Simple fact is every club that was publicly linked him, backed out coz of the PR backlash. Imo, United have sorted some kind of deal with Getafe to help clean up the MG PR, that way come summer, some of those clubs that backed out, are likely to come back in. I would say that I don't see why it matters where he is playing his football at, if he plays again at all, so I don't know why it's seemingly okay for him to play at Getafe but NOT okay for him to play at United? I find it odd that people are seemingly okay with him going out on loan but are EXTREMELY ENRAGED at the thought of him playing for United again. Like, what the hell does the team he's playing for matter? Shouldn't it just be that people either agree that he gets a second chance at ANY team OR he doesn't get to play again at all? Seems like some kind of double standard... That said, I'm a United fan and I don't have an issue with him coming back and playing for United after a season away, barring any other ridiculousness that were to take place in the meantime. Do I think that he did something wrong? Yup. Do I think he deserves a second chance? Yup. Do I care what team it's at? Nope, because I guarantee that if, as an example, the same Chelsea/City/Liverpool/Arsenal/*Insert any team at all* fans that are ENRAGED right now at the thought of him playing for United ever again would EASILY change their tune in a second if he scores 15 goals next season at Getafe and then he's brought in to play for them. YOU CANNOT HAVE IT BOTH WAYS.
I 100% don't get this "he deserves a second chance" argument. if you think he's currently getting a "second chance" you accept he beat and raped his girlfriend. How on earth can you believe he did the things he's accused of, and be fine with him getting away with it like this?
Most United Fans don’t have an issue with it, it’s everyone else and it’s double standard, I will only say he shouldn’t play for my club any longer when he has been found guilty by a court, if it was so egregious and bad the CPS and the police would have pushed to take him court and press charges even if the witness dropped out or refused to pursue the case, I’ve seen it happen lots of time where a suspect was still charged after the case was dropped in a domestic violence situation.
I’m a Liverpool fan so I have zero skin in the game of wanting to see Greenwood back playing for man United. But are we saying here that there is no chance of redemption for greenwood? Are we saying that he must live the rest of his life paying for a mistake he made as a teenager? Not once during this chat did anyone consider any path that greenwood could take towards redemption, they were all just happy to condemn him for the rest of career. Obviously no one condones what he did, it was utterly despicable, but the way he’s been condemned forever doesnt sit right with me either
You can't seek redemption while refusing to accept the responsibility of your own actions or even acknowledge that they took place. The entire time he has only ever acted as a bully, a coward and a liar and so should be treated as such.

The premier league bais around this table is shocking, 12 goals in any top 5 league is good from an attacker (not striker) in a season, look at Darwin to Liverpool, they may have overpayed but he did less in a lesser league and Liverpool paid nearly triple the 30m they’re talking about. I agree with the discussion except one thing. Mason is a Generational talent, even Sir Alex had tipped him to become a great. That's why united will try all they can to cash in or bring him back.
Generational talent my ass, what are you on about
Simple fact is every club that was publicly linked him, backed out coz of the PR backlash.
Imo, United have sorted some kind of deal with Getafe to help clean up the MG PR, that way come summer, some of those clubs that backed out, are likely to come back in. Plus, if he actually does good out there stats wise, it might actually add value to him.
At the end of the day, it's a money play. Usually is when it comes to United.
Where's the proof he's a generational talent? That phrase is banded about far too much, based on a couple of good seasons.

For a player that hasnt played football of any level to score 12 goals in a top 5 league is extremely impressive imo

Has nobody stopped to consider the idea that he’s likely gone on loan as it would’ve been almost impossible to get a decent transfer fee for him this summer. He hasn’t played for over 18 months and is also carrying the excess baggage of the media shitstorm behind him, nobody is going to gamble a big transfer fee when there’s a good chance he’s incapable of playing at the top level anymore. The only realistic outcome was going to be a loan move so an assessment can be made on his true value.

My only problem with this situation is that he isn't getting punished. I believe he did it but if he has reflected on it and wants to change he should be allowed to 100% but i feel like he is getting off easy. When a person does something bad and isn't punished appropriately he/she is likely to repeat it

What could possibly be the ‘full picture’ of him threatening to rape her, and those photos of her with blood all over her? We live in a democracy, people have the right to have an opinion on him, and the overwhelming majority have decided he’s scum who deserves to suffer some consequences for his actions (I.e. losing his job, which is the bare minimum honestly). It’s not difficult to do that whilst also respecting the fact he’s a legally innocent citizen with rights like the rest of us.

Makes no difference to the public domain, the evidence that is already out there before the investigation took place. A player that has that in view doesn't deserve a career as a role model.

When observing how some Western individuals judge Greenwood even after the victim forgave him, it is crucial to reflect on their own history, including actions that affected millions in India, Africa, and other regions. English people may owe reparations to various countries due to historical injustices, as they sometimes appear judgmental and act as if they are flawless.
Nice Agenda there Greenwood fanboy. Lol this clown probably thinks it’s racism or something. Greenwood did something horrible and there is evidence to prove. Rich people get away with anything
