from the Netherlands.
Thank you too!
Thank you, greetings from Finland🇫🇮👋!
Hello there! Thanks for watching.
When Floor smiles the crowd melts, when she sorrows the crowd weeps.
Wow
Great to have you on board....now buckle up!!😅
That's the plan!
Great reaction and welcome to the rabbit hole. You're going to love it. A great example of the signal you mentioned comes at the end of 'Last of the Wilds' from this show. It's an instrumental the boys played while Floor was changing costume. You'll see Empuu (guitar), signal to Jukka (drums), how many hits he wants to close the tune out.
