because my capuchinera oscar does express simonelli cream but it goes liquid like coffee made in coffee that may be going through.
I have an Oscar but is a Dacor version where they put the oscar guts into a cabinet mount assembly. ANyway. There is an over pressurization valve that drips sporadically into the lower tray. This is a pain. if you forget to remove the tray and drain the water into the sink you will get a flood. So my question is how do I adjust that valve not to drip so much ? It is possible because the guy who rebuilt it said I would need to adjust it. He is not available anymore . so I ask you exactly where is that adjustment?
Hi Marc, love your presentations on coffee machines. Always good usable details provided. I have a question however on temperature and pressure at the brew head for the Musica. How is the temperature and the pressure regulated/controlled on the Musica machine and are any of these settings done at the factory with no chance of the user changing them? For instance, is the temperature what it is after the water has flowed through the heat exchanger and that's that? Thanks!
Old question, for future reference: At about 3:20 into the presentation the Factory Representative notes the Musica has a pressure gauge up front. One could use pressure / temperature "surfing" to bring water temperatures 'into the ball park'. However, if the preset temperature range is too low, the pressurstat is easily accessible and the user could adjust boiler pressure "max" for an expected resulting temperature and 'range'. The user would then be required to observe to the best of their abilities what such adjustment results at the brew head. If you had a scace or wire-bead thermocouple you could refine that value quite accurately.

Hi JM, Well... With enough time and money they say anything is possible. But you might have to build an extension on the case to fit a standard rotary pump.

Can the Oscar be used in commercial applications? We are doing an Italian style bar that focuses on food, beer and wine. We are thinking about adding an espresso machine that can do 5-10 espressos a day 5 days a week.
Hi Pizzaiowa, Although not technically a commercial machine, that volume of use is well within the Oscar's capabilities. Please be aware that it might not meet commercial criteria depending on local regulations.
Which one is better:
A) Nuova Simonelli Oscar/Oscar2
B) Breville Dual Boiler (920 BSXL)
Which one will be better for a beginner, considering the learning aspect as well ?
Hi Nitin, The Breville machines are well liked by many users. What set's them apart from each other is the build. The Breville's are considered more of an "appliance" while the Oscar is a more of a "machine". The Breville packs in a lot of desirable features like PID temp control and dual boiler. It's able to offer features like this at a lower price than traditional machines thru mass-production and more automation. The Oscar is a heat-exchange machine. It can brew and steam at the same time like a dual boiler machine. But it takes a bit more skill to nail brewing temps when using an HX machine. For a beginner, both machines will have a learning curve but the Breville will be a little easier to use. It has a brew pressure gauge that can help initially but you'll probably pay no attention to it after using for awhile. If you plan on having the machine for a long time the Oscar will (with proper care) likely outlast the Breville with it's more robust build and components.

You answered and summarized my question perfectly by saying: Breville is an "Appliance" and Oscar is a "Machine". My view is:
A) With Appliance based machine a beginner can make good coffee as most of the features are working behind the scene but with the Machine a beginner will actually learn how to master the shots.
B) Indeed with Machine a beginner will have frustrated moments as they will make mistakes but that is how they will learn through training to master their shots.
So the choice is Oscar/Oscar2
You are very welcome! I think that's a wise choice. True it'll be just a little harder in the beginning but you will appreciate the machine and have better skills down the road!

@@itamarkas Hi! My understanding is while it works in the manor of an E61 recirculation cycle it is a NS design. (I'd be appreciative if @Whole Latte Love corrected me if I got it wrong. :)
