It is a miracle that the Nevilles made it through 9 centuries of English wars and civil wars and are still there today. I like the idea that their family members can still enjoy these pieces written for a long gone ancestor.
@@russellgillion Delighted to hear that. There is a Wikipedia article called "house of Neville", that would be a good start. Also, they appear in many documentaries about the Wars of the Roses, especially the "king maker" Richard Neville, 16th Earl of Warwick.
I love everything about this recording. It showcases amazing clarity of phrasing and musicality in general. The fidelity is perfect for this instrument of which I’d like to know more about.

Beautiful interpretations of the best of Engish Music. This is the closest we will get to heaven on earth. I'm off to Walsingham. cheers

Considering their very deep involvement in 15th and 16th c treason, very much so. Just enjoy Byrd

Through my ancestry research, I just found out Henry Neville is my 13th. Great-grandfather.
You say 9 centuries? How do I learn more about this family?

Pieter-Jan Belder ist in der Tat ein hervorragender holländischer Cembalist. Auf jeden Fall, ich bin sehr beeindruckt!
played really well, and the music by byrd is of supreme caliber
I love the ornamentation!
That Belder fella sure keeps himself busy it seems. Good stuff.

Is he realy playing the Harpsichord? Sounds like a Virginal to me. Anyway, great music as always!
