I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing these videos, especially of Mage Knight! It is my favourite game, but since it takes a long time to play it I don’t get the chance to play it a lot. Those perfectly edited videos of 1/2 hours make it very easy for me to watch them and fulfill this craving of Mage Knight I often have. Keep up the videos, they are excellent!😄👍🏼
Thanks for the awesome video it helped me understand some flaws in my own playing. You are playing much more aggressively and it is paying off with leveling up so much and getting extra cards and spells. I will try this on my next playthrough!
This is probably the most incredible final boss I’ve seen in any of your recordings, man. 9 enemies total…wow. It’s amazing how all of these actions and units come together into a package that can end a battle, and it just seems that the math is always “perfect” for these moments. Excellent gameplay!
Woo, more Mage Knight! I will never say no to more Mage Knight. Like, if you wanted to make this channel nothing but Mage Knight videos, I would not complain. I'm kidding, I've been really liking your Xia series and am looking forward to your new Arkham campaign even though I'm a middling fan of Arkham at best. But I'm not kidding about never saying no to a Mage Knight video though.
Hahahahahaa!! I am with you on mage knight. I could play that game almost every day and be a happy as a clam! Do you have a favorite scenario to play solo?
@@OneStopCoopShop It's maybe a bit boring but I actually like solo conquest the best, it feels the most... 'sandboxy' is how I might put it. You have so much freedom to do things your own way. The other scenarios are nice once in a while but Vanilla is the flavor you can always come back to, I guess.
I just wanted to tell you i LOVE watching your play through. Please make more. I really love this quest. So this one again with a new Mage Knight. Pleeeeaaaase.
36:48 of course mentioning a two-card draw made you say BERAVOR instead of Braevelar, luckily i was in between two sips when i heard that. 😂 love your videos, Colin, thanks so much!
Have played coop against Volkaire years ago, but recently picked up Mageknight Ultimate for myself. Just soloed Volkaire this evening and WOW! I have played so many games of mageknight since I got it, it just keeps getting better with every play!
Great play through. I recently got mage knight and have played twice. You are damn good at this game. I’ve learned a lot from watching your videos. Example: is good to be aggressive to get more experience quickly, and to get more units, spells and artifacts, because they are super helpful late game.
Thanks so much Chris! Those early game aggressive moves are super important to be able to benefit from the skills and cards you gain. The biggest thing you then have to worry about is Wound control, which can either come with some sort of skill ability or those Magical Glades! :)
Honestly, most entertaining playthroughs are from you. I enjoy the clear cut camera angles and how everything is explained. Kinda disappointing when I run out of videos to watch lol
Great let's play ! Congrats on winning the scenario. FYI, at 57:47 you're not supposed to see ennemis in sites during the night when adjacent to them. That's only during the day. During the night, you attack them blindly.
6:53 the rule is that if you take a number of wounds (at once, in a single combat action) that is equal to or higher than your unmodified handsize, you get knocked out. it could be the case that you already have some wounds in your hand from earlier rounds.
49:00 this is correct - you gain the +1 rep from Thugs at the time of defeating them, and then have to suffer -2 rep at the end of your turn. so you go X to -5 to X.
I am just watching this for the first time, a little late I know. It seems to me that the deed cards played in the attack phase should be fully resolved before moving to the combat outcomes. Therefore the negative effects should apply first, then the rewards. Just like the negative reputation for assaulting the keep happens immediately. Just my two cents.
What an Enjoyment to watchin this Playthrough. A mornin coffee and Mage Knight, nice Combination. Also learned a lot. Looks like i need to take wounds more often, instead of trying to block close to everything. So thanks for the entertainin content. 👍☕
37:41 this is not explicitly stated in the rules, but Volkare does not not behave "like a city" by default, you are intended to reveal his army only upon first fighting it.

Thanks to this playtrough. I brought out my own copy and played it 3 times in a row this weekend. Admittedly I quitted in the middle on second game since my plan went really wrong and I knew I couldn't beat the second city for sure. The third game made me realize that with specific situation 'Sword of Justice' can be so OP. I was lucky enough to get sparing power tactic + skill that allow to draw 2 cards + Tranquility + 3 conquered keep. With so many cards in hand, I just bunched all enemies and took them out in one blow. So satisfying hahaha.
Just stumbled across this on my recommendations and oh man I forget how good Mage Knight is but also you made it seem so simple to operate Volkare. I was always intimidated *ha!* by using the lost legion expansion volkare scenarios but you give me confidence in trying it again :)
You probably won't see this, but these videos made us finally dig into MK and absorb the rules, now it's our favorite and we're 3 scenarios deep into the custom "Betrayal" campaign. Hey Colin! Great playthrough as always! You stomped Volkare! I'll say that you made it easy on you by choosing to play at the fair speed. At this point you are experienced enough that the added challenge would make the game more interesting. Also i now you don't care about scoring but it is a way to make the decisions more meningful. You'll have to think twice before taking too many wounds or destroying all your artifacts since those factor in your score.

No scenario rule, however, overrides the rules about tile exploration by the players. In order to be revealed, facedown countryside tiles and core tiles must therefore be adjacent to the requisite number of already revealed tiles, per p. 6 in the base game rulebook.
That. Was. Insane. Always love mage knight, and one of my favorite videos of yours so far! Quick question, and I think i've been playing wrong this whole time- can you play cards sideways to begin an action or can they only be used to aid an action? A couple times I thought you may have used only sideways cards or sideways cards plus your movement. Could totally have been lost in the shuffle on my end from watching though :) Thanks so much for a great great playthrough!
15:47 i think you played it wrong, the Ranged Fire Attack 3 deal three damage but you have to do 6 more (not 3) because only Fire attack deal full damage others are halve
That 2-space move at 18:53 doesn't look right. It looks like he moved along the edge between the hexes rather than from hex to hex. Is that how he's supposed to move?
Great job! You should clearly aim at increasing difficulty! Looking forward to your next mageknight playthrough. Maybe you could try one of the fan made scenarios in internet (something new besides the good old volkaire or city conquering)

@@OneStopCoopShop that would be awesome!!! I made one up recently based on conquering 3 labyrinths (since i feel its a site relatively unused) but still calibrating a few things
28:36 just to check a rule .. I don’t think you can use red mana crystals against an enemy with fire resistance . Does anyone know if that is correct ?..very entertaining Colin
@@OneStopCoopShop Just to clarify on this, it is only the non-Attack and non-Block parts of red (or blue for ice resistance) cards that have no effect. You can still use red spells to e.g. deal Attack damage to a fire resistant enemy.
@@OneStopCoopShop What an unreal turn around for a comment reply haha! Glad you are, I'll have to check out the recent stuff. Any plans for a return to MK?
I haven't played 2 player so I'm not sure on that. I personally love the scenario where you take out the two avatars. But really you can't go wrong with any of them!
I remember my first play of solo conquest and completely got the rules wrong with regards to enemy elemental attacks. Like if they have fire attack I must have fire block of equal value to avoid wound otherwise (and this is were I got it wrong), I get double damage! Not to mention I assaulted a red city which granted all defenders with Brutal attribute and I was thinking about that stupid fire mage for potentially inflicting me 24 damage if I didn't block! Though I made a work around about that (I had enough ranged attack), I just made the game hardet for myself 😅.
@@OneStopCoopShop yeah, imagine the amount of wounds if you'll tank it all. Good lords I got it all right now 😂. This game is crazy good despite the dense barrier of learning it. Combats are like puzzles.
Not sure if this is meant to be a clear rule, but for playing night spells, can you still only use one die from the source or do you get to use the spell’s source die AND a night source die for free? Or do you actually have to be able to use the second die or somehow get a black mana token to play the night spell?
You only can use 1 due from the source per turn. You need to find ways to use multiple or create tokens for a specific turn. Magical glasses at night give you a free black mana token, so there are ways! Those night abilities are pretty insane too
You can spread damage with 1 card, the only catch is that if any of the enemies have a resistance type, ALL enemies gain that resistance who you attack with 1 card. For example, if I fought 3 tokens and 1 had fire resistance, and one had physical resistance, then all 3 tokens would have both fire and physical resistance. That is why generally this is not a good idea unless you have tokens with no resistances. Also this is different than blocking. you can only block one enemy at a time! So many rules huh? HAA!
@@OneStopCoopShop Just a clarification here - the resistances are not "shared", it is only the physical/fire/ice attacks that become inefficient against the group. So e.g. immunity against the non-Attack/non-Block effects which physical/fire/ice-resistant enemies have does not spread to the other enemies in the group. Also, if one enemy has fire resistance and another has ice resistance, it doesn't mean that the group has cold fire resistance i.e. cold fire attacks would still be efficient against the group.
At 26:25 you choose your new skill but then moved right into the card draw for the next turn. Didn't look like you suffered for missing the advanced action though, you rocked this playthrough.

Great video! This is my least-favourite scenario in the game, but watching you play it is a lot of fun!
Oh really? Why is that! Thanks for watching!
Yeeey you did what I ask.. Thank you so much. :D
Whoot!!
On the last fight you had a siege attack 10 from that one card. I thought the damage had to be assigned to one unit and not spread out like you did
You can spread damage with 1 card, the only catch is that if any of the enemies have a resistance type, ALL enemies gain that resistance who you attack with 1 card.
Hey, looks like you missed taking an advanced action card when you leveled up after taking the mage tower on night 1.
Can you give me a time stamp? Thanks!
At 26:25 you choose your new skill but then moved right into the card draw for the next turn. Didn't look like you suffered for missing the advanced action though, you rocked this playthrough.
Thanks for that I added a subtitle! Appreciate you watching and commenting!
I’m not judging, but are we sure Volkair is the baddy in this game? I’m not sure if Colin is the hero here…. :)
BUHAHAHAHA! Judging by that reputation track. . . . I am not going to deny that!
I wish this game got a 2nd Edition - same rules and content - just better looking art and components
Huh I get you on the art, but the components with pre-painted minis can't really complain!
