These episodes never fail to inspire me to clean up while watching; half my room is now clean & dust free! It's sad though that to so many people it is such a hard task to let go of things, even when there isn't any emotional value in it anymore. The thought '-but what if...' is what keeps them from letting go. ' What if... I might need it in the future? What if... it turns out to be valuable? What if... I regret throwing it away?
I am so glad that his poor man is getting help with his hoarding disorder. His friend is a true friend to stand by him under the circumstances. It is nice to think of the house being renovated and turned into a happy family home. Great episode.
It breaks my heart. This boy was moabing the death of his brother and all they could think of was that the hugs and the comfort his mother gave him was making hin queer???? What an fucked up world we live in! Boys and men cry because they are human beeings! Bless his soul! Good thing he has his friend and get's help, even so late.
Poor Simon is being taken advantage of by letting Paul move part of the hoard to his house….! Say NO more or otherwise he can leave…Have the guts to do that, Simon!!💪🏼 Great episode. Good luck with your recovery Paul. When you are tempted to buy something always ask yourself; “Do I need it or want it?” Most of the times it is a want, if that is the case you walk away! God Bless you and Simon🙏🏼🍀👋🏼🇨🇦
I have known several severe hoarders in my life. This one is extreme. At least he didn't have a bunch of cats or other pets. A friend of mine (who has multiple health issues) has just been taken to the hospital due to physical and mental health problems. Her house is unlivable because of her cats. She quit taking care of her indoor cats (except feeding them) over a year ago. It's so sad and tragic when a person can't take care of themselves or their animals. I am glad Paul got help and hope he continues to heal and not continue to clutter up Simon's house.
Very lucky to have such a good friend , willing to take him in , giving him a place to live .... But I pray to God , that his house won't end up looking like that in the near future ... Good thing the psychiatrist went to inspect ! At least she was in time to put a HALT to it ! The friend will have to remain STERN about NOTHING being brought into his house ... Still happy he fetched over a 100 thousand £ quid for his place ! Even in that shape and all the work required to bring it back up to a good livable stage ! Thanks for this whole episode ! 👍👍👍🙏🥰
So sad are the stories we tell ourselves to justify our feelings. I am very concerned about Simon allowing Paul to create such a hidey hole in his house. Hope that got sorted out.
I've seen this before; when this guy moved out moving in with his partner bringing some of his hoard into his friend's house to hoard again. 90% hoarders rehoard and never recover.
When he is said that there's a problem with clutter he always starts to talk like a child promossing that he will watch it through. but when? life has an end and will you spend it for keeping clutter? he destroyed his own property and his friend's house is on the way to the same condition.
Best of luck to you Paul and Simon. Paul, Simon.. Paul Simon! Maybe you two should start take singing lessons?! The cleaners truly have got such a meaningful job..
its pretty awful how he uses Simon, hoarding his home so it becomes destroyed like his was. It seems he looked for someone too weak to stand up to him and now he doesnt care about poor simons feelings at all. He destroyed his family home, his nest egg and wasted hundreds of thousands of pounds on clothes and books he threw away because of rats and filth. just awful.
That's crazy. If it was in Sydney, Australia it would fetch over a million probs just for the land it sits on, , then it would be bulldozed and a new house built
This may be a clean-up expert, but the pro has no clue on hoarding: You do not just show up with a dumpster. You have to have lots of boxes at the ready, a roll of bubblewrap & packing paper; a pack of multi-colored index cards, clear packing tape, brown packing tape, markers. First, you ASK the person, what kinds of things matter to them? The idea is to de-stress the person by demonstrating respect for their posessions. Understanding, love & compassion will take you much further than labeling your cover shots of his posessions "filth." Sooooo...You have the boxes or plastic totes lined up with color coded index card labels like Books Personal Keep Books Sell Regular Collectors Books (to appraise/post onĺine) Magazines (Donate) Magazines [1 box only, keep] Clothes Antique collectibles for museum For sale To gift To keep Small useful items Papers to sort ___(years that are represented in this box) You also have different kinds of bags Blue = recycle (if the person is compulsive about it). (Most hoards are too contaminated with mouse feces for them to be used even if cleaned) Clear save White - "I Surrender" - kidding, it's "Not Sures" Black contractor is throw away Bown Paper = compost It just makes it much easier in the long run. And, even better, they are *not* left with a "dodgepodge" of never-gets-sorted, items mixed up that he'll hoarde up in his new place. Keep boxes to under 40 pounds/18 kilos to save your backs. The problem is an inability to choose, so have a designer look at his new place and talk to him. List his fave books. Book shelves are the measuring cup for books. Reassure him that ordinary books can be gotten cheaply online, and collectors books need to be given or sold so that someone else can enjoy them & they don't transmogrify into mousepoop in the piles. Good luck!
I feel scared for Simon. He sounds like a great guy and a good friend. If he isn’t careful, his house is next.

when he shared about his parents leaving him to cry i wanted to hug him.
I did too. How incredibly cruel
Same ❤

Very sad and he still, at his age he is calling his partner his friend.
🤮
He is his friend.

He will destroy Simon's home.

What happens to the cats, are they just being left to starve in her house??
Sad that he is now hoarding the home of the friend who took him in when his house becvcame unlivable. 😊

I think they are partners, but keeping it private ----my take.
Yeah! A full episode!
I too am worried about Simon.
Well done Paul! You are very brave!
He's going to hoard out his friend. Sad.
So. Did his friend's house get de-cluttered? 🤨
So sad are the stories we tell ourselves to justify our feelings. I am very concerned about Simon allowing Paul to create such a hidey hole in his house. Hope that got sorted out.
To say this place is cluttered is the most understated comment ever.....
I've seen this before; when this guy moved out moving in with his partner bringing some of his hoard into his friend's house to hoard again. 90% hoarders rehoard and never recover.
Gosh , after only a few seconds I’m scared...the man is going to fall and be suffocated by all the trash

I like watching the crew actually working. Less psychology .
Best of luck to you Paul and Simon. Paul, Simon.. Paul Simon! Maybe you two should start take singing lessons?!

This one broke my heart 😢
Я очень люблю вашу программу, и всегда жду с нетерпением 😃👍💯

He's using Simon.
Indeed he will repeat the same pattern of behaviour.
Guy needs a hospital !!!
I feel for Paul. He just misses his mother, thats all.
Simon and Paul are quite a cute couple. Hope they find their way!
Сколько времени пройдет после уборки, когда он опять забьёт мусором до потолка свою нору?
38 days.
😱0.52 секунды ужас,караул😱
Omg! He gets help from his counselor. He have lot of tiggers. Beautiful house needs more flipper.
A house like that in the US would sell for $15,000.
That's crazy. If it was in Sydney, Australia it would fetch over a million probs just for the land it sits on, , then it would be bulldozed and a new house built
@@ozgal6929 Same for in Canada.
It would depend on where it is in the US. In San Francisco it would probably fetch at least $500k.
It‘ s a different price market for houses in Europe. I suppose this is worth around 350 000 Dollars.
Not in NYC... at least $300K if in a nice neighborhood.
Who else is also combined that Paul and Simon are a guy couple? Really lovely people…
Donate or trash.
Bet a fiver he went back to buy the dominoes.
🤣

This show is pretty old I bet he also ruined Simon’s house. Simon stood no chance you can already see how bad his house got in 4 years.
I can’t watch anymore. Sorry.
Does he have polmarines?
Ther are millions on this planet, cannot move in thier dwelling and cannot move safely climbing ver junk.😊
Arizona 🇺🇸 I loves flipper houses. My favorite to do kitchen and bathroom.

New life in the house. ❤️🩹.
