It’s saved me so many times! I leave little trails of paper triangles around the house 😂 Wheelie x

Glad to see your feeling a bit better. Love your animations. Delightful. I’ve got an old yarn needle that was my grandmothers and it’s terrific. The eye is slightly different to the modern ones and I think that’s the secret, I have no trouble threading with it. I guard it with my life. My Aphid you made me wants some piercings but I think he should wait till he’s a bit older. 🌈🐞♥️

Hi ❤️ I’m limping along again (actually, I’m wheeling… 🙄😆). I’m so glad you liked the little videos! I had a lot of fun making them and I have a few more up my sleeve that I will try to find an excuse to include in a video soon (I’m thinking they’ll be good to put at the end, in that ‘dead’ bit of a youtube video that half the time just gets cut off.) I’d be interested to see your mysterious antique needle, maybe snap a pic and email it?? The little aphid is definitely too young for piercings, young amigurumi these days - next thing it’ll be wanting a tatt!! 👩🏻‍🦼

@@wheeliemadeitcrochet your reply gave me such a laugh. Yes, every morning from my mantelpiece, he wants a tattoo of a rose bush…more like him and his mates eating said rose bush, no way, what is it with young insects these days? I’ve said he can get one of a can of insect spray (environmentally friendly of course . )
I’ll send you a photo of my wonderful yarn needle, I’m amazed the crochet burglars haven’t been after it before this,

Thanks for the early morning laugh over breakfast 😅. Seriously they are great tips. Love the paper idea for threading.

Hi Amanda - I’m so pleased you laughed!! 😊😊 the paper saves me so often with really chunky yarn - and my son tries to turn all my random folded triangles into tiny paper planes 🤣😂 Wheelie x

I love the creativity of the whole video! Really liked the 2nd tip to thread the needle. Never seen that before.

Thanks so much Jessica, I had fun making this one ☺️☺️ So glad you like the paper trick! I felt very inventive when I came up with it - when I first started crocheting I only owned sewing needles, so threading yarn was a *time*. Working out I could use paper seemed like a magic trick 🪄🎩. I’ve since realised that I’m not even close to the first person to come up with using paper in similar ways, but it’s still very cool to have a way to thread even seriously chunky yarn without a struggle 👩🏻‍🦼 Wheelie

Happy New Year, Lorraine ❤️ Haha, thank you! My son and I had a lot of fun giving the sheep their piercings - the poor pink sheep is still a little knocked around 😂😂

Thanks Susan ❤️ I am feeling quite a bit better, thank you! I had this video pretty much finished except for the subtitles when my son generously gave me Covid, so it was nice to have something easy to finish off when I was recovering. Now it’s up, I have absolutely no idea what I’m going to do next 🤔. Usually I have approximately 15 million ideas for what to do next… at the moment I just want to sit in the air con (it’s *hot* here), crochet repetitive blankets… and fall asleep. I am so grateful for crochet at times like this, it’s good to have something to do that is just relaxing 😌. Happy New Year! 👩🏻‍🦼Wheelie

😂 I am the same!! I make the same kind of resolution each year that I’m going to use the yarn I already have, not just buy more all the time… but there’s always a *very good* reason I need to buy a different yarn 🧶😍😂

Great tips! I do have some of the metal ones with the nylon loop instead of an eye & they work quite well.

  • @pamallen2498

A sturdy straw or something like it, pass a cord through with a loop on the end. Put the yarn through the loop and pull through. Different size tube would allow very large or small yarn to be threaded.
